This shop is amazing. I brought my car in at the last minute for a flat tire, tire repair, and general checkup. They were friendly, quick and very affordable. They are knowledgeable and honest. Definitely using them as my go-to mechanic going forward. The tire they repaired for about $30 lasted me on a road trip from SF to Minneapolis and back and it s still going strong. So glad I found them.

Fair price on a nice new set of brakes and rotors that are coated specifically to prevent corrosion from the salty air in the outer sunset of San Francisco. Also got an oil change and replaced a few lights they noticed were out. Quick turnaround and great customer service. Will continue taking our Jeep to Rex s.

Took in my car for a check engine light issue. Over the phone they quoted me a hundred dollars to fix the knock sensor which is what they think was causing it but they weren t sure. I responded with Wow only a hundred? Ok perfect let s try it! . They had my car done quickly and when I can to pick it up I found out it wasn t a hundred dollars, but eight hundred dollars. I left almost in tears. Lesson learned. Always get a paper quote. Now, almost a thousand dollars poorer, my check engine light is BACK on and I will not be returning to Rex s.

My car wasn t moving and they were so kind to let me tow my car to their shop for an inspection on a very last minute notice. Even though it ended up being an electrical issue and they couldn t fix it they didn t charge me for the inspection. Such a kind and honest business! I would bring my car here again

Very friendly and nice service. I had a nail in my tire, showed up without an appointment and they patched it in less than 15 minutes. Great price too!

Had a flat tire. I called and was told to come by whenever is was convenient. Took all of 30 minutes and $30 to remove the screw in the tire and patch it up. New to the area but with service like that, they now have a new customer for my car service needs.

No Saturday hours, and they are open until 6pm, not 7, but they did an excellent job on my cars oil change.

Great service. These guys have worked on both my X5 and 335xi. and what's great about these guys as well as if you want to bring in your own parts to try and save a little money they'll let you do that which a lot of places won't. Very competitive rates and quality service.Edit: 5/2022 Had to take a car in today for a simple inspection for Getaround. They inspected the vehicle and completed the job in under an hour, love these guys!!!!

My work van got a large screw in a tire. Went to several gas stations and repair services with no able or willing to fix on a Friday late afternoon. It's a heavy van and most tow services will not tow it, so I was concerned. Luckily I Google and found Rex service . 5 minutes a day $30 later I was on my way..thanks guys!

While my experience at the shop was great I am not happy that the tire I paid to be repaired was not even fixed. I didn t realize it until the tire went flat again a few days later and I noticed the mail was still in the tire and no plug(see photo). I was planning to replace the tire to be safe anyway but was left disappointed by the service.

I took my Hyundai Elantra in and asked them for guidance on a whirring sound and some technical issues. they saw that I needed a drive belt change and an AC belt change. This entailed opening up the engine quite a bit, but they did it all within a day and for $260 - a great rate. Car runs beautifully now!

I went in with possible tire replacement. They were able to patch up my tire and serviced me within 10 minutes. They were super informative for all my questions (most mechanic shops belittle you or try to overcharge) and were so affordable. Def coming here if I have more auto needs!!!

Truly recommend it. My car is fixed very quickly with a reasonable price. The cost for oil change is the best compared to all of the auto services in SF bay area. My "check engine light on" problem is solved cleverly without changing the part. Honest and economical.

Stopped by without an appointment for a tire repair or replacement. Was back out with a patched tire in less than 30 mins. Super nice staff, quick service, and great price!

I had a knock/ticking starting to get louder on my Dodge and didn't want to pay the 190 at Dodge to have it "diagnosed" . I knew I needed an oil change anyway. Called Rex and asked how much for oil change, He quoted a low price, and said he would be happy to look into the noise. He pulled the belts and other things while changing the oil, diagnosed the problem,and told me to call dodge as it fix would be expensive but should still be in warranty. He was Right, saved me hundreds!! Great guy, Honest. Didn't charge me a dime more than quoted for cheap oil change. BTW, he doesn't always answer the phone on first ring, and yes, he comes to work late if he wants. But great and honest mechanic.

Finding a mechanic that won t overcharge you is like gold in the the city. I live around the corner, so I ve gone there several times over the years for mostly minor, but some major things. Anytime Rex identifies something simple that I can fix myself he tells me, and I can rely on him to tell me if something is important or not to fix.I came in yesterday with some minor door damage from being sideswiped that was preventing the passenger door from opening without a screeching noise. Since I didn t care what it looked like (this car is a total beater) He came over with a mallet and a lever and fixed the problem in five minutes flat and didn t even charge me!Can t get better than honest and capable.

Rex is one cool dude . he is Straight foward. His shop isbt the biggest . I suggest calling ahead of time to maks sure hes not busy . Rex knows his cars well. I recommend him in the sunset district in sam Francisco other than him close by is downtown or daily city or comma and south

Had brakes and tires for our 350z... fairly priced good work... what really got my loyalty is when I had mentioned that we had a metal on metal sound from our front end that the dealership said it's just the way the car sounds... well Jacky found out it was just a loose bolt...he tightened it and our car sounds like a new car!!!

Quick service with great customer service attitude. Helped me figure out the problem very quick with the fair charge on service and the replacement. The only problem is that this place could be cramped during rush hour.

Came by asking for a checkup, got me in within 15 minutes. The mechanic gave me a full rundown of under the hood and gave me an incredible price to fix a big problem. Going in next week to get it done

I asked for a full diagnostics test and he didn't they did not perform nothing they told me they opened up my differential and found metal shavings in my gears eating up and I still have the factory seal on my differential he did not open my differential whatsoever and I asked for a full diagnostics and he only told me about my rear end he did not inspect nothing on my vehicle they didn't even touch my vehicle

No nonsense shop, been going here since i moved to the neighborhood. They get the job done without costing you an arm and a leg, runs a a tight shop. Hard to find shops like this anywhere
