Incredible shop, I had called over 10 different shop to have my new RV 31ft to be smog, so many people made so much fun in San Francisco. It was absolutely ridiculous., Chris was absolutely a gentleman. The staff are incredible and it s really nice to see a shop mechanic shop like this in San Francisco., they re not just a smoke but they do a lot of mechanic work and they are at first class Mechanic shop.

Talked to Gilbert about an issue with the coolant hose assembly on my Ford Transit Connect and he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, provided a fair estimate, and gave great personal advice rather than what would net the most revenue for the shop. The people at the smog shop are some of the friendliest and most helpful people I ve ever dealt with in the auto industry. The owner took hours out of his own day to help my car get smogged after multiple attempts and didn t charge me for the extra time. Really an amazing guy and I m glad I came here. I couldn t recommend enough.

I went in for a smog repair and they check my brakes and told me that I had to replace the brakes and rotors and bearings I change my own brakes I do not remember smog repair catalic converter $2,000.00 I had to pay I'm in the hospital I had to get the sticker when it rains it pours

I always come here when I need something on my car fixed or looked at. Chris and his staff are incredibly cordial, effective, and trustworthy. They will explain things to you till you understand them if you don't understand something. The first time I came here, my automobile had a complicated problem that might have cost me a lot of money. Chris gave a thorough explanation before saying, "It would be excellent for my financial situation if I tried to rectify this. So it's probably best if you just get rid of this car." Hence, I did. And that was all it took to win my business again. They have been a dream to work with ever since, and that was almost ten years ago.

Chris and his team are fantastic. I started bringing my car to them ~6 months ago and I won t use any other mechanic moving forward. They go above and beyond to provide an amazing customer service. Quick and easy smog test spot. For $65 bucks, it took about 15 minutes which was perfect timing since you can walk to Costco a couple blocks away to grab a coffee/hotdog/pizza.

This is my go-to spot anytime I need something fixed or looked at on my car. Chris and his team are extremely friendly, efficient and honest. If there is something that you don't understand, they will talk you through it until you do. The first time I came here, there was a complex and potentially expensive issue with my car. Chris explained it in detail and then said, "I could try to fix this and it would be great for me financially. But you'd probably be better off just moving on from this car." So, I did. And that's all it took to make me a repeat client. That was nearly a decade ago, and they've been a dream to work with ever since. Highly, highly recommended.

The got my car SMOG'ed that day while I waited. I didn't have to leave my car or even wait very long...They were done in about 30-40min and they had a full shop, but enough staff to handle the workload unlike at many SMOG stations. Reasonable prices and friendly service.

This message is for Chris the owner. Your other male receptionist needs to be fired for his unprofessional attitude. I called and asked if you guys could adjust the PSI on my turbo instead of installing a new one and instead he wanted to charge me another $300+ for a diagnostic which you had already done when I took it to you a few weeks ago. I was just calmly asking him a few questions and he got angry and said "WE AREN'T THE RIGHT SHOP FOR YOU" and hung up on me. You guys already charged me for a smog test which forced me to come back to you but you can keep that money. You are correct, you aren't the right shop for me.Service: Emissions testing

Came here for the Free Oil Change for first responders and I was so impressed. I drive a Honda Accord which for some reason requires full synthetic oil and I was totally expecting to pay the additional fees for synthetic but my oil change was 100% free. I really felt appreciated. When I called to make an appointment the person on the phone said just to come by with my badge but there would be a wait. When I showed up I was told they were trying their best to get everyone out ASAP but it would be a 45 minute wait. FORTY FIVE MINUTES?? THAT'S IT?? I've been going to Honda for the past seven years and you barely talk to a service rep in 45 minutes. My car was done in 45 minutes as promised! Will definitely spread the word! GREAT SERVICE!

Chris and his team go above an beyond to do the best work. I have brought my car in for a variety of maintenance and upgrades over the last couple of years and they always do top notch work. Like many reviewers here, I got referred by my mechanic, the legendary Boris Borisoff from Fell & Masonic Chevron.I've been with Boris for years and years, and trust him implicitly - especially when it comes to burgers.Chris at the Smog Shop is as sharp as they come. But the range of, and personality differences among his mechanics is the makings of a great sitcom.You couldn't do a mechanic shop sitcom without a bunch of mechanics with as diverse personalities as mechanical consistency.Of course, you can't convince anyone to make a media play unless they are doing it themselves already, even though we are in that era and it is wise to write your own show. Even if they are doing it, they don't want to hear your idea, they are off on their own directorial debut.So in two days these guys did seven major chores my care badly needed, never ran into a hitch and kept it positive, looked at obstacles and challenges, and frankly gave me as good a service as you could ask for.I was so glad to write this review - so many businesses out there today are insult added to injury when it comes to kiss and promise products and services.To lend contrast to how good these guys are, let me just say they are the opposite of my experience at the AT&T store in Alameda.Price, quality, service, personality and a big screen TV - The Smog Shop has it all..The LC

Man, I have to say this was one of the best experiences I have had in San Francisco! They were super busy, but Scott was doing an unbelievable job getting everyone in and out. I was there less than 30 minutes, thinking I was going to need a replacement of my muffler. They quickly determined it needed a bracket, and I was out of there. I will come back here any time, and recommend it to anyone!! Everyone is so nice, they took me back to show me what was wrong, and didn't make me feel like I was just one of many people to get through. Best shop in SF!
