I met Tho though a mutual friend. I was impressed by how much he knew about cars and his mentality about taking care of his clients. I decided to stop taking my Landcruiser to the dealership for services and take it to him instead. I started feeling like the dealership just pushes cars through the line quickly as possible after upselling you on things you don t really need. Does the minimum and hands you a big bill.I just had Tho do a scheduled oil change but he knew that I go off roading. He inspected my steering and suspension system because he felt it could be driving better. I had suspension modifications done by another shop and thought that the changes in how the car felt were just side effects of the suspension lift. Tho found some loose bolts, and he also made some adjustments. My vehicle feels so much better!Will definitely be taking my car to him from now on. I use my vehicle as a family car and we sometimes end up in remote places. I like that he s proactive in making sure everything s working properly not because he wants to charge more but because he cares about his clients.

I don't know where to begin, but had my 2015 Hyundai Elantra towed a couple of weeks ago to get it repaired due to acceleration issues but after having my car for a day, he replaced a broken wire and a mapping sensor. Picked up my car the next day, got a few blocks down the road & it was having the same issue & it seemed worse. He claimed that it was fine when I left. He charged me over $600, plus he also forgot to change my oil per my request. Wanted to give him a second chance, but he wasn't willing to work with me & help this single woman out in getting her car repaired. This is REALLY bad business practice. So, I wouldn't recommend doing business with him.

Bought a diffuser and trunk wing for my 18 Accord. Diffuser is decent but the wing started peeling off days after installation. Now I'm a very particular person so I made sure I cleaned and installed it properly. I've reached out to Southbay multiple times and have received ZERO response. This company doesn't care about you after you've purchased their product. Find a different company to give your money. This one is a joke.

I ordered a Takeda Cold Air Intake from these guys and their communication is on point. Ordering any car part post covid is terrible. Extremely long lead times are to be expected. South Bay was super prompt in their communication with me and let me know that my package was going to be delayed. Unlike some parts stores where you have to constantly stay on top of them, South Bay reached out to me instead. I went through 3 different stores to get this intake and every single time the store wasn t able to complete the order but South Bay made it happen and for the best price I found as well. Looking forward to picking up some carbon fiber off these guys as well. You guys have a life long customer now.

Sent part that didn't fit and some of the lights inside didn't work. My return was lost after the business signed for it. Michele in support just started ignoring my emails. Theres nothing else I can do. The ratings for this company are low for a reason. Im basically out 200$ but because Jalisco's carbon fiber was sold out and I thought Southbay was reputable. There are plenty of suppliers for their products. DONT USE THIS COMPANY.

I ve been taking my vehicles to Tho for many years. I ve recommended friends and family to him. He s a Toyota specialist but is not limited to Toyotas. I have found him to be competent, honest and upfront. Last time was my son s 2011 Scion TC that was making a bad grinding sound from the engine. He diagnosed it as a transmission problem (manual transmission), said he understood what the problem was and estimated $3k to repair. Told us the car had too many miles on it (179k) and advised that we do not make these repairs. Communication skills are just fine, too.

Been waiting for my items that were "in stock" when I ordered them. Takes weeks before they finally answer me. Gave me a tracking number that doesn't update. Turns out they don't even have the product yet. Told me as soon as it arrives they'll ship it. The only reason I ordered it is because it's in stock. Supposedly. Now I'm not getting any response. Just takes your money and don't even bother giving proper update. Just awful communication. Why not be honest in the first place instead of the run around. So frustrating

Ordered a sequential turn signal light for my mirrors. Terrible instructions. Tried looking up a tutorial video on how to install them and can t find any video that has the same color wires. Makes it very difficult to understand what wires go where.

Disclaimer: This review is solely based on my conversation with Tho over the phone. I haven't gotten work done yet.After a terrible experience with Midas in Sunnyvale where they wrongly diagnosed my 2002 Honda CR-V as needing a $700 Fuel Pump. I had my suspicions so I got on the phone with Toe (Southbay Autoworks is a few blocks from me) , who told me in his honest opinion that it's very rare that a CR-V needs a fuel pump replaced. He's never had to do one. Long story short, I pumped 3 gallons of gas into the CRV while it was at Midas and it started right up. I had a bad gas gauge reading. I called Tho back and he told me don't waste any money for now, just fill up the tank and sometimes it will "unstuck" the needle. I did as he told me, and the gas needle is now working again!!I love how Tho is not after making a quick buck off you but rather building a long term relationship with his customers and offers great advice like a trusted friend. It's rare for an automotive business to think about the customer first, instead of their own short term gains and profits. (I worked in Auto Sales, Rental, and Repair)When my gas needle gets stuck again, or if I ever have any car troubles, guess who I'm going to bring my car to? :)

Was told they had the parts I wanted in stock, made the purchase and was expecting them to be here by now but have been waiting over a week but the parts haven t even shipped. Sent an email to find out they won t have any of the parts till mid December. What a waste of my time, I don t understand how difficult it is to simply just say the part isn t in stock. Placed a order over two weeks ago and the items are in stock with little to no process has been made on my order , You try to get a hold of anyone there and they just send you where to contact them by number or email with no response at all, They can easily take your money but can t as easily ship there overly priced merchandise wouldn t recommend shopping or dealing with this company
