I was looking for a trustworthy Audi mechanic in the city, and heard about VAS from a fellow enthusiast. They ve been great at communicating throughout the repair process and setting expectations for the cost before doing any work.It s also rare for a mechanic to appreciate my knowledge of the car and take my perspective into account, and VAS definitely does that. Highly recommend!

Kenny was super nice and seems like a very honest person. My car went in for service and he went through everything found a few things that need attention but gave the truth and said what things could wait and what in needed to do immediately. He only charged me a couple hundred and my car runs the best it's been in a while. Totally recommend Kenny and will be taking my moded out GTI to him from now on. Thanks Kenny!

Kenny helped us out so immensely.He was very nice and helped us understand the details to make a good decision along the way.Hope we don't have any more troubles with our EOS but if we do we'll come back again immediately

As someone who has owned and worked on Audi/VW cars my whole life, this team cannot be beat. They have extensive knowledge of every single vehicle and drivetrain and will do the job the right way every single time. I wouldn't trust my cars with anyone else.

Kenny and his son are super cool to work with. Definitely a lot more affordable than the other places around the Bay Area. They are honest and fast with their works. They took 2 days to finish service my RS5 and change control arms, Amazing! I m so glad there are still honest mechanics out here. Thank you Kenny!

They were very helpful here and completely knowledgeable in their industry. I took my 2015 Audi in for sunroof repair and they were able to provide me with exactly what was wrong along with other details in the car. Pricing is very fair and they are honest with repairs + cost, up front. Highly recommend!

My wife and I recently moved to the city and were recommended to take our Audi Allroad to VAS for any and all service needs. Kenny and his team are fantastic, very knowledgeable and have many years of experience.We recently had an issue with our car that made the vehicle almost inoperable. After patiently listening to me explain strange and unique symptoms, the car was dropped off, diagnosed quickly, repaired and back on the road within 24 hours. I have an older VW diesel Golf. I noticed my clutch slipping and found these guys as on a recommendation. With any new mechanic there is always a bit of hesitation, but they made me feel welcome. I used to be a mechanic as well so I know a few things and they immediately impressed me with their deep knowledge of my car in particular. They did brakes, clutch replacement and oil in basically one day. That blew me away. I've had the car our for a few long drives to test out the work and it is flawless. Absolutely money well spent. There is a reason this shop has so many 5 star reviews. Kenny and his team do exceptional work. I brought my Q5 in to have an oil leak repaired. Another shop had quoted me at $2800 without explaining what was going to be done to my car. Kenny walked me through where the leak was and different options on how to fix it. After repairing the leak, he showed me all the old parts that were replaced and even had me bring my vehicle in a week later to confirm there were no more leaks. I saved a lot of money by choosing them. They are very professional and quick. Great guys to work with.

What a find this place is!! If you need repairs stop searching, this is THE place in SF to take your car.Superior service, fast, professional and highly knowledgable.This is THE place to bring your car - Kenny , the owner is a master mechanic with decades of experience many of which we at the SF Audi dealer/service center. He was able to immediately identify the issue with my Audi that my previous mechanic was baffled by. I called Vas Motor Works and within 30 minutes got a call back and a next day appointment. Kenny was extremely communicative throughout the repair process regarding what exactly needed to be done, the costs and timeframe, which I really appreciated. They are also very competitively priced.All in all this was a really excellent experience I cannot recommend them enough.Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto maintenance

What a RIPOFF!! I called in to inquire about replacing a leaking brake master cylinder for an older 2005 VW and they quoted me WHOPPING $400 dollars just for labor! While other repair shops quoted me between $250 to $275 since I was savvy enough to call around first. This type of repair is not "brain surgery" and just a matter of unbolting and bolting parts then bleeding the lines. Not a difficult job for experienced mechanics and can probably do it in their sleep. This job is certainly not worth paying someone a "$400" for an hour and a half worth of work. What ripoff this place is! I thought since it was family owned it would be more honest and fair but, they obviously are bleeding customers dry!! Ignorance is bliss - if you don't know about cars and don't know how to "QUALIFY" the work/job versus the cost, then you won't know you're getting screwed over like this place does. No wonder why they have such a fancy shop . People that "don't know" about cars and how to qualify work vs. Cost should not comment on how good a repair shop is out of ignorance! $400 dollars???! I don't think so. Keep your greed and I'll take my business elsewhere.

Kenny & Alvin are the absolute best! I had a great experience getting routine maintenance here a few months ago. Yesterday, the coolant reservoir tank in my car burst in Tahoe. I called many shops in the area, but they all estimated a fix would take multiple days, just to order the part alone. Long story short, the best option I could find (believe it or not) ended up being towing my car allll the way back to SF just to see Kenny. He was responsive and accommodating on the phone each time I called. I left the car at his shop around 1pm, and he had the car fixed a few hours later. I was happy with the price, especially because Kenny waived standard fees as the replacement was straightforward. Before I left, I asked if they could do a general check (air in the tires, top off the oil, etc.). Alvin told me he'd done this already for me, which I think shows how thorough and generous they are. I'd recommend them to anyone!

