I am required to service several vehicles for my job. I have used a lot of vendors here in the Bay Area and I haven t found a lot of honest mechanics. However, JR Auto exceeded my expectations and continues to strive to keep us happy and safe. He doesn t try to sell me work that doesn t need to be done and he always takes the time to explain what is going on.Jesus has been extremely helpful every time I bring a vehicle in. (I have been a customer 10+ times) each time I m treated excellent. I do recommend them to all of my friends. It truly is a relief having found this place.

Had an emergency with my engine stalling out by the side of the highway and had it towed to JR Automotive. Octavio was extremely patient, informative, and helpful + the shop was able to diagnose the issue and provide a fair estimate for parts and labor. Really appreciate their help in a stressful situation.

Been working with Jesus for years now- straight shooter and easy to work with. I have an older car and he understand the tradeoffs on work needed vs nice to do. Not pushy or shady, best mechanic I ve ever worked with.

This guy was amazing. He waited 2 hours until I got off work to pick up my car. As long as I'm in San Francisco I will never let anyone but him service my car. In fact I wont even buy a car unless he's with me. Work ethic integrity and a selfless act of compassion went a long way with me. Came in for a tire puncture repair. They plugged a hole and then said my tire was leaking slowly from the sidewall and they couldn't fix that. I took it home and looked for sidewall leaks with soapy water and didn't find any, but I did find another major puncture right next to the initial puncture they repaired. I took it back in the next day and they plugged that second puncture and two more in the tread of the tire that they found. Happy that they fixed the extra punctures without extra charge, but they were major leaks and I think they should have found them the first time, rather than me having to find it and bring it in a second time. Also, after picking my car up the second time, there are some areas where the leather on the driver's door has been scratched and ripped. Looks like a tool or something on someone's belt snagged it, or maybe they pushed a tool cart into the door while it was open.

Had a nail in my tire on a holiday. I already had to stay in town in a hotel the night before because I didn't want to drive on it. I went in for a power steering pump replacement and tie rod end tightening. Jesus was very professional and took the time to answer my questions about the issues with my car. He gave me his honest opinion about what needed to be replaced and what didn t instead of trying to overcharge me for unnecessary replacements on everything. Service was very quick (2 days) and the cost of service was a fair price.Service: General repairs & maintenance

HONEST auto repair service!! My car s service wrench popped up indicating B1 service was needed. The dealership wanted $992 to do the work! Thinking that was too high, I called West Wind Automotive on Valencia Street (very honest auto body shop) for a recommendation. They sent me to JR Automotive. I was hoping to be charged no more than $700, but after checking my engine thoroughly and realizing I had very low mileage on my car, Jesus told me most of the B1 service was unnecessary. He did only what was needed for a smooth running engine, finished the job ON TIME, and I was out the door for LESS THAN $250!!! Jesus and Raul are VERY HONEST MECHANICS!!!Service: Engine repair

My reliable mechanic shut down his business. I was referred to JR Automotive and Jose and his mechanics were amazing! I dreaded bringing in my older BMW thinking that the cost of repairing it would be more than what it s worth. They re prices are competitive and my car runs like new. Uhaul wasn't able to install a trailer hitch on my Smart Car (for bike rack and cargo rack). After I was able to buy the hitch cheap, I was struggling to find someone to install it. JR Automotive was nice enough to give it a look and provided a reasonable quote. I've switched to doing all my automotive work with them, just got tires rotated, oil change, and a leaking joint. One of the hardest things in life to find, is an honest auto mechanic. Well, we found them here with JR Automotive. They treat us like family and after countless opinions, they proved they were the right choice for us to belong to their customer list. I was changing oil and he told me is gonna take maximum 45 minutes and I was staying at his shop. after one hour and half I asked him are you done he said not yet I said what s wrong you told me 45 minutes and he said I will not do it take it to another mechanic after one hour and half. This s the worst mechanic I had everDon t recommend it at all
