Attempted an oil change and headlight bulb replacement at a competitor down the street. That didn t work out so I came here the next day at 8AM, right when they open. First come first served, and I figured Saturday would be busy. Luckily there was only one other customer in front of me.John was friendly and his 1 hour time estimate was accurate. I would recommend him to others and come here again for my next oil change.

I've been coming to John for YEARS!!! he is the only mechanic/person I trust to honestly work on my SUV.I have NEVER had a bad interaction with him or anyone else who's worked there. Some of the reviews are funny though. Respect is a two way street. Give respect, get respect. SimpleI do go to oil changers to change my oil.. why? Because it's a tad cheaper, and they're open on all weekends. Do I trust the oil change places? not for a second.I trust John and J.P. Auto. My ex was a mechanic (for years!!!)..he trusts John too!!Thank you John for always taking good care of the tank.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes, Air conditioning, Brake service & repair

John is the best around!!Been using him for years and what brings me back besides the quality of the work is how honest they are.John has advised me against getting work done on numerous occasions which costs him business.Put your faith in these guys and you will be very happy you did.Service: Oil change

So many friends have recommended JP Auto, so I have started to have them service my cars and am very happy with the service. We had an alternator go out on our Toyota (battery light came on) so I called John there. He confirmed the diagnosis on the phone and provided a quote within a few minutes. I took it over right then, and he had the alternator replaced by end of day. He also replaced a few other items at very low cost since he already had the belts and other parts removed. I work on cars myself and normally would do the work, but the alternator on the Toyoto V6 is hard to get to. I could tell from talking to John that he really knew his stuff, was a true professional, and charges a very fair price. For now on, if it is a repair I cannot do myself, I am taking it to JP Auto.Service: Electrical

Great service - both technically and as a customer. Walked in, immediately checked the car in. Good communication to keep me up to date and informed. The work done was thorough (extra testing and confirmation of problem). Work completed within the time frame played out. John was really accommodating. Will go back when needed again. Thanks to the team there.

I came here with my friend after the bottom of her car was falling apart after a storm. She was worried and didn't know what to do. The service here was exceptional. John and another worker went above and beyond to take care of her car quickly and efficiently. She felt so much happier after going there. And they made her laugh and feel better. I highly recommend them after they helped us during a crisis!

Really friendly, super quick oil change, competitive on price. And solved an unrelated issue with my wipers for free. Conveniently located by 85 Degrees and H-Mart while you wait ...

I brought my truck in that would not start. Initially I attempted to use my wife's SUV to jump it with no success. JP Automotive tested my starter and alternator which tested good. They charged my battery for 4 hours and found it kept a good charge. Also they noted the cargo light indicator would turn on when the truck started but would turn off shortly after. Which reminded me that the last time I drove it I tryed to turn on the cargo light and my bulb was burnt out. Which led to my dead battery. Thank you for being though and not just changing out my starter . After testing and charging my battery I was only charged a minimal fee. Thanks again guys I will be now going to JP automotive for my truck maintenance and their honest workmanship !

Competent and honest! Car would turn over but not start. Tow truck driver wanted to take car to his friend's garage and replace starter ($600). Refused and had him take it to JP. Got a call in 20 minutes John told me I have a defective key. Took another in, it started and ran well. They could have told me it needed hundreds of $ of repair. They charged $35. They are my new goto!!!!!

Went for oil change on neighbor's recommendation. $60. I find that a little expensive.. I asked him if he can do any multi point check for anything else car needs. He said he will need to charge me. Not going back. I am better off at Jiffy Lube. Quicker and cheaper..

Fantastic, prompt service. The heater hose on my Honda cracked and leaked radiator fluid everywhere. I dropped the car off at JP's at night, and the next afternoon the car was good to go. Great, honest service.

JP Automotive is owned and operated by a couple of fellows who attended Lynbrook High School. Located at Rainbow Drive and Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road, these local, and native sons, decided to go into business in the same area they grew up. As a Lynbrook grad, I was super thrilled to be able to take my car in for service and repair. They are courteous, respectful, and very knowledgeable. They try and help the customer find the best path forward if something major and expensive needs to be done to make the car run properly. First come, first served, so arrive as early as possible so you can get your car stuff done and get back on the road. Scheduled maintenance, oil change, major overhaul? No job too small. What are you waiting for? Go to JP Automotive! You will never regret having a mechanic who is familiar with your car

Went in for oil change. They weren't busy, so I waited. Was out of there quick. Good mechanics that know their stuff, and don't try to upsell you. Good, honest, reliable shop.

WOW!UNEDUCATED AND UNPROFESSIONAL!I would like to share with you guys an experience that I just had right now. So I walked in and talked with the guy named John and I asked him how much he would charge me to change just my oil filter. Now I know that this is a incredibly unconventional request. But I worked in a professional service center for almost 5 years. The thing about oil filters is that they have a bypass valve in them and when the oil filter becomes clogged the bypass valve opens due to the pressure and then your car is running on unfiltered oil which can be a certain death to engines. Now I have an old Saturn and I have a really long commute my engine has some wear and I am burning and leaking oil from the front main seal. I have 264,000 miles on my car and it is still running strong. Yes some maintenance is in order. I have to add a quart of oil approximately every 500 miles to keep it topped off. So the oil has plenty of life left in it and it does not make sense for me to do a full oil change at the rate I Am leaking. But it is still very important to change the oil filter every 3000 miles in town or 5000 freeway. Depending on the quality of filter you choose of course. What I would like to share with you is the classic Shady mechanic experience. The guy I ran into name John Express to me that there's no point in the changing my oil because my motor is going to blow. And I said Thank you for telling me that? I'm so glad that you know the condition of my motor based on how often I have to add oil. He proceeded to inform me what kind of engine damage I had without asking me any questions told me that my rings were fried and on my motor was going to blow so there's no point to change my oil filter. I asked John if he was aware that oil filters had a bypass valve in them and it's there to prevent oil pressure loss in the event of a clogged filter. He dumbfoundedly looked at me. I explained to him that I have worked in the service industry for a number of years and I understand how unconventional it is to request just an oil filter change. But I know my car inside and out. I don't know who this John guy is. He is a slightly hevier set gentleman maybe in his late forties or early fifties. The only thing I can say is if this gentleman does not understand the importance of changing an oil filter. Nor is he aware the construction of an oil filter. I sincerely hope this is not the guy that is giving advice to customers. My response to John after he told me that my engine was going to blow and there's no point to changing my oil filter was as follows. I said John that's a pretty unprofessional thing to say don't you think. He replied that I don't know what I'm talking about and the my engine is going to blow. I said John I hope that you do some research so that you can know what you're talkin about when you're making statements like this. He turned around and informed me as he was walking away to "change my own ef-ing oil filter."Like I said wow! It's people like John that use scare tactics that really give the service industry such a horrible reputation. I honestly doubt that John has any professional training or knowledge about engines or automotive service..

I've been taking my cars to JP Automatic forever. I appreciate not being up sold or treated like I don't know way I'm doing. Service work and smog checks are priced competively. This shop is a great find.

Went there for smog check, about $60 labor + $8 dmv fee. No line, waited 20 mins and done. If price is not an issue, it is good place to get quick check.
