Cliff and his team are thorough and do a great job, my older 3-series had major problems and now drives safely again. Cliff has great communication, is honest about the problems and cost, and prioritizes works that would help your car the most. This place was recommended to me by a BMW specialist nonetheless, and I'm so glad I started bringing my car here. Now I only trust Cliff and his team to work on it.

Highly recommend this shop for work on older BMWs. Decided to try here since my sister recommended it and it s close to home. I had a battery drain issue which can be tough to diagnose and was so excited they were able to fix it. Car is running great and they charged a reasonable price. I don t feel like they overcharged me at all which I m thankful for. Cliff and his team were really friendly too and explained the issues and work done. Very honest and great service. Thank you!

Cliff is the man! Has everything one can look for when finding the right mechanic. Extremely knowledgeable, top quality service, nice and friendly, and on top of that, good prices added with cost saving advices! Highly recommended BMW specialist in SF. Transparent, trustworthy, and very experienced shop. With an out of warranty bimmer, my go to is Bay Motor Works. Convenient to schedule a detail with SF Auto Detail at the same location.

Cliff s an honest person. I actually didn t get any repairs from here with my Mini. I came in with an electrical issue, thinking it was minor. Cliff looked at it and immediately knew repairs would cost $1k+. He was upfront about it and pointed out other issues. I was already thinking about selling, but this confirmed it. I wanted to pay him for his time and expertise, but he said it was fine. Nice guy! I ll definitely come back when I get a new Mini or BMW!

Amazing service. Cliff is extraordinary and knowledgeable at what he does, very attentive when it comes to service, and a great person. Will always come back to his shop (I have a Mini Cooper Countryman) and recommend his shop to as many people as I can.

Cliff is great to work with and he is very knowledgeable about BMWs. He shows a great deal of care and treats the car as if it were his own. His garage is very clean. Pricing is fair and a lot better than most. If you own a BMW and have had horrible experiences with other Indy shops in the city and just wish you could find someone honest, fair priced, and knowledgeable on BMW, Bay Motor Works is what you've been missing. Cliff, the owner, is a true gem of a human. I had my car diagnosed at another shop and they told me my whole turbocharger needed to be replaced for over 6k. I ended up taking it to BMW for a diagnostic and it was my wastegate actuator and engine mounts, but the quote was STILL over 6k which sounded absurd. Cliff was able to get it done for a fraction, and when I turned my car on I hadn't heard it sound that good in months. Truly shocked. They even washed my car for me upon pickup! Turnaround time was super fast, he was very communicative about how long they would need, pricing and an additional hose they would need to replace. I've already got some additional services booked for this month with him. Can't say enough good things and I am so glad I've finally found someone I trust!

Cliff and Bay Motor Works are a true godsend! Luckily, I found Cliff right when I first moved to SF in late 2016, and he has been my go-to guy ever since. Excellent service, reasonable prices, and most importantly, trustworthy and honest. This is especially important for me as a woman, having had multiple bad experiences with mechanics over the years where I have been taken advantage of. I feel fortunate to have found Cliff and his team at Bay Motor Works. I really disliked the service I got at the MINI dealership, where I felt totally anonymous (let's not even talk about their inflated costs!). Cliff and Bay Motor Works know me and my car, and I find them super responsive and patient in explaining mechanical issues. Their service has been consistently spot-on, extremely friendly, and fairly priced. Absolutely the BEST in California! I have been going to Cliff for years for my Mini Cooper and he's amazing. I first had taken my car to the Mini Dealership and I was absolutely shocked by the price and my friend recommended Cliff instead. Since then, I only go to him. Super trustworthy, responsive, and knowledgeable. Can't recommend him enough! I've been coming to Cliff for many years, and he as always done excellent work on my BMW E90 LCI. He's very courteous and knowledgeable. Cliff is a staple in BMW repairs in San Francisco. He has taken care of the family BMW car for over 10 years. He is a master at BMW repair and with short supply of good BMW techs in SF, he is the guy to go to. Cliff is also very friendly and does a fantastic job at breaking down the repair in layman's terms. I have been taking my 2005 mini to Cliff for a few years now and he has been consistently great. I ve certainly had plenty of things to repair on this little old beast. His small shop means less chaos and communication problems and newbies working on cars. He has experienced techs hworking on the cars and Cliff worked at a BMW dealership garage for years so he knows the mini/bmw stuff backwards and forwards. I switched from the BMW Service to Bay Motor Works a few years ago and haven't been happier. The service is great, the Cliff is knowledgeable and very honest. Unlike many other shops, I feel that Cliff recommends what he feels is necessary but doesn't push extra services that aren't. I would highly recommend Bay Motor Works to anyone.

Cliff knows his business. He is considerate and polite, always willing to help and charges very reasonable prices.My BMW 528i was having a continued problem of the battery getting discharged continually. I had 2 other mechanics look at it. They replaced several parts, charged over $3000 and could not fix the problem. I was almost ready to sell the car for junk and I decided to take it to Cliff. Cliff assured me he could find the problem and he did exactly that. He took the time needed (more than 2-3 days) to nail down the problem to a faulty part and replaced the part. All for less than $600 with parts!I now take my car to Cliff and no other place. I strongly recommend him. THIS is what good business is all about!

Short on time for what I figured would be a nightmare repair, Cliff as busy as he is, not only repair major CV axle issue, but did it within 4 hours and did all the talking with Ext Warranty company!! Amazing service and don't know why I didn't just go there first. When trust is short in todays world, a trustworthy mechanic is key to piece of mind. I've been taking my 2000 BMW M5 to Bay Motor Works. Clifford is very communicative and does a great job explaining exactly what needs to be done. His work is great, and he always goes the extra mile to make sure things are done right. His prices are very reasonable, always a fraction of what the dealer would charge. I wouldn't take my BMW anywhere else.

My experience with Bay Motor Works was the best I ve ever had with a car repair service. The dealership had the car for 72 hours and couldn t diagnose the problem. Clifford, the shop owner at Bay Motor Works, started testing the car on a Monday morning, called me right away with the diagnosis & cost and had my Mini fixed and ready to go by 2pm the same day. He explained that Mini drivers should check the oil every month and he taught me how to do it. He also advised me to keep an eye on the coolant. Clifford is knowledgeable, skilled, professional and personable. I will be taking my car to Bay Motor Works as long as I own it.PS Now the car is driving better than ever!
