Horrible experience. Where do I begin. I've had suspension work done before with them, and they did a great job at the time. I felt the price was a little high, but I needed the work done. So I went with them regardless.. The first work I got done, I asked for them to bring me all my old parts, and they did. However, when the guy went to pull my parts out of my trunk, he was throwing them on the ground and accidentally scratched my bumper.no big deal, I was happy for the repair to be done. So I let it be.This time, however, I knew for a fact. My car only needed a tune-up. I had taken it to a different mechanic before I came here and had an inspection done and verified it was a tune-up.However, because I was happy with the work They did here before , I came back to this place becausei wanted to give them my business. I brought my car here, and they did the inspection.Upon inspection, they showed me the fualt codes ( assuming i probably wasn't going to know what each code meant) However, I understood each misfire code which all pointed back to it needing a standard tune up. I decided to be quiet and see if he was going to be honest with me on what i needed. Long story short, I was told I had all these problems with my car. And that it was gonna cost anywhere from $4k to $6k and that they would not know until they open it up. I asked if I could just get the tune-up, and he said he recommended me either getting it all fixed at once and pay the $4k or in his opinion it's not worth fixing and I sell it and get something more affordable.$500 later and doing the tune up my damn self with the help of a friend , and my Mercedes-Benz running smooth like day 1. All it needed was a tune-up. No oil in my ECU ( he will know what I mean when he sees this) . To be honest, it sucks because I did like the people here and was hoping I could trust them

My father recommended me this place so I ve been going here for the last few years to get my Service A for my 2006 C230 Mercedes Benz Bin is my technician and is so hardworking, reliable, communicative, knowledgeable and honest! He is very nice and friendly. He is also Vietnamese and I can speak to him in my native language. please ask Bin to fix your car!

I went to this shop because AAA recommended it. My car needed a starter. The car had an oil leak (from the valve cover gasket) I've driven it without any problems for 4 years, it also has approx 170000 miles but overall a great car. So the shop did a diagnostic check they confirmed it needed the starter replaced so they went ahead and installed my a new starter for $700. The evening I picked up my car i.didnt even make it home before it stalled and had a hard time firing back up... I went back to Star Automotive and they explained to me that my car now has an air leak in the engine, the crank shaft sensor needs replaced (which ironically enough is located right under the starter, could've been bumped or damaged during repairs?) And basically the car isn't drivable until I get this new air leak issue and my valve cover gasket resealed.. and thatll be roughly $2000. I explained to the mechanic that the car was drivable until my starter went out his response was it came in on a tow truck... how do I know it even ran? But mechanics never get to test drive cars before they break... so STAR AUTOMOTIVE laughed me out of their office that day claiming my car had all these problems before but.if that were the case why didn't they mention that during the diagnostic test.

Joe is an honest manager of this auto shop. Very straightforward details about what needs to be fixed before fixing. Very upfront with the total amount due including labor costs. Very satisfied- took my car here after hitting a curb (hard) and bending my control arm and passenger strut. Car drives great now, they even fixed my steering column for free. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends

I have a 2003 C230 Kompressor with 168K city mileage and I was fortunate it never had any shop visits other than the smog shop. I have been doing all possible DIYs on my car until the coolant starts mixing up with oil lately. I am so stressed out looking for an honest to goodness MB experts (someone that is not going to rip me off) that of all 5 MB shops I have consulted only Star Auto Service got my thrust.As soon as I brought my car at closing time the very next day my C230 were already up and halfway through with all the repair works. I felt bad not asking the name of the mechanic who is working with my car but he is very nice and very comfortable to talk with.Kiet and Joe are the ones running the shop and they sure are the MB experts you would like to asks first. Kiet is an expert with a few words but well informed of your MB issues and problems Joe as well does the same but more MBs external and internal logistics. As far as pricing are concerned, they are very straightforward and my instinct tells me that they will not rip me off.Kudos with all other mechanic experts working in their shop. They sure deserve my respect and solace from my car issues. A complete and total appreciation of their services. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED..!

These guys are amazing. They got my car in on a Saturday and diagnosed/fixed the problem in only a few hours. Plus I had mentioned before that I needed an oil change but just didn't have the extra cash on-hand and when I got my car back they let me know they gave me oil.. GO HERE.

