Charles is extremely knowledgeable and cares about doing a good job. He came out to diagnose my dead Ford Ranger. He got her running after a month sitting idle and we have a plan moving forward with maintenance and fine tuning. I would STRONGLY recommend this mechanic. Honest, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. Thanks for the excel service Charles!!

Charles came out to my house to give me a repair quote on my Jeep! He s very knowledgeable, that much is obvious! However is is also extremely kind and took time to explain the repairs! I am scheduling the actual repair work next week, but thought a separate review on the estimate process was warranted!

Charles was great. Got a pre-purchase inspection. Came by right on time, checked out the car quickly, pointed out everything he found and explained it all comprehensively. He answered any questions I had in a very kind manner and offered further help in the future. Didn't even pay that much for a PPI. Setting an appointment was easy and quick. Give him a call before you set it online and it's even easier. I would definitely recommend MAW to anyone looking for a kind professional who knows what they're doing.

Charles did an excellent job helping me with a pre-purchase inspection. He was on time, communicated well, and was very thorough in his work. He clearly communicated what he was checking, offered to teach a bit about what to look for, and took his time answering my questions. His advice and expertise paid for itself, would highly recommend him for any other pre-purchase inspections!

I can't say enough appraise for Charles' work! He just saved me from buying into a long-lasting trouble with his thorough inspection.The car I was interested in is expensive and looked fantastic on the surface, but Charles' found out issues that made the car unsafe to drive. I've used Charles twice now for pre-purchase inspections, and both times he saved me from buying total lemons. He takes his time and goes over every inch of the car. He not only tells you everything that needs to be addressed, but he is able to give you estimates, and is able to break the news to the sellers politely. He is a well of knowledge, and is simply a great person along with being a great mechanic. He is very trustworthy and always has the customer's best interests in mind. Charles is AWESOME. I hired him to do a pre-purchase inspection, and he was incredibly meticulous, thorough, and patient with me as I asked what I'm sure were very stupid questions. He made sure I understood every aspect of the process and even went for a test drive with me as he gave me his run-down of the vehicle. In the end, I was able to get the price I wanted (even though this dealership was notorious for being "no haggle" and downright stubborn). It really helped having Charles in my corner, who is clearly passionate about what he does and is a genuine consumer advocate. You should definitely hire him if you are thinking of buying a car. If I could I would give him a million stars! Charles was amazing helping with my pre-purchase inspection on my car. He was super thorough with the inspection and came straight to the dealership. He went above and beyond my expectations. When I first heard how much it was going to be I almost didn t make the appointment, but I m so glad I did. It was so worth the $180 for his services. He gave me his cell number and I was able to consult with him even after he left. Truly a business that looks out for its customers. I would recommend them to anyone in the San Jose area.

If you re looking at a used car, you NEED Charles to come inspect it before you buy. We were looking at a nice vehicle with a clean Carfax report. We called Charles and was able to come right away to do an inspection. He was incredibly thorough and found several issues that needed attention, and with the report and estimate he have is we negotiated a much better deal to cover those minor repairs. Friendly and professional, I can t recommend Mobile Auto Works highly enough.

Charles is honest, punctual and thorough. I used him for a used car pre purchase inspection. He sees things any buyer would miss with the naked eye. Gave me an honest opinion on if he d purchase the truck and saved me about 3k. 100% would use his services again. I paid $200 all in. A bit of a premium compared to others, however, you get what you pay for. It s hard to find a mechanic you can trust.

Charles was everything anyone could ask for in a mechanic; he thoroughly explained the process and pricing, had everything on him that he might need, and he worked quickly and accurately. Charles performed a pre purchase inspection on a vehicle I was looking to purchase. He was professional with excellent service and paid extreme attention to detail in revealing many critical flaws of the vehicle of interest. After completion of the inspection, he personally called to explain each issue that he found and from his excellent work, has saved me $40000 from purchasing a vehicle with many "hidden" issue not revealed by the dealership nor Carfax.

The owner Charles was fantastic. I had been working on my Ford Ranger and put in a new engine, but was having some idling issues and engine was running very rough. I had exhausted every option I could to fix it trying to do it myself, even going as far to replace the PCM. Had I called Charles earlier, I would have actually saved a significant amount of money. I called Charles after I gave up and couldn't figure it out. Charles quickly dispelled my incorrect ideas and proceeded with an expert approach. He found a few very specific issues within the hour by using problem solving skills that only come through years of experience. My truck is now running smooth as butter. He was very knowledgeable, professional, kind, and efficient. He also provided a fair price and didn't take advantage of the fact that my diagnoses could have been much more expensive. Instead he followed his instincts as a professional mechanic, and found the problem, which ended up being more cost effective in the long run. I would highly recommend this man to anyone whose having issues with their car.

Charles was very knowledgable when we discussed options when we talked on the phone. When I decided to use service he was on time and we met at my office. The new brakes were installed quickly and I would highly recommend for anyone who is busy and needs some maintenance done to their car / truck. The work was done right in the parking lot.

Gave me a used battery and over charged for the labor. Better off going to a real storefront that is established instead of worrying about getting ripped off. Keeps making excuses but his hustle is to sell used and old batteries in order to make a living.

Charles was incredibly helpful in his pre-purchase inspection of a vehicle. Since I don't live nearby, he met the seller without me there. After the inspection, he called me and explained in detail both what was wrong with the vehicle and what each of those things would mean for me as a potential owner, as well as sending a written report of the things he found and estimated costs to fix. He helped me through every step of the process, even going so far as to give his personal opinion on what I should offer in negotiations and giving me his personal cell phone number to have him help interpret smog test results days after the job was done. I'll never buy a used car again without an inspection like this, and I wouldn't go to anyone else in the South Bay.

I had Charles inspect two cars before a potential purchase. He really knows his stuff and will tell you what matters and what does not in a used car. I felt very confident when buying the second car and have not been disappointed since. I did not even need to be present - Charles connected with the owner and he called me later with the report.

My car had its original battery on for 7 years, an unimaginable battery life! Following a two-week sleep in the garage, the car did not start. It leaked. Charles was able to give me a same day appointment and was punctual. He patiently cleaned all the mess around the cables and put in a new battery that he carries. Charles was awesome. He let me know when he was coming and showed up on time. He encouraged me to watch him while he was working on my car and told me the numbers that would mean I'd need a new battery before he turned on his equipment. Charles is top notch. He s very direct and to the point with a clean and straightforward booking process, and his eagle eye helped spot some important trouble spots in my used car purchase. His clarity in educating me as a consumer saved me money, difficulties, and time, and right now his work means my new-to-me used car will be receiving alignment, new tires, and a dollar credit for non-obvious prior repair.From now on? I needed an ignition switch replaced after an attempt to steal my truck. Charles explained all the necessary steps ahead of time so there were no surprises, and finished the repair the same day I called. He also gave me advice on my evap sensor for an upcoming smog check, gratis. I would recommend his services to anyone. I'd give him 10 stars if i could. A++

Fantastic customer service. Got very quick response for an appointment, came to my home next day to assess my car, after he was able to see what parts I needed, found them that day and came back to do replacement (all within 2 hours or so). Car has worked great ever since and this was 4 months ago. Great service, fair pricing, incredibly convenient, 100% recommend.

Charles was SO professional, and fixed my car up quickly while I was at work. He communicated clearly, gave me the information I needed up front, charged a reasonable price, and met me at my workplace. Fingers crossed that I never have another car problem - but if I do, I'll call Mobile Auto Works.
