Working with Albert Lam, the owner, was such a positive experience. He is extremely organized, understands what I need, and is readily available for appointments. I usually don t write reviews but this is the least I can do to thank Hays Auto-repair for their wonderful service. I went to Joe anxiously after an accident to get a quote, with a genuine smile he assured me that the car will be fixed seamlessly. He not only fixed the damage for the accident but also fixed all little body works, inspected the car, and changed the oil for no additional cost.During the repair, I was on a trip and he even kindly dropped off the car for me.The car is looking great as if there never was any accident.Services: Painting, Body & Trim, Vehicle Inspection, Auto body & trim replacement, Auto maintenance

2nd amazing experience at Hayes!We had previously had a fantastic experience with Joseph at Hayes so we came back to him recently when the hinge on the tailgate of our BMW broke. Not only did he and his team do a great job with the repairs, he also advised us on how to work with the insurance company to make sure the claim wouldn t impact our premium. On top of that, when we picked up the car he gave us a generous discount when he noticed we were expecting a baby. We hope we won t need much more auto body work, but if we do we will be coming back to Joseph at Hayes auto.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I brought my Ford Escape into Hayes Auto for bodywork after being advised by Geico. Joe immediately made me feel at ease and he provided excellent customer service. He helped me take care of all the insurance legwork and I received my car back with a brand new bumper expertly installed perfect paint match even took care of me with factory part! I have other cars in need of bodywork and will surely be a repeat customer. Have had wonderful experiences at Hayes Auto Repair! The staff is so personable and go above and beyond. Great care was taken for my repairs. They even washed the inside and outside as part of the repair. I could not recommend them enough!

I can t recommend this place enough. Everyone here is easy to work with, especially Albert Lam, and the whole process was extremely smooth and efficient. They always provided me updates about my car and took time to answer all of my questions.

Great service!!! 100% agree with all of the other good reviews here! I couldn't have been more impressed!!! They got my car finished quickly, they were super communicative (even when I was not due to work and travel) and they even touched up a scratch on my driver's side that wasn't related to my wreck! I accidentally hit the side of my car while I was backing up. All the other body shops said that I'd need a new door and etc. and it'd take a few weeks to be done. Hayes Auto was the only body shop that could meet my timeline and was willing to "fix" the door instead of replacing it. I decided to go with them and was able to pick up my car in a week and it looks brand new! They even cleaned in/outside of my car.

My got car got rear-ended and my insurance company gave me the closest location for an auto body repair shop. I feel so lucky at it was this place. The staff was welcoming, friendly and patient. An accident can really ruin your day/week and it really helps to have folks like this come to the rescue. All smiles and great service really helped lower my stress level. Not only that, my car looks and feels like it did when we first bought it. Joe and his team are super accommodating and even told me to come back if there were any more issues. It's reassuring that we found a top-notch auto body shop nearby. Definitely would recommend to anyone.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Wow, wow, WOW... I truly have never had such a positive and uplifting experience with an auto-anything---auto body repair, mechanic, insurance, you name it. Joseph's warmth, care, and eye for detail is more like one of a family member looking out for you. I've had the misfortune of needing auto body repairs twice in less than a year, and I had saved Hayes Auto Repair from researching options in the past. The intuitive skeptic I am, I thought, "Is it really possible for an auto shop to do such detailed and flawless work AND be greeted and represented with such hospitality?" Apparently so! And the proof is that I've gone back twice this year and I'm almost looking forward to the next time I need to do work at this shop. I know, it sounds ridiculous, but Joe went above and beyond, even detailing our car before giving it back to us. I only wish I had taken a before and after picture to share. He's made a potentially very stressful situation feel like coasting down the Pacific on a warm, sunny day. Thank you, a million times over.Service: Body & Trim

I went to 3 auto body shops and hayes was 50% and 20% less than the other 2. Joseph (owner) should be in the Hall of Fame for his commitment to excellence. Seamless from the beginning to the end. Had some minor cosmetic damage to the trim of my bumper. Joe was professional and a great communicator. He was able to get me a quick and accurate quote, ordered the correct parts, and had my repair completed the same day (after the parts arrived). I chose this shop for the reviews and they did not disappoint. Joseph greeted me immediately upon arrival and provided me with all of the information I needed. It was an insurance repair and not only were they completely professional but, they handled everything for me. Honestly, they exceeded my expectations - my car looks brand new! They were communicative about timing and even texted me photos of my car. I would definitely recommend Hayes Auto Repair and I would definitely come back should I ever need body work again.

