Im sure the fishing is nice, but these two dudes in a white truck were total trash. Rather go anywhere else then this place. I do not recommend. White truck can be seen in the reflection, watch out for it.

I really enjoyed fishing here, my friend Craig brought me since we both love to fish. I was on vacation and no longer a calif resident so I didn't have a fishing license but you pay $30 for the daily permit to fish and I was very happy with that. I also caught 2 fish. The staff were friendly and I will gi back when in calif.

Had a fun little fishing trip to Lake McAlpine today. It was super cute and good place to take the kiddos fishing! Since no license was required you have to purchase a daily permit, which was a little on the pricey side, the only real bad comment I had. There are a few restrooms around the lake and it is not very big at all so a walk around the lake before we left was nice! Had some picnic tables, fire pits, plenty of benches to sit at and there even some places to BBQ at. Would reccommend, and will probably go back.

A diamond in the ruff. A great little hidden gem, great for families, fishing, picnics, a great little trail for walking around the lake. I absolutely love the seperate little private wooden docks. I love taking pictures here. The staff is great and welcoming.

Beautiful surroundings. Very helpful, attentive, personable staff members. They are real on top of there daily routines in maintaining the park.all together very home like atmosphere people seem to get along very friendly and respectable place. There's the property manager Faith who's always out making sure things are kept up ,friendly. Then there's the front desk man ,Charles who's very attentive and helpful with any questions on anything having to do with the park. Seems gruff but actually very nice gentleman. And theres the man who maintains the lattreens for everyone .He's on top of his job and has been very helpful in helping us figure out things to do with our trailer. I don't fish but I've seen many people come out of the lake front fishing area with a good amount of nice looking fish smilingband happy it seems.Havent met the owner but my son knows him and I've seen him out there with people seems extremely friendly and happy young man. Overall I'd give this place 5 stars.

Spent the night with some friends and it was my daughters first time camping. We had a lot of fun with the short amount of time we were there. It was very relaxing and I would definitely recommend camping here with friends and family. We didn't do any fishing but next time we plan to.

Forgot to post this last summer and a YouTuber with mcalpine came up so now I rembered So here s the hard truth it s 35$ to enter and 35$ for a person who won t even fish if ya got kids and They can t even fish don t come at all tell the wife ya going with a friend instead it s not family welcomed it s family scammed. Second7$ per pound after catching trout past your 4lb limit, now you caught 4 trout each like 3 lbs guessing what 12lbs total but 4lbs are free so it s 8lbs left for you to pay that s 56$! on top of your entrance 91$ you just spent to fish there I get it if the entrance was 10$ or pound at least at 2-3$ a pound but ay man idk theirs horshoe lake in Fremont too that got lighting and rainbow and coyote lake still has them secretly .then it s 7or 8am opening time to 5pm closing you could only catch their tagged catfish for $$$ most likely right as they open ya can t stay till 8-9pm sadly unless ya camping I believe. Overall sick pond but pricing is defiently their greedy problem. Money is being made already from rental rv s really why not charge 10$ for an entrance fee instead it s not like money won t be made ya asking 7$ for each pound still. And I m pretty sure lots of people go. But man at least lower the entrance fee or the pound limit to like 2$ or 3$ and actually have a day pass for a person who s not fishing cause man that pond is beautiful especially to walk around and some people really just want to see the pond so 10$ entrance fee would not hurt you as now other people who don t even fish can go for 10$ a person just to see or eat or relax there and bbq. Maybe make some deals bro for family or groups of people and not count kids under 4 years old as $$

Its a private property. Found it on map and went there. Then realized that to go to lake its $30 fee. But the owner was nice to let us use the picnic benches in the property to have our lunch.Overall, a private property and not a tourist attraction to add as a stop on way to your destination.

It literally cost 35 doler to fish here that's 35 dolers of putting fish in and out of a pond also is cost more if you denied to even get a fish for your self and the place has more rules than my math teachers class room

Terrible! Do not waste your time or money. It was $30/person to go to the lake. Children and non-fishers are all $30. There were no fish and the water was gross! The guy in the shop was not respectful and called people names.

30 $ a person no discount for kids . No friendly advice on where or how to fish there . As far as bait or spinning bait . Guy at the front was very unfriendly and I took my 5yr old to catch his first fish and had no such luck due to the fact I spent the entire time almost looking for a bathroom. I will never return . For sure . Rather go waste my money elsewhere .

What a wonderful place. It is really well maintained and clean. It was my 1st time here. I didn't catch any fish, but I have heard that others were catching a lot on the weekend. We came on a Monday to avoid the crowd and it is perfect- except for not catching any fish. I only give it 4 stars because of the price. I paid $60 for my Granddaughter and I. It looks like it would be a great place for picnics or camping.

