This review is re their service shop.I paid $520 for the 4,000 mile service on my Yamaha MTT09. They left the ambient air temperature sensor dangling under the airbox where it was inaccessible and no longer worked. Fixing it required removing all plastics, the gas tank, and the airbox. When I went to address their mistake myself, I found that the hose clamps on all three air cleaner joints had been left loose, not even finger tight. Not the kind of attention to detail I would expect for the rates they charge. Go to Advanced Cycle Services instead.

I came here to buy a Honda Foreman SRA 4x4 and repeatedly told this to the sales guy. He told me they had a deal on the lower power 420CC model that had identical specs aside from the engine size. Turns out he sold me a Honda Rancher (ya I realize now there is no 420CC Foreman). The specs are not the same. No front locker and higher gearing is going to be a bit of a problem I'm going to need to work around now on my muddy steep property. It'll probably be fine but time will tell.I absolutely should have checked over the paperwork better, but that really isn't cool to be lied to.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Take your business elsewhere! I bought a scooter here at the beginning of July 2023. I paid full price for it, and a top case with necessary mounting parts. I was told shortly after purchase case and other parts on back order until November of this year which is not cool in itself, but I was patient and figured I would just wait, but unhappy as I need the extra storage. I called on chance last week to see if there was any update. I was told case was in stock, but mounting hardware on back order until JANUARY 2024! I told them to forget it and I wanted my money back, They said they would refund, but would CHARGE ME A 20% RESTOCKING FEE! I m shocked and disappointed they think this is reasonable on their part. Very dissatisfied, Take your business elsewhere

The service department quoted me a full hour of labor to drive fork seals into clean, rebuilt forks, off the bike. For those that haven't done this job, it takes less than 5 minutes and that Includes putting the tool away. I went to santa clara cycle accessories and they did it same day in less than 10 minutes for a very reasonable price. Gp also quoted $50 to clear the check engine light (for a speed sensor mismatch) on my yamaha that I bought from them and had backed in with the seat off and the diagnostic cable hanging out. So a square of electrical tape over the dash light it is... I understand that having quality work with OEM parts done by trained techs costs money, however, GP's inflexible billing does not represent a fair proposal for small jobs and comes off as greedy. The parts department has delivered parts as ordered, on time.

Bad customer service, I understand everything has a markup. However you do not need to be rude about it. I tried negotiating on a bike, only to get a response - no we do not negotiate go buy it somewhere else- I would have just paid the markup, it was worth a try, however his bad attitude made me not want to buy a new bike here. Ended up buying my bike at Superbike showroom in Sac. People are willing to drive further for the service we deserve.

I was looking for two hard to come by bikes, one for me and one for my son. We wanted the same e-bike, but in our own sizes. Russell was awesome. They had the bike in stock for my son but not for me. So Russell referred me to another bike shop he knew had what I wanted. I got both bikes secured, flew into San Jose, yes, I did. My son drove 4 hours himself. When we arrived my son's bike was ready and waiting. We had them do some quick customizations while we got lunch. We were soon on the road and on the trails. Thank you Russell and GP!

You find a bike on their website, go into the shop... and like magic, it's about $500 more. I want the base price to be the base price website or in store

I have been going to GP Sports for more than 20 years. They offer a great selection of products, knowledgeable and passionate staff, as well as extremely fair pricing. In my opinion, they are the Bay Area's best motorcycle and e-bike dealer. Thank you to the team at GP Sports for always taking care of me and my family!

Found the perfect bike for transitioning from a Harley to street bike. Everything from quality, price, service are top marks. The extended warranty i bought was within the budget too. I was able to also find affordable insurance. Definitely worth the trip. Thanks George and Carlos.

First time purchase at GP Sports and couldn't be happier with the experience. Was referred to Russ by a buddy based on not only the purchasing experience but even more for post sale support. If your in the market for a Specialized look no further!

Great bunch of people over here. Wanted a Shoei Fire Orange sheild & they were the only shop in the Bay Area that stocked it. No problems holding it for me & were open until 6pm making it extra convenient for me to mosy on down there from Redwood City. Thanks again & will call if I need anything else.

Bad customer service.... got a recall letter from yamaha, and said any yamaha authorized dealership would get it done for free and yamaha will pay for it. Called gp sports, they said they had plenty of the parts In stock, so I made an appointment to go in early in the morning, dropped off my bike, they told me it will be done in the afternoon, before I left, I made sure again that had the parts and they said they do have some in the back as they always keep them in house. So I left, later on they called me back saying the bike is ready for pick up ,but they couldn't find the parts, someone took it and now they just placed an order for me that I will have to come back again for it, and it would only take a couple days, and they will call me once they receive it. Likewise as other people, never called me back within the time frame they told me, so I called a week later, they said they haven't received my part, and they lost the tracking to it, but should be here in the next couple days and they will call me....2 months has passed by, heard nothing from them. Won't do business with them again... didn't even mention purchasing experience....

Bought a new bike from them. Everything went great, paid it in full the same day I went. Picked up the bike the next day & drove it home. About 2 weeks pass by & I start getting aggressive, unprofessional messages that they made a mistake & meant to charge me $1,200 more than what I had paid them. I had already received the pink slip in the mail by then. They were calling & bugging me every other day for the mistake they made on their end. Next thing you know I get constant mail sent to my home address about how they are going to sue me & hold me accountable. Threats keep coming in, I tried to communicate with them to resolve the issue however at this point they are just harassing me & constantly threatening me. If I had known they were going to charge me $1,000+ more.I would have not purchased that bike or gone with a different bikeI can only take so much. I'm super busy with my job. At the time I was working 7 days a week. I take lose a day of work to go on personal to fix the issue. These guys are basically yelling at me & being extremely hostile & aggressive. Out of my own personal safety, I pay the amount, I put on my credit card since I didn't really have a option. These people don't care about their customers, it seems they are just trying to exploit people. They were nice until they made the mistake after that they treated me like garbage. I would never buy a bike from them again. Never recommending this place to anybody. Not even for a pair of gloves.