After promptly returning my repaired vehicle in excellent condition, I noticed there was some noise coming from the right wheel area that had not been there before my accident. As one could only hear the sound driving on the freeway, Joe offered to meet with me at a mutually beneficial location on his day off to help diagnose the issue. Within 5 minutes of driving and no prior visual inspection, Joe was able to diagnose exactly what the issue was and offered to take care of it as soon as possible. The ability to diagnose accurately on a whim showcases Joe's automotive genius and the time and care given to my vehicle exemplifies the incredible quality of work provided by this shop. Huge thanks to Joe, Albert and the rest of the Hayes team. Hands down best shop in SF. Highest quality work and service. 6/5 stars.

Incredible experience! Recently tried this auto body shop based on reviews and Joseph and his team exceeded all expectations. They were very punctual, friendly, thorough, communicative, and of course did an amazing job on my Golf GTI. I unfortunately was hit a second time a day after I got my car back and went immediately back to Hayes. Thank you!

Great auto repair shop, found a go-to mechanic that I can now trust for anything auto related. I've (rather unfortunately) needed Joe with Hayes Auto Repair's help now three times over the last couple of months. Each time, Joe was incredibly quick, affordable and knowledgeable on the process, even going far as to recommend other shop/store's services if he felt they could do a better job. That's how you know Joe and Hayes Auto are trusty! I will be recommending Hayes Auto to any all of my friends and anyone who lives in SF.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

I want to start by saying that I've never written a review for anything before. And I mean nothing- restaurants, amazon items, etc. But I was so blown away by the quality service that Joe and the other guys at Hayes Auto provided that I felt compelled to write this review. I originally came in for repairs after an accident in April. My cousin suggested this shop because of a good experience he previously had. I had pretty significant body damage to my car but Joe had everything fixed very quickly (even in the midst of this pandemic). He and the others at Hayes Auto were professional, kind and communicated well throughout the entire process. When I came in recently for some noises I was hearing, they really took care of me again. I can't thank you guys enough! You'll be my go-to mechanics for repairs and maintenance from now on

I wish I found that place earlier. It was great experience when dealing with those folks. Albert and Joseph are great and honest folks. They fixed my car promptly and addressed all my concerns with with attention to details and went above and beyond. I certainly recommend this shop to everyone. Keep on doing good job folks!

The team at Hayes Auto Repair is exceptional. Joseph is responsive, friendly, and professional. They handled repair work on the front suspension of my Subaru Outback and Joseph followed up with me afterwards to make sure that I was satisfied. After several weeks of driving it I noticed a small noise and brought it in for inspection. They were able to identify the issue and fixed it in no time. Thanks guys!

Albert is my hero. My car was broken into in golden gate park and the door wouldn't close (a big problem when parking on the street, plus it was flying open as I drove). Albert could have made a big deal out of it , but he fixed the issue immediately and was totally honest. This was the best experience I've ever had with a car repair place. I will definitely come back the next time I need anything fixed.

I've worked with these guys a handful of times for auto body work and each experience has been exceptional. They make life so much easier by working directly with the insurance company to handle payment and paperwork. Definitely recommend!

It's hard to believe that there is a honest inexpensive body shop still left in San Francisco but this is the one. I had to pay cash out of pocket because my insurance did not cover the bumper repair. Joseph was extremely helpful. In the end I misscounted $50 bills when paying Joseph, and he smiled and return to me the extra bill I gave him... The bumper looks like new. Reassuring honesty!
