I really like the up-front inspection list that West sends me prior to performing their services. Joseph (front desk) is very professional and respects my decisions regarding any additional services that I approve (or not) for my cars.One thing continues to bring your marks down in my eyes: On a past visit, the air filter wasn't secured to its housing and screws were missing. This was resolved by West, but at an inconvenience to me as I had to bring my car back, costing me a couple hours from work. I regret not inspecting my car after my most recent visit almost three weeks ago. Yesterday, I discovered that the brake fluid cap was not placed onto the brake fluid reservoir - it was sitting just underneath the windshield wiper. I had spent well over $1100 on services only to discover that the simple task of replacing a cap was not performed. What does this say about the major service done on my car?I have recommended West to family and friends for the reasons stated above. I like and agree with your values. However, I cannot ignore these lapses.Services: Brakes, Oil change

I can t sing enough praises about our hybrid van service!! The customer service is top notch!! From the front guys Joseph and Brandon to our driver Nick, everyone made us feel like VIPs and our car service was fantastic!! If I could give 10 stars I would. Previously we had been going to our dealership for hybrid repairs and have dealt with quite rude and abrupt customer service. Our van would be stuck at the dealership leaving us without our family car at times, and we would have to rent another van on our dime. At West Kearny Mesa Auto they ensured we would get our van at the end of the day which we did and they even installed my 5 year old daughter s car seat in their shuttle and brought us back and forth to the Auto center!! We have become customers for life!!

Visited this location a couple days ago and this is my review:**This was my second visit to this location and both times my vehicle was kept all day for basic services (8am-445pm).**Service - Very poor! Made an appointment for a basic oil change and the service tech told me to drop my vehicle off at 830am. When I arrived they were not busy and had maybe 2 vehicles in the garage and barely any in the parking lot.Didn t pickup my vehicle until 445pm (8+hrs) and I had to call myself. Normal service time for an oil change is approximately 2.5hrs, and the service manager even confirmed this. When I arrived, again same situation . Only 2 vehicles in the garage and almost an empty parking lot. There was traffic on the freeway so I drive slower than usual home.The next morning, I drove into work on the freeway at regular speed 65-70mph and my vehicle was shaking. I drove it a second time later that day and the shaking was constant in the front and rear of the vehicle. I called a Joseph (Service Manager) and he said if I bring it back for an inspection I d have to leave my vehicle all day again. I told him I m not doing that 2 days in a row that I have work to do and my vehicle was not driving like this before their service.I told him that I wanted to speak to the supervisor and he denied my request saying he was the manager. I told him I d like to speak to the supervisor above him and he evaded my request trying to bargain with me. I took my vehicle back for an inspection that day and it took them surprisingly 3hrs to assess my vehicle. Joseph, called who he thought was my supervisor but was actually the coordinator for automotive accounts and explained to him the situation before calling me back.Joseph then called me to let me know there status of my vehicle and he told me the tires were to blame and they don t do tires at their shop. I asked why did you rotate them? And I got no response and he continued to blame the tires for the issue saying they were out of balance or old. I explained to him I recently replaced all 4 tires a few months ago.The next day I returned to my tire shop to find out that Joseph didn t know how to read the tires and in fact they were brand new tires. And his technicians knocked my vehicle out of balance with the rotation of the tires.In conclusion, I will not be returning here for any services and I hope you won t either. They are telling customers they need to leave their vehicles all day so it gives them the convenience to pick and complete the higher ticket services leaving the lower budget services towards the end of the day.I checked the better business website and this location has been in business for 9yrs and the company is under a sole proprietorship which means they are pocketing all the profits.

Great people and a very nice facility. The free ride there and back was unexpected, extremely convenient and very pleasant. I, reluctantly, knocked one star off the rating because Joseph agreed to check and repair a problem with the wind deflection panel under the front, right fender but it was not repaired and it was not mentioned when I picked up my car. I should have checked it before I left but it was late and I wanted to beat the traffic so it is partly my fault. Next time I'll be sure that everything is written down before I leave. Bottom line; I have two hybrids and I will be using this organization to take care of both of them. I will be back.