Experienced, professional, fantastic service. Went so far above and beyond. They were able quickly diagnose and repair my engine after the dealership could not. They also did a thorough inspection and let me know I had a screw in my new tires so I was able to have that patched afterward and gave me a written plan of what to expect may need to be repaired down the line. I was due for a 70 K service and my back up camera light stopped functioning. I brought my Audi A3 to VAS and he was able to perform the service and repair the wiring for the back up camera in the same day and at a reasonable price. Kenny is amazing. Hard to find a trustworthy auto mechanic and Kenny is just that. His prices are very reasonable and much cheaper than Royal Motors for same exact repairs on my Audi A4. I know because I got quotes from both about a year ago and elected to have Kenny do the work. My most recent experience was excellent. I had a coolant leak and called him up just before closing time. He told me to bring it in the next morning. He checked it out and gave me the good news that it wasn t the radiator, just a shredded O-ring near the coolant temperature sensor. He had the car repaired by early afternoon that same day. What a relief! I will continues using Kenny for car repairs and service and I fully recommend him to others.

Kenny was great! Honest and up front and took my car in twice before leaving for a convention. Honestly I was grateful to know that a good friend of mine is also a loyal customer! All the reviews are true! Honest, reasonable and easy to work with. He even taught me a few things about my car and confirmed some information that I found out about my car. Kenny and everybody at VAS Motor Works are awesome! They performed a thorough diagnostic for me after I went to a place that only looked into one issue. And then they completed the repair quickly and expertly! If you have a Volkswagen, this is the place to go, I could tell they had extensive knowledge about typical issues with the VW cars. Kenny and Alvin are awesome and extremely knowledgeable. I always look forward to going there and I have a hard time leaving but I have to let them get back to work! I leave knowing they did excellent work. Been bring my VWs here for a few years now and I'll never go anywhere else.

Honest mechanics that are patient and go way beyond the scope of work expected. Kenny is amazing. I've worked with him twice. Once in 5/18 when I had a major coolant leak that I feared would be costly. He was really efficient and excellent at communicating with me. Turned out to be only a faulty radiator cap for $25. I'm sure there are plenty of mechanics out there that would have gauged me for more service, but not Kenny.My most recent experience speaks to his integrity and clear knowledge of Audi's. This time my Audi broke down and I had to have it towed to my home in the east bay so I brought it to a local mechanic for convenience. The local mechanic claimed 3 items needed to be replaced; 2 water pumps and a new thermostat. The estimate provided at that mechanic was $2200. I called Kenny to discuss and he never spoke ill of the other mechanic but explained in his many years working on Audi's that about 80% of the time it is just the thermostat. The local mechanic apparently just assumed the pumps were bad. Kenny ended up saving me $1700 AND did this by advising me on what to tell the local mechanic, he never ended up making any $ off of this service only making a customer for life!

Great working with Kenny and his team. Quickly identified my issue (slipping clutch 2017 GTI Manual) and remedied with full replacement. Very competitive pricing. Good communication about timeline throughout - also identified issue with wheel tracking and sorted via third party quickly. Honest, Smart, Considerate and Good sense of humor. I have been looking for an Audi specialist in the city for a long time and have finally found one in Kenny. I had a lame electrical issue and non functioning MMI on my B8 Avant, Kenny and team fixed it no problem and gave an accurate and honest check over on the rest of the car. I will be bring my car back for all future work.

A 2nd visit to VAS was needed due to water intrusion affecting the electronics and draining the battery (street parking is tough on a car). Kenny was patient, thorough and very fair with his diagnostic time and repairs. Still a strong recommendation.Kenny and his son Alvin were great. My Audi A8 electrical problem was complicated but Kenny knows what he is doing, can be fully trusted and really has his customers interest in mind. Good for them in this era of diminishing customer service and reliability. Use this Audi / VW shop with high confidence.Services: Electrical repair, Battery

I had an outstanding experience with VAS when I recently brought in my Audi Q5. I've gone to the Audi dealership service center since I bought the car used and never had an experience as positive as the one with VAS.I had a CV Joint Boot replaced and I had my coolant flushed and coolant tank replaced.The work was done on time and my experience working with Kenny was great. He kept the old parts from my car so that he could show me what was wrong with them when I picked up my car.Also, there was a similar car to mine in the shop so I asked what was wrong with that car. He went out of his way to walk me over to that car explain/show me everything they were working on with that car.He even gave me advice about known issues on my own car model to be aware of.I'll be back to VAS for all of my repair needs.Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance

VAS motor works was recommended to me by a friend. When I brought in my BMW for a flywheel/clutch upgrade, Kenny was very knowledgeable about potential issues and we spoke at length. I knew then and there that it would be done correctly.When I picked up the car, Kenny told me of a few minor leaks. I was impressed with his attention to details. The new FW/clutch setup works great, thanks Kenny!Great knowledgeable shop, fair prices, work completed in a timely manner. Couldn't expect much more from a business.

Kenny and Alvin are top notch! If you are past warranty/maintenance period and want people that care, take your car here, so much better than the dealer.