These guys are really awesome... They came highly recommended from a close family friend and they treated me and my car very well. Very reasonably priced as well. I took my car here a while ago. I had a leaking powering steering on my eclipse. I was recommended here by a family member. Wish I never went. Recently my power steering pump completely just dumped a bunch of fluid. I was charged for a brand new power steering pump. They kept my car for over 5 days. I was charged $389 for pump and labor. I had a mechanic recently look at my now blown pump again. The bolts were never touched to get the pump out. What they did was took my sending unit ( pressure switch )out . Put right stuff on it and gave it back to me. I enjoyed paying the price for a brand new pump and getting ripped off. Not . Never going here again and most definitely will not recommend to anyone. I feel like telling my cousin he owes me for the money star auto conned out of me.Service: Steering & suspension repair

These guys are tremendous, I usually take all of my Mercedes here for all maintenance, but they do all vehicles, so I bring my suv's....their prices are always better than the competitors. They know their business.... Check them out, you won't be disappointed....

This is a great shop. My BMW had some problem as I was in San Jose looked on Google for a shop not knowing the area or where to go liked the way his ad looked took my car there and the only bad part about this shop is they aren't doing business in my city. I've dealt with s lot of shops and by far this business beats them all and I'm seriously thinking of taking my car the 110 miles from my house to them whenever I need my car serviced from now on and that's no B.S. the went above and beyond and gave me a 10% discount plus replaced a couple bulbs at no cost on their own I never mentioned to them were blown. And the total cost was under what I expected to pay thinking my location there was going to make it much more that was a pleasant surprise and the service was performed in one day thanks Star you guys are a great place to spend hard earned money if need be

Just bring my Mercedes C350 to Star Auto service today for some services this is a second times I came here after my brother and sisters preferred.Their Service very good, fast , quality and the price was reasonable. A lot better than dealer.Especially thanks to Mr. JOE very helpful and nice , I can rate him and the shop 5 star .Very happy to introduce to everyone.Steven Pham

They correctly identified that the cause of increased sound level of my car was coming from damaged wheel bearings. They replaced the bearings and my car runs great now. They do not overcharge and do a quality job. I highly recommend them. From my experience with them I feel they can be trusted.

Oh my God! THIS IS THE BEST AND HONEST SHOP I EVER DEALT WITH! Joe and Keith (owners) were great people, friendly, helpful. Courteous, very professional and humble people. Try this and you wouldn t move to another car shop anymore. They specialize in European cars but they also works with other model cars. Give them a call.

Joe runs the Place andbis a great guy. He changed the motor and the cats in my wife's HondaI love to defeat extra attention to the detail when putting the motor back to make sure everything was fastened and tightened down securely even stuff that was loose before they fixed properly it had a small problem with one of the parts joe reordered and fixed it promptly. No fuss towards me the customer great service great shop!!!!

Star Auto is the only place I take my vehicles for many years now...and refer to friends as well. Found them about 10 years ago when I had a BMW motor go out on a 1998 528i....they did a motor swap for me at a price that was not just better than other competitors....but I could tell that they knew what they were doing. I take all my cars there now as well....not just the German ones. Joe who runs the office is a professional, fair, and extremely knowledgeable... trustworthy person that does what he says he is gonna do...and honor prices quoted even when he made a mistake on what the prices were more than he told me they were.... Kiet who runs the shop knows his craft very well and has the same type of quality of character as Joe. Thanks again guys .... surprised it took me this long to write you a review!

This is a busy auto repair place but it is busy for a reason. The offer quality repairs at a great rate. I was quoted $1250 for an air conditioning compressor replacement at pep boys. Star Auto Services did it for $800! A $450 savings. I brought my car in one at about 12:30PM, it was ready for pick up at about 4:30PM on the same day. The staff was very busy but with savings like that and their ability to make repairs quickly a busy staff is understandable. I do recomend Star Auto Services for your next car repair.

Read nice reviews about this place so I decided to go, I just had a few questions.No one acknowledges you, I understand when people are busy I don't expect anyone to drop what their doing to help me but come on, I had to follow the manager around in and out of the office like puppy just to get him to look at me haha, then when I get a few words in he tells me "sorry I am in the middle of something".I respect the reviews but unfortunately my first impression of this place is they are to busy for new customers, I took my business elsewhere and was at least acknowledged and told they will be with me shortly.

They came recommended from my prior BMW repairman, who retired. They were quick, honest, friendly and efficient. They are my new go-to BMW repair shop.