For years I have seen the commercials and listened to the radio show on Saturday mornings. When my regular shop(s) let me down I felt like I could trust these guys so I gave them a shot. I was so pleased with their service and the price I wanted to do jump in the air happy dance! This is my new shop.

Well, my car is fixed and the two guys I spoke to were nice, so there's that! My car needed $3500 worth of work and before choosing this shop I got 3 quotes and timeframes from different places. These guys were a few hundred dollars more expensive than the other places I got quotes from, but this shop promised my car would be done by the end of the following day. With a busy few days ahead, I decided that was probably worth it. While it was at the shop, they weren't great with communicating about progress. I did get a call in the afternoon of the day it was supposed to be done letting me know it wouldn't be done that day and that it would be the next day instead. I was without a car and had to pay for Lyft rides for an extra evening of work. Additionally, I chose this shop because they had said my car could be done on a certain day and that didn't happen. I said I was frustrated about that when my car was finally done (mid-day the next day) and the guy helping me put a $50 discount on my $3500 bill. That's a 1.5% discount. But hey, my car runs.

I saved $6200 by not using West Kearney Mesa automotive. My 2005 Ford ranger was having trouble engaging first gear while in drive. I paid $150 for a diagnostic here. They confirmed the problem, checked for computer codes and solenoids but found no obvious causes. Their recommendation: replace the transmission and said I had a rear differential leak. $6500. I asked if it should just be serviced. They said that could make it worse. I said no, had it serviced for $300 somewhere else, the problem is gone, and it's shifting smoothly. I've had cardboard under the differential to confirm the leak. Nothing.

West Kearney Mesa Automotive & Transmission works on both my older vehicles now: two extremes, a sports car and a SUV. They've done a great job with both - one was regular R&M and the other was MAJOR R&M. I wish I was referred to this shop way sooner, I would have saved some money and lots of stress from working with other shops that shouldn't be in business. Well done, West Kearny Mesa team!

i got a next day appointment. I also got my oil changed, tires rotated, brakes inspected, and a general car inspection . My car was the second car they took into the work area! I bought a wonderful used car from them. Rich was the salesperson, and he was attentive, patient and helpful. I came in at the 11th hour and he stayed until the end so I could take the time and buy my car and feel comfortable about it. No pressure (the type of salesperson I like). The finance guy was also very nice and friendly.

Brought my vehicle in to get the brake pads and rotors replaced which I specifically stated. They quoted me one price then came bake with double the amount after I brought my vehicle in and still charged me for an inspection I did not need. NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL! I will not be back.

This place is amazing. Customer service like no other. I was recommended by a friend and these guys are amazing. So quick, so honest, they even will drive you to and from home if you live in the area and the driver is super nice. Everyone is crazy nice and my final bill ended up being $350 less than My initial quote. I had some work done by them a year or two ago and had a related car problem about a month later. The shop took ownership of the issue and made it right with me, which impressed me because they didn't have to. Aside from that, the shop is clean, they provide shuttle transportation, and help me prioritize any maintenance and repair issues on my vehicles. The guys there are professional and courteous every time.

I found this business based off of a Google search looking for brake repair in Kearny Mesa, and they came up as highly recommended, based off of consumer experience, guest service and price. I booked an appointment online, and they called me back the same morning, very nice asked me specifically what the issues were and I brought my car in,. They did a check on it, called me to let me know what the issues were and I have my car back the same day. I had done some research online to determine how much it was probably going to cost, so they were not out of the ballpark in the range of what the issues cost to repair.Really nice customer service, these guys were honest and friendly and my car runs great.Service: Brakes

My car broke down completely on the highway because the alternator gave out. They were able to get a new alternator and replace it same day. They had a shuttle that brought me to and from work. Front desk person Joseph was super personable, calm, and professional. Great place! Thanks!

Joseph was the person who answered the phone. My issue was a bit urgent and I was waiting for a tow. He explained their process and my car was ready the next day. He handled every part of my experience through returning my key to me. It was very reassuring having the same person from start to finish.
