My friend's recommended Auto Portola and am I ever so glad that she did! I texted them for an estimate and got an immediate response (reasonable price) and scheduled an appointment. On the day of the appointment, I met ED and what a nice guy he is. Also, extremely knowledgeable and HONEST. Fixed my car the same day and did a great job! Thank you Ed & Portola Auto. You guys are now my go-to mechanics!

My go-to local mechanic! Super friendly, nice and explains in layman's terms what is going on. Gives me options on price ranges for parts and also consults on tradeoffs. Been taking my 2013 Audi Q5 here for years! CV joint replacement, brakes, rotors, etc.

Trustworthy mechanic need I say more? Ed has been working on my family s cars for years and he has always treated us with kindness and respect. He does quality work, he s very communicative, and honestly just a nice guy. Solves surprise issues as well as excellent maintenance work.

Ed is the man!!! I have been to many mechanics and finally found Ed. He is an expert at his craft (fixing cars), and his prices are unbeatable! Ed is more like family at this point. Ed is a great mechanic and honest too! Like the other reviews say, he quotes you only what you need and doesn t try to upswell you. Hilarious and hardworking guy. Also service is fast and efficient too. Ed also provides over the top service. I took my car in for a mirror replacement, and he checked my liquids and tires as well(even though I didn t ask him to). Will definitely be back !

I have been going to Ed/Portola Auto Service since September 2016. He consistently goes above and beyond in providing outstanding service. Ed is an exceptional and honest mechanic (rare in this day and age) who does quality work at extremely fair prices. Over the years I have trusted him for all my automotive needs - and will continue to have him as my mechanic for as long as I have a car. PS. Ed is an awesome mechanic, very knowledgeable and trustworthy. We have been taking our vehicles to him for many years and he has always been super honest with his assessments and estimates. Ed does great work and always uses factory parts. I'd give him more stars if I could!

The new owner Ed is a highly-skilled mechanic, an honest businessman, and a great guy! I've been getting my cars serviced by him ever since he was running the show at Twin Peaks Auto and is one of the few mechanics I respect/trust! Ed is very accommodating whenever possible, with quick and efficient service, top notch quality, and very affordable/competitive prices! I leave his shop a very pleased customer every time! Whatever shop that Ed is a part of, runs with the utmost highest ethical practices that he represents! I highly recommend him and Portola Auto Services!

Ed is the best. He shows you what he's doing on your car or what exactly your needs by texting you pics so you're fully informed. Without exception, Ed (the owner since September 2016), is a rarity in the Auto Mechanic industry: He has proven to be honest, reliable and extremely personable. I highly recommend Ed and he will be my mechanic for life (mine or my car's - whichever comes first). I can't express my pleasure enough concerning Ed's trustworthiness, reasonable pricing and his emphasis on providing exceptional customer service .

Ed was super friendly and genuine. I had only come in for my vehicle to get inspected, but Ed seemed very honest and had a good sense of humor! Heaven forbid I need any repairs to my vehicle. But if I do, I m coming back to this shop!

Ed has always been fair and gave me options honestly. Showed me the problem and explained the repair with options. Most garages will usually just tell you what needs repairing and that it. I appreciate the good customer service, and Eds knowledge.

Ed, the new business owner, is great. I take my car here all the time for maintenance and aftermarket parts. He used to work at Twin Peaks Auto, but recently acquired this shop. He's one of the only mechanics I trust with my car.

Whenever we take our vehicle to Portola Automotive, Ed is very courteous and will work with you to handle your problem. The prices are reasonable. We usually call ahead to give him a "heads up" so he can be prepared to assist us.

The facilities are clean and neat. The service was wonderful and affordable! The mechanic and his son are so nice and polite. 10/10 would recommend.Just so you know, this place does not offer services that require welding but they are happy to refer you to where you need to go :) Still a wonderful auto service!!!

**WARNING** **BILL CRAMMING**I went in for an oil change and a tire rotation. The tire rotation was free because I had previously purchased new tires, alignment and smog check.Paul called me around noon to tell me that he had also changed the air filter, cabin filter and was about to change the spark plugs. He insisted the spark plugs were worn and needed to be changed. All the filters and spark plugs were replaced by myself 8 months ago and were in good condition. I protested the charges and he said he'd wave the labor.I get there around 4:30pm to pickup my vehicle and was handed a bill for $122! The big guy told me there was nothing he could do about it and I had to wait for Paul to return. The bill had not been updated and I was still being charged for the unauthorized air filter work.Seriously, $122 for an oil change?I made it clear to him and (what I believe to be) his wife that those are unauthorized and they eventually took it off.They have lost a customer.- Jm

Paul is a nice guy running a honest business. I have walked out of his shop with out paying anything because there was a recall. I have known Paul for 5 years and when I need professional diagnostics he's to go to man to figure out what ever headache I have.

My wife realized at 5pm that she had a flat tire. I stopped by at about 5:30pm, to see if they would be able to help fix it, as the car was needed the next day. I asked what time they closed? Paul informed me 5pm. He then proceeded to fix the tire, torqued all the lug nuts and had me out the door in less then 30min.

these guys are crooks every since paul retired, he was e last honest man they gone quote me on a part that doesn't even exist for my car, they dont make it for my car , thinking i wasnt going to research it, then got the nerve to get mad at me when i told him about it, they looking at the highest part to put on your car in most likely not even buying the part ,just putting on some cheap part i would most defiantly ask for the box that the part came in afterward or before--females BEWARE of these guys
