5j Subaru was the only shop in the area that was willing to rebuild my manual transmission for my 2014 crosstrek. They did an amazing job and I m so happy with the repair. Jose was very communicative and the price was very fair. Go here if you are looking for quality service on your Subaru.

5 J s helped replaced my cam seals and cam sprockets on my STI. Jose was very attentive and always provided me with updates.I would definitely come back and refer my friends to their shop. They are a very professional and knowledgeable shop.

Excellent mechanic work at a very fair price. They did an excellent job on my radiator and oil drain pan on my wrx. Get your subaru work done here instead of the stealership and thank me later .

Sold me a bent transmission pan that would not seal correctly. Was told pan was not bent great shape. Showed up pan was spray painted to cover the scrapes from the bottom. Had a mechanic shop install pan. Pan was leaking had shop reseal pan let me know again pan was bent. After second reseal I had shop purchase a new pan for the same price as they sold me a used one for. Called the shop let them know situation they did not want to fix there mistake. So I'm out almost $300 bucks thanks to this shop. Just trying to make a quick sale. Told them I was driving 1k miles yet they still lied to me and lead me on. All over a $80 bent pan they sold me they swore was like new. Yeah after the spray paint yall used to cover up how messed up the pan was. Shops have no problem screwing people that don't know much over to make a quick buck. BE WEARY ABOUT COMING TO THIS SHOP. IF YOU ARE UNSATISFIED AND WRITE A REVIEW. JOSE WILL CALL YOU AND HARRASS YOU! Please leave me alone. This is not professional at all! Regardless of you apologizing to me. It's still not PROFESIONAL to lie about a part spray paint it cover it up then call and harrass me after I have a write to write a review!

5J s is excellent - they are very thorough and transparent with everything they do. The communication is excellent. I would highly recommend them for routine maintenance and diagnosing anything else that comes up!

These 5J's guys, bottom line, did an excellent job.My 2008 Outback 2.5i needed the head gaskets replaced, among other things, and shoped the best bay area Subaru shops. Settled on these dudes. Agreed to have the engine pulled so the heads could be milled (this is the right way, btw), and with the timing belt and many other proactive parts replaced, this is what makes sense in the boxer engine world. It a big job, not cheap either.Jose was my go-to guy, being straight and clear from start to finish. He was willing to add upgraded over OEM parts without issue. Several of the other highly rated Subaru shops I got quotes from, refused anything other than factory. Thanks 5J's!The engine was done right, and the work was clean. With about 750 miles on it now, it runs kitten smooth, strong, and I'm very happy with the overall work.Service: Engine repair

I m on a road-trip from Ohio. On Friday my dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. Went to Autozone and the scan showed CVT solenoid issue. Called 5J and spoke to Jose. He said I could bring the car in immediately. The next morning they did a diagnostic and found out it really was the solenoid. Fortunately parts were at dealer stock so they got it done the same day. They stayed open passed closing so I could pick up my Outback. Was worried my road-trip was gonna be cut short but 5J took care of me. Price was really reasonable and I m super stoked!

Jose and his team are awesome! Every time I have taken my Subaru there it is a pleasant experience and I have saved money from their reasonable prices and genuine recommendations. Jose was quick to respond and got me in quickly for some brakes and wheel bearing repairs. He was very good about giving me updates and time estimates. Never had such a good experience with a local mechanic. Highly recommend for your Subaru needs.

My throwout bearing went out in my Subaru Crosstrek and after getting quotes from multiple shops in the area Jose from 5 Js Subaru was by far the most fair. He let me bring in my car on a Saturday for convenience and had it completely done on the following Monday. He even saved me money by recommending to just replace the throwout bearing rather than the whole clutch assembly that I originally requested. If you want an honest, hardworking, and passionate about their work mechanics then this is the place.

5 J's Subaru shop was great. Called and got my quote within the same day. Great customer service and great quote price which had a complete break down. Dropped my car off at 8am on Monday and was driving home Tuesday before 6:30. Got a stage 2 kit installed and seems to be running great. I would recommend 5J's and will defiantly be my mechanic for all jobs and questions I have in the future.