I can walk around and sit on bikes. As I have the whole showroom without feeling supervise. It's really a few moments before narrowing down the bikes that deserve to be talked about.

Awesome experience buying two bikes from them. My buddy bought a Grom and I got an Africa Twin. Super friendly staff and no pressure whatsoever to buy extras.

These guys messed up my registration, and failed to notify the DMV that the bike I bought did not come with plates.Carlos is extremely rude, and hung up the phone on me at least 3 times.I hope the owner has audio recording so he can hear how this situation was handled.situation was handled poorly, with disregard that I not only spent money here on a pre owned R6 but had a friend buy a brand new bike. The first conversation he told me to go to DMV (which I had already done, and was told to refer back to the dealer) and lie to them, tell them you lost it. ( then said, "oh you know DMV, they are dis organized, they do not know what they are doing, just say you lost them")Now why would I do that? I did not lose them. The bike did not come with it.Second conversation, "we parted ways when we gave you the keys of the bike, figure it out"Later that day, I had my friend who is a finance manager in the automotive industry call and explained to me, that he needed to request replacement plates when he saw the in and out had no actual plates.we could not get anywhere with this Carlos guy, besides hanging up and saying "oh sorry, when I feel people are talking to me a certain way I hang up"?Dude your in a customer service business. Now I had to go out of my way and open a case with DMV, and escalate this situation over them not filing my DMV paperwork correctly.I will update how things go. I will escalate this as far as it can, and take legal advice if need to. (as I bought this bike as a commuter)I work in customer service and this is not the way you treat ANY client. Again I hope you guys record phone conversation and the owner sees how paying customers get treated.my experience got all twisted up, over what? Carlos doing the DMV paperwork incorrectly and not taking accountability and fixing the issue at hand. bad service, bad service.

Would absolutely get another bike here and I will do all my services here while I m in the area.

My bike had been sitting for a few years and the carburetor was not happy. These guys whipped it back into shape and now it runs flawless. I'm also impressed with the communication and quicker than expected turnaround. Will definitely do business again and recommend to anyone seeking great service. Thanks Pete and Crew - Matt

We called and spoke to Carlos about a Raptor they had. He took my husbands information and never called back with the price. Poor customer service, we ll be taking our business somewhere they care enough about our business to call us back.

Honestly, I was a little worried after I saw some reviews here but I had a great experience there.I have contacted them via email and asked them get everything prepared for me to buy a bike. The day I got there, everything was ready and in less than two hours, we were done with paperwork. They offered me a very good discount on accessories and also a FREE same day delivery. As it is my very first bike ever, all of them helped me patiently and answered all my questions. Especially, the guy who delivered the bike, explained everything step by step and made sure I understood.Long story short, wonderful experience.

Very poor customer service from the sales department. After reading other reviews and the arrogant replies from the shop, it's clear that my experience is not an isolated incident. It's too bad, because the repair shop did an excellent job and I hate lumping them in with a bad review. I would not recommend buying or selling a bike here.

I bought a motorcycle from GP Sports previously, fair price/fair fees, and was on a waiting list #26 or so for Tenere 700, get a phone call today - ohh yeah there is one coming in the next 2 weeks, exciting right?! Then I mentioned I heard about some dealerships asking for more $$$ for the bike over MSRP. They told me this for a $10k bike, we want $1000 more.(I am providing 2 starts because of Peter, the service manager took good care of us - I may not buy a bike from GP Sports but I would consider servicing one there for sure. One bad experience does not mean a completely bad shop)To be fair the sales manager told me "The business must increase the fees to keep the doors open". I've explained you can do this via handling fees and gradually increase the prices, telling the customer waiting for 4-6 months (I can't even recall how long) we are going to charge you a markup of $1000, and this is how life is, is absolutely not the right way to retain customers. You could have also called your customers and advised them in advance, fees will be going up, would you like to remain on the list or go somewhere else, or buy a BMW for example (just bought one, they are not jacking up the prices - and customers keep coming back - gee, what a novel idea of retaining business).I will never buy a motorcycle from your dealership again. Not even if you tried to give it to me for free, I would refuse. (Try it, seriously). It is a matter of principle, motorcycle shops which truly give a hoot about their customers are the ones who survive. I do hope your dealership learns from this, before you are forced to close your doors as you are so concerned about and as so many others have over the years.Regards,George Peek"A customer who will buy a Tenere from another dealership, or a BMW 750/850 if this happens to him again from a Yamaha dealership"P.S. The business manager responded below and based on her response it is very clear this business is tone deaf completely missing the point. It's not what you did, it's how you did it. I am sure there will be customers willing to pay GP Sports 10% extra, but in this economy, GP Sports will quickly realize folks will not have the luxury to throw money at the dealership. I patiently waited for months with your dealership expecting you would keep your word on MSRP, if you would have told me you would charge me 10% extra over MSRP I would have never given you a deposit and waste my time. You know why BMW customers keep coming back? Because BMW cares about their customers! Customer retention, if customers feel like they are still getting a great deal will come back, those feel they got taken advantage of will not.

Been using this place for years. I tried to order a $22 part and apparently only $16 went through on my credit card so they call me for the other $8. I asked them can I pay it when the part comes in? They said no you have to have it all up front. They have my info on file and my $16 but they can't order the part and then let me pay the remaining $8 when I come and pick it up that's pretty sad. I've been in business owner and that's just bad business.Update, they charged my card twice! Yet they didn't order my part or refund my money.
