Sully was very personable and professional, and my brakes were fixed within a few hours. Unlike with most of the other SF car maintenance shops, I didn't feel like "just a number," but instead felt like I was getting a thorough and personalized service.

I've taken my 2001 Honda to Sunset Auto Care a few times. Each time, Isaiah has been super helpful in explaining the issue, quickly getting the problem fixed and doing so at a reasonable price. I appreciate and find his up front, no nonsense approach refreshing. Despite AAA telling (or selling) me I needed a new battery, it was great to hear that wasn't the case during my recent visit to the shop. Thanks Sunset Auto Care for your services.

A few years ago my catalytic converter was stolen and I went through hell trying to get a check engine light removed once I had a replacement converter installed. Multiple mechanics either gave me a shrug or told me to shell out $6K for a new one and Isaiah at Sunset Auto Care was the only person I talked to who suggested changing out the oxygen sensors to a specific brand which cleared the check engine light for good. Not only that he also fixed an annoying squeaking sound in my car that the dealership was going to gouge me hundreds of dollars over before they would even fix it. Great guys, extremely reasonable prices, very clear about explaining problems and fixes. I won't take my car anywhere else.Service: General repairs & maintenance

My partner brought in our 2016 Ford Fiesta after the engine light being on for... longer than I'd like to admit. Isiah helped us out and was incredibly reasonable, realistic, and fair, and even stayed late in the day to assure the car was ready same day. The total price came out to be much less than we we expecting based on our experience at other auto shops. This place is badass.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto brake replacement

This is one of the last remaining, old school, honest mechanics. I came with my tail between my legs after I broke one of my spark plugs on my Camaro z28. Konrad told me what he is willing to do, and by the end of the day it was completed. He didn't upcharge me. He didn't try to do anything extra. It was just a fair and honest transaction. These days it's becoming more and more rare. I hope people read this message and consider supporting a local business like this one. Trust me, you won't regret it.Service: Auto engine tuning

Awhile back, I took my car in to get new tires (somewhere else) and after I left there was a "light scraping" noise I noticed when driving with the windows unrolled. When I finally got around to taking the car in to get serviced, I brought it to Isiah at Sunset Auto Care because I had enjoyed my experience with Konrad at Habelt previously.Isiah made the process of figuring out what the sound was easy, was transparent about how to fix it, and the experience left me feeling grateful to have landed at a garage like his. To anyone considering their options, Isiah and his team are top notch and you're in good hands.

I went to get my tire rotation at Valvoline, and they couldn t loosen my tired lock bolt. I called Sunset Auto Care, and Isaiah was happy to take a look. I didn t need an appointment. I went over to Isaiah, and he took off the tired lock bolt with ease. He completed the tire rotation service and half the price that Valvoline was charging. I highly recommend coming to Sunset: excellent service, super friendly, and great prices.

I went to Sunset Auto Care after getting a diagnostic test at a dealership because my check engine light came on. Isaiah was really helpful and gave me a quote over the phone for getting my knock sensor replaced and a brake fluid exchange. They didn't try to charge me more and said it could take longer and would let me know if that was the caseThis place was recommended to me on a Sunset Facebook group by a few people and I would definitely go there again! They were able to fix my knock sensor quickly and get the check engine light off. They didn't try to pressure me into other work, but explained a few things that I could get worked on that would help with the longevity of my vehicle and driving experience. Highly recommend, honestly the best experience I've had at a car shop before and very reasonably priced for the area. Thanks so much!

Amazing crew of mechanics. I'll be going here for any auto needs! My alternator smoked out in the middle of the night and I had AAA drop my Lexus RX350 in their lot. The next morning, they were able to check it out and give me a quote. They also saved me an unnecessary battery replacement. 5 star service!Service: ElectricalService: Electrical

This was my first time at Sunset Auto Care, and I had a great experience! I had a check engine light situation. I explained that my car is reaching its end, and I was really only taking care of what's necessary since I didn't want to sink too much more money into it. Isaiah was able to evaluate it, *thoroughly* advise me, get the necessary issues fixed, and now my tags aren't expired anymore :) all with a quick turnaround and fair pricing. I also walked away with a recommendation on my next used car purchase . Life is stressful, having a busted car adds so much more stress, so it's just such a big relief and SO nice to be able to work with folks like Isaiah who are kind, helpful, transparent, and knowledgable. I went to Sunset Auto Care the first time for the SFPD etching program . When checking in and during work, both the owner Isaiah and his partner Mark are very friendly and courteous answering questions with smiles.After work has been finished, I purposely requsted some quotes on certain maintainence issues that I had experienced with other shops previously and found that they are very open and to the point, no messing around, no hard sell, very competitive pricing and sometimes even suggested free examination prior to service decision.Sunset Auto Care has gained my trust and I like to express my appreciation for their free contribution to deterring theft in San Francisco .Service: General repairs & maintenance

The guys here are amazing! I took my car to two highly recommended mechanics and neither of them could figure out why my truck was stalling at random times. Then I took my truck in here and they had it fixed in two days. I was nervous it would stall again after I left the shop so they even test drove it for 15+ miles to make sure the problem was resolved. They were super communicative throughout the repair and their pricing was really reasonable. Couldn t recommend enough. .Service: General repairs & maintenance

Konrad and his team are amazing! He is very trustworthy, knowledgeable, and gets the job done. I have gotten my brakes fixed, brake lights changed, oil changed, and a few other services done here. Konrad will take the time to explain what is going on and what he plans to do. I moved to the complete opposite side of the city and still use his services, the only thing that will keep me from coming here is when I don't have a car anymore ~Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Oil change

We traveled to San Francisco from Hemet CA. With Granddaughters. For the marathon my wife was running! And we needed some service in our vehicle. And the owner was kind enough to service our vehicle! So we can travel safe back home! I just want to thank him for His time and his service he provided! Very highly recommend Habelt's Auto Services!

Wow! Such Excellent customer service! I am so impressed with my recent experience here. Conrad was so helpful, professional, honest + kind. He answered all my questions over the phone and when I dropped my car off he took the time to explain any additional concerns I had. He called to let me know he didn't think I needed a particular service I thought I needed done and completed the maintenance earlier than expected just a few hours later. I am so happy I've finally found 'my mechanic'. It's so rare to find a transparent, honest mechanic who charges very reasonably while performing high quality work. I'll be back!!

The owner is the most honest mechanic I have ever met. As a female, you always get conned when you go get your car fixed which really is sucks. This shop is different. The owner is genuine, smart, and gives you straight up good advise. If you can't help you, he sends you to the right hands. On top of providing free diagnostic he actually drove me between his shop and my home while my car is being checked on. Konrad is such a great guy and a competent mechanics. Conrad came extremely recommended to us when we bought a used car and now having used his services, I can easily see why. 1) He's a true diagnostician and while he easily could have convinced me that a far more expensive part(s) would have fixed my car issue he quickly identified the real problem (broken sway bar linkage) and had that car ready swiftly. Likewise, cost was extremely reasonable for any urban area in general, let alone the bay area. Just make sure to call ahead to arrange when to come in as he is understandably busy and from my interaction, wants to make sure he can give full attention to your car once you bring it in rather than having it sit for hours/days. I only wish my wife and I were staying in the bay area so that we could continue to provide repeat business.
