Ed is great! I really appreciated how thorough and knowledgeable he is, and how he doesn t speak down to you, because you re female! We have two Volkswagen s, and he knows his stuff! Anyone who has a European car knows that you need a mechanic who knows what they re doing! Ed knows what he s doing!

You can expect excellent work, a fair price, and decades of experience with Ed s.I have an aging XJ8 Jag, deal with shops daily, and still couldn t find a shop with the balls to help (the average mechanic seems intimidated by a it seems) - the exception being authorized jag shop, or the dealership (which IS NOT happenin. ) I finally found/met Ed. He took care of my car quickly, professionally, and my v8 is floating down the highway:). Suspension and transmission service were my first order of business.I ll be back!And highly recommend this team.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I have been going to Ed's Autohaus for a little over 2 years. I have had an array of services from simple break job to replacement of engine mounts. I have a luxury German SVU that I love and wanted a garage that I trusted. I have only had great service in each of the times I have gone there. Ed himself has also been great to work with. I feel lucky to have them here in SF.

My daughter is doing a college internship here in the summer from out of state. She brought the family 2001 Mercedes SLK to move and have a way to get around on the weekends, etc. However, on the trip out here the check engine light came on at some point but the car seemed to be running just fine. I finally made a trip out to visit, and I took the car to Ed s because of the good Google reviews. Ed ran a diagnostic test and found that there was a pressure loss error related to the gasoline tank. I remembered a time seven years ago when we first bought the car, and I had a similar issue where we didn t tightly close the gas cap. This caused the check engine light to come on at that time. Remembering that episode, I asked Ed to reset the error to see if that would solve the problem. He reset the error message and refused any payment. I am pretty confident the car will no longer have any problems through this summer, but I very much appreciate his helpfulness and honesty, and I would not hesitate to take my car there for needed repairs.

Brought in my Range Rover for a coolant leak. Ed diagnosed the leak and fixed it by the end of the day. Pretty quick and at a good price.

Ed and Emerson are not family, but it feels like it. They are honest (with the good and the bad), dependable (never said no even when they are super busy) and reasonable (even when it is a major repair, they regularly beat the internet estimate). One time I could not get my car to start and Ed stopped by where I was parked and was able to help. I am just very grateful to know that they have my back. Just like a good and honest doctor, everyone needs an honest and good mechanic.

Ed and Emerson are honest and old school. They keep my 2004 Saab 9-3 running like a champ. They know their stuff and always deliver.Best small repair-shop in town for me.

Ed's folk is blasting moss from the louvres of a 450SLC ('79). This staid autobahn buster wasn't driven in eighteen months and literally gathered moss from inactivity. Under the "Astral Silver" original paint, Ed et al. gave 'Mr Wu's' silver bullet a full inspection, flushed all that was stagnant, and injected its arteries with the blue-chip fluids Mr Musk could never respect or understand. Excellent service, every time I have a problem with my sprinter van they always take care of it no matter what. I highly recommend this place especially if you have an European car because those guys are great and they re always available for all your mechanical needs

Jay is incredibly knowledgeable and hires only well-trained employees. I took my cars to Jay for more than 10 years and took everything to him. I was sad to move away and no longer bring my car to Planet Saaab/Autowerks. But, Jay still picks up the phone and answers my questions when I think something is wrong with my car. He was able to diagnose an issue with my brakes from San Francisco to Colorado which made me feel much better when I brought my car to a new shop knowing what was most likely wrong with my car!

The fellas that work here are very kind and honest. Go above and beyond. There work is fast, the communicate well and let you know everything that needs to be fixed and future fixes. I continue to go back to them again and again - cannot recommend them enough!

Unbelievable experience, we were stuck in San Francisco with a window that was broken in the down position. They were just wonderful to us, very kind, got us fixed up and back down the highway to our home.