I had my breaks fixed here. Not only was it super fast friendly easy service it was so nice being able to meet Tommy and Cooper! They definitely made my day better. Jose is beyond professional and I love that attitude. We need more people like Jose in the bay area!!! Very talented, professional, fast and friendly service. I found that my breaks have been fixed and they went the extra mile to check my studs are all okay on my tires as well! thank you 5 J's Subaru!

Scheduled some time to have my oil changed, break fluid flushed/cleaned and coolant burped.Only took a couple hours (compared to overnight at some places) so I m super happy with the turn around.The shop was clean and everyone (including the 2 lovely shop dogs) were super kind and welcoming. I was recommended this shop by a friend and I m super happy I took that recommendation.10/10 would get my broken Subaru fixed here againServices: Auto maintenance, Oil change

Honest service and very friendly staff.We took our car to 5 J's for a suspected wheel bearing issue. They immediately diagnosed the problem and did a perfect job fixing it at a great price and on time.Highly recommended! Got my engine built at 5J's. Great service and great communication. Got everything done that they recommended. I drove from over 100 miles one way even for the recommended oil changes after the build. Just hit the 1000 mile breakin period. They inspected and drove the car to make sure everything was good, of course everything was great. Carlos and Jose are great and honest. The dogs are kool too super friendly. I will recommended 5J's to anyone, specially for Subarus. They are passionate about Subarus. 3 year warranty can't beat it.Service: Engine repair

Can t say enough good things about 5 J s. They were great. I was having a belt/belt pulley issue on my Outback and they were able to identify the problem and get it fixed in a very timely manner at a great price. Jose was my contact and throughout the process he kept me in the loop and even took the time to show me the parts replaced after the repair was complete. My experience with Subaru vehicles has not been a good one. As a first time buyer of a Forester, (bought off original owner) I was excited to get an all wheel drive vehicle. I knew about the head gasket failures and had receipts to show they had been fixed 30K ago. Well the head gasket failed and I was contemplating dumping the vehicle due to expensive repairs. I found 5J's Subaru and it was the best thing for my Subaru and myself. Quality work, excellent family run business with exceptional people working there. I spoke with the owner for 10 minutes on the phone and he was completely professional and courteous. Received my Subaru complete with new head gasket and rad/hoses/pulley/tension, etc.. The head gasket on a Subaru is very expensive to have done. 5J's was reasonable and to me it was more about the quality of work that I felt was worth price. I would recommend this auto repair business!Eric.

Highly recommend to all Subaru, Saabaru, Toyobaru drivers! Owner is communicative and professional, and the work done is high quality at really reasonable prices. Clearly they take pride in what they re doing here, and have a love for Subarus. Also very honest will not recommend work you don t need.Just go!they also have a few shaded chairs outside under a lemon tree if you re waiting for service completion. and nice dogs to hang out with.

5J's saved my car!My 2010 WRX began randomly shutting off while driving around. I initially took it to the Subaru dealership in Livermore for a diagnostic to address the problem. I suspected the fuel pump was going bad or there was an electrical issue somewhere and asked their techs to check the fuel pump for degradation. I knew this would be a tricky job as the engine only cut out a few times in the past 200 miles and the dealership couldn't replicate the issue. So without codes, I felt my suggestion may be a good place for them to start.These "certified" Subaru techs came back to me an insisted that the fuel pump was fine and there were no electrical issues to be found. They instead suggested I get my valves adjusted, and it would cost $6500!! More than I even owe on the car. At that point they said to just sell the car to them instead.So I took it to 5J's. They didn't see any reason to adjust valves and they instead went straight to checking the fuel pump. And problem found! A fried electrical pin in fuel pump was causing my car to shut off. They replaced it and the car has had no issues since. The price was very reasonable and I was given constant and detailed updates by their techs, with pictures and code reports. Great service and I would highly recommend to any Subaru owner! Don't take it to the scammers at the dealership!

Awesome place to take your Subaru. My 2014 Forester broke down three days before Christmas and they were able to take care of it within 24-36 hours. Every other place locally had no openings until long after Christmas. Very quick, reliable and affordable. Super friendly staff, very honest and knowledgeable guys as well. I have taken my car to 5Js for about 2 years now for huge jobs like an engine rebuild to small jobs like pulley replacements. No matter what the job was, it was done in a very timely manner and for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend 5Js if you're looking for a Subaru Specialist.
