Honestly just avoid this place - there are around 10 automotive shops close by you can go to. I went to get an oil change - the guy waited until after draining the oil & removing the filter just to tell me they don t have any filters, so he put the old one back in. So I was stuck having to put oil in since I didn t have time to go buy a filter myself. They should have said they were out (if that s true) when I called prior to bringing the car in and had a second chance to let me know when I arrived. You have to be able to trust your mechanic without monitoring everything they do especially for something simple like an oil change - avoid the place not worth the headache.

Mike and his team are not only friendly but so efficient. If they see any additional work that needs to be done they take care of it for free (of course pending the nature and cost of the work). Do not take your car here, I requested an oil change, tune up and brakes and they didn t do the oil change and almost destroyed my engine and they played dumb when I confronted them. I inherited my uncle's beloved vehicle. It was never touched by a mechanic in its life. I however do not have the facilities or room to work on my own vehicle. After asking around, Harlan's Automotive was the name that kept coming up. Everyone at Harlan's is very friendly and helped me get my new vehicle in and out of the shop quickly. Harlan's will now be my go-to and I recommend them to anyone who is looking for an honest auto repair facility.

Exploitative mechanics charging exorbitant price for an oil change especially when they feel you know nothing about cars. Never again for an oil change and may not even use them for a regular mechanical fix.

They made me pay for an oil changed but never fixed and played it off as if it was ready its unprofessional to try to cheap there customers because there's 0 reason I see you put my car up but I have 0 new oil in fact I think they emptied it made me pay with a smile on there face not a trustworthy place true enough I should have checked before I left but if testing a new place to get my stuff done I know not to come back here update I went back to see what I could do the mechanic got hostile with me and my family and kept telling us to leave without fixing the problem he kept telling us to leave his place knowing he doesn't own hit its his in-laws but the fact he yelled at old customers across the company lot still yelling for us to leave while we try to resolve the same issue he refused to acknowledge so another employee stood in to help the situation but even thought he was dismissed from the entire conversation he kept returning to put his Two cents in and not helping the situation he kept antagonizing us for his faults saying we needed to move for other customers what about the customers who you've shown nothing but hostility towards coming back to the place where you messed up and knows you messed up and still has the audacity to come at my family side ways on there mess up poor customer service skills to this employeeIf it wasn't for the owners actual nephew this would have been the worst spot to go to especially if it's there fault to begin with

Always great. Fast and honest. Super busy shop, they're probably not going to find anything not obvious to a trained mechanic. If they tell you you need something done, you do. I've been going here for 20yrs...

Michael has been open and honest with what's going on with my vehicles. They do good work and aren't just looking for a mark up. There are shops that try to take advantage of people that aren't familiar with auto maintenance and they've never done that with my me or my wife.

Be careful with price, they will make up the price .Usually I bring the car, oil change very cheap . But One time my wife bring the car for oil change, they charge 2 times more expensive. I can say they are cheating with price. Ask the price before do anything with them.

If I could give more stars I would: This is THE BEST auto shop in the Bay area or even in the US.They are honest, speedy, reasonable, efficient and friendly.I have been going there for years and I would definitely NEVER go anywhere else!Michael, the owner, loves cars and knows mechanics inside and out. He always knows and resolves the solution to your problem. He even rescued my dog when it got stuck under my seat - no problem!Thank you Michael for being the best mechanic in the world!

Always done early, always good value, always fixed right. We've even taken in odd-ball problems and they've worked them out. They'll work on new cars and old clunkers. Their oil changes are speedier and cheaper than those quick-change places AND they never try to sell you extra service you don't need.

I have been going to this place for over twenty years and I recommend it to all friends and family. Michael is very honest man and they do a great job no matter what make/model car and very reasonable price. If you looking for honest mechanic to take your car this is the place.

Good Honest mechanic for almost anything mechanical. Drop in appointments allowed for oil and radiator service. Cannot recommend them highly enough. Can't thank the great work that then men at Harlan's enough for the quick and honest work they do at that shop. Really hard to find in today's world. Give them a call and the gentleman over the phone is fast to answer & I was lucky enough for the shop to squeeze me in for an oil change! Not even 20 mins and I'm back on the road! Thank you

This is my review for Harlan s Automotive. I normally do not leave reviews to start off but what they did for deserves one. I got a call from my mother saying my Aunt was gravely I ll with just days left to live. I packed everything up and drove the 14 hrs to Murray, KY from Midland TX. As soon as I pulled into the driveway my transmission went out. As a Murray native I knew a couple places to call but they were booked up for at least a week and I didn t have that kind of time off cleared with my company. I called Harlan s and they took it in immediately. I explained my situation and they told me the timeframe was about 3 days for the repair. They went even further and asked if they could help me personally with anything to help me through the crisis. Their thoughtfulness was above and beyond. Harlan s projected timeframe was spot on. They had it all fixed and ready. I will most certainly return all my vehicles to them in the future if the occasion arises. Thank you for everything you did for me and my family.

Hi, I was just at harlans cause my car was making a really weird noise. Michael,the main guy there, took it for a short ride with me in the passenger seat. Ya, allot of noise, he joked with me. It turned out it was just that flap thingy that goes in front of your weel to protect stuff from splashing up from below into the engine area. He took it off & only charged me 20 dollars for everything. As well as recommending a cool auto body shop to install & order a new one. Every time I've been to him hese always super honest, fast, & never recommends unessesary work. I gave harlans 5 stars cause he has integrity & a reasonable rate, a crowning virtue for a mechanic. Hope this review was encouraging for anyone timid about finding an honest mechanic whose competent.