Definitely not recommend at all. Spent 5 hours without any luck with 3 rods. The same situation for everyone who we met there. You pay $30 for a pass even if you are not going to fish and just accompany your fishermen, the same price for children as well. They should have a functional restroom at least for that price. It s only a place to wast your time, money and efforts.

This place was ok. The greatest part was the kind people and the very clean bathrooms. There is no swimming but fishing is great. Happy with our stay. No big bugs or crazy mosquitos and they gave two small cabins too. There is also a working toilet porter potty! Hilarious and a helpful. The grass is better in the front. The lake also has a fire pit and log seating to admire the scenery.

Went in on a nice day. Was my wife and me who were planning on fishing. I had my 2 sons with me as well but they are 2 years old and I have a 9 month old. Neither of them were planning on fishing but the grey haired man in the front said they don t do the 15 dollars for people who aren t fishing anymore. (Despite the prices being right in front of my eyes) weird. So they wanted me to pay full price for all 4 of us. 120 dollars. And the old lady sitting in front of the building just looked me down and looked the other way. I just got a rude vibe the whole time I was planning on checking in. Never bring my family back here again. Horrible experience. Pretty sure they re the owners. Charging babies full price for entrance as if they can fish. Crazy people in this world sad.

It was my first time here and I thought the place looked cool. The place doesn't require a fishing license but you do have to pay for a pass which is $35 for adults and $25 for youth. I do like that there's a bait & tackle shop on the premise. There is fish in here, saw 3 bass chillin by the banks but sadly didn't catch anything today. There's bluegill, catfish, bass and trout. As for the report of my fishing trip here's what I got. For the entire day only one person out of 15 anglers caught a fish which was a good size trout.

A great place to relax. The fee was well worth it.

You paid $30 for a one day fishing license (even if you already have one!?) per person to fish, sit there for over 6 hours without even a bite. Only thing we've seen was a crawdad and a bunch of birds. Definitely would never recommend this spot to anybody

I went there to get a space for me and my daughter to camp. The staff is very nice but the campground is a bit rough and it looks like all the people that were there live there year round. I have no problem with that but it felt like going to camp in a mobile home park. Price is high for what you are getting. You can t even just walk around the lake and enjoy what little scenery is there without purchasing a permit. I decided it was not the place for us and moved on. If you are looking for scenic or lots to do other then fish look elsewhere as this is not the place.

Too expensive, $35 to fish, kids are $25 and the maximum catch is 4 lbs then you have to pay $7 per pound over the 4 lb limit.

Looking for place to take young children for first fishing experience and this place was perfect. I hadn't fished in years and they had everything we needed like rental poles, bait and tackle.Considered local fishing lakes around south bay but really wanted kids to catch something. Since they stock fish it was perfect. Kids had a blast. I almost caught the biggest fish ever (I know fish story) but, didn't have a net. Will go back and better prepared next time for that monster catfish!

I would give this place a zero. I don t know if it was because of the holiday weekend, but I looks like a rundown RV park. The camping sites are an arms-reach away, tucked into a shallow grass area with little to no privacy from the next camp site. I would love to see this place spruced up, it looks like it could be a quaint and fun place for families, but in its current state it s not safe at all. I m so disappointed and upset because I had planned an entire weekend for my son s first camping and fishing weekend.

Please do not go to this place. This place is a total scam. There are no fish. Paid 210 dollars to fish here and not a single bite. There were about 30 other people all around the lake and no one and i mean no one had a single bite. We were there from 8 to 1. It was supposed to be my kids first time fishing and we drove 2 hours away for a sure thing . Thats why i paid the high price. Wish i could give this place negative stars

I had read about this place a few times and heard some good things. We were interested and I had the chance on my way thru to stop by and take a look before we hauled all the way there with the camper. Boy am I glad I did.I what to mention first that I understand this is a business and money needs to be made to keep things going. However you need to mention the live ins before hand and the limited availability. When I drove around I was a little surprised. On the top by the office all the spaces were filled with live ins. No problem as I am used to that as this is a places main stay and steady income.I then went down by the lake and was pretty surprised. On a Friday only one or two spots were open. All the others on the bottom were filled with live ins. Thank god someone like me did not haul a long ways to only discover that only one or two spots we reopen for units. However if you look around this could be a beautiful placed the grounds are kept up but The live in trailers and such are so run down. It is a shame as this could have been my weekend spot to go to. Over all Nice place to visit for the day and fish but not the type of place to drop in on as you are more than likely not going to find a spot to put your camper. When we called they said first come first served. That should be a warning to all.Two stars because of the Nice people and the fishing...

Expensive and dirty, there was litter everywhere. Pond is ok size but very weedy. We took the kids for their first fishing trip and didn t get a single bite. It was only when we checked out that they told us they haven t stocked trout in months. What a waste of time and money. 0 stars, find another place.
