I have been there for a recall they did the recall I really appreciate their service but the service advisor advise me. There is a pending code on the truck and he told me what s the code for the funny thing is I ask him how much it cost to fix the code and he goes oh we have to do diagnostic again will be two hours, I don t know why and we know what s the code is and they want to charge me over $400 diagnostic and he told me what s the code is to me. It s a stupid move. unless the service advisor think we are stupid.

One of the worst Frieghtliners to go to. Called them up they said they are one to 2 days out. Told them we could park outside the gate. Showed up and they said we needed to get a hotel and leave it. It s already been in the shop 6 times and Freightliner and Detroit couldn t what was wrong and replaced the sensors again and the filter.

Their parts department do not care to answer their phones. I m a mechanic and I tell my Freightliner customer s to source their parts anyway they can because this dealer does not answer their phones. Just a waste of time for people to try to get a hold of them.

Took my diesel pusher RV in to have it diagnosed with 2 issues. Service guy told me he would call me back around 3:30. He didn't so I just figured they didn't get to it during the day. This is no problem as I wasn't in a rush. I called them before 4pm just to let them know that I had left it unlocked for them and would they move it behind the gate and lock it up. Person I spoked to assured me they would do that, and that there is security and cameras. I didn't have confidence this would happen, so around 7pm I drove over to check. RV was right where I left it and door still unlocked, window open. Someone from service had already been in it since plastic was on the seats and paper lined the floor, but they still left it unlocked. I locked it and left. Returned today and had words with the service guy about how unacceptable it is to leave a $250k RV unlocked after hours, out where I was able to walk in off the street, go into the RV and leave without anyone noticing. They obviously don't value my property so they will not get my business. Glad I have trust issues and decided to check.

The experience was great, I took my freightliner in because it broke down. Had a coolant leak that no one could find even when I took it into another shop, had an oil leak and a when I got it towed the fuel started leaking out. I was working with Chris, very nice and courteous and they got my truck fixed in a week. It's still running smoothly after a couple days of driving. Thank y'all very much for taking care of my truck!

My boss had this recall letter on his Cascadias requiring to go to the dealer for some sort of computer programming. He called this place ahead and was advised to bring the trucks in as early as 7am. We both bobtailed in from Miramar Rd at around 640AM. The ladies who serve the Service department were very friendly and efficient. Since it was a 2 hour job or so the technicians were at it right away. There is a small lobby in the service department and also very gracefully another service agent offered assistance when I was looking for an outlet to charge our cellphones. The Men's restroom kept spotless clean. This dealer has found Great people with above and beyond customer service skills. On top of it all the technician working on my assigned truck also took care of a pending recall regarding some brake assembly switch. It was unbeknownst to my boss and taken care of fast by the technician. Truly a great Team here. The main entrance is 6006 Miramar Road (sharp right turn), there also appears to be an Alley way entrance off Miramar Mall on the West side. The Small street next to Stars and Stripes fuel stop has a dirt shoulder where you can wait out opening times.

Took my buddy here to drop off his RV and give him a ride back home. He was skeptical at first if they were going to get to his rig in a timely manner and thought that it would be expensive to repair. To his surprise it was quite the opposite! A couple of hours later he received a phone call from Veloctiy. Not only were the repairs half the price of what he had in mind but they would have his RV ready in just two days! My friend is very pleased with the professionalism of their team because they went above and beyond his expectations. I highly recommend their service(s) to anybody who needs their Freightliner equipment repaired or inspected...

Very professional organization it seems. Colleen and the techs in service were superb in getting my RV analyzed serviced while keeping me informed of the progress on the coach. Dave Rannells

worst experience ever, first of all they charge 194 or 196$/ hour. They changed the thermostats and fan clutch, whoever after 40 miles we the truck got overheated. upon check guess what? we have got leakage.( we went in dry as bone). For a 3-4 hours of labor I was charged 12 hours of labor, Even though they kept my truck for double checking their job and still after driving 40 miles I have significant leakage.so literally I paid 3700$ to get leakage.I am happy to share the video upon request and already emailed it to IVAN

Beware of Courney Weeks!! Service rep for velocity. Ms, Weeks gave me a estimate of $6,000.00 to service my truck. I took my truck to another repair shop and got an estimate for the exact same repairs and the estimate was $500.00. They repaired my truck while i waited it took every bit 25 Minutes. Ms.Weeks also stated that my DOT inspection will cost $100.00 But she charged me $300.00. I see why she is the Token Service rep. Beware of her she will put your business in the Red!!!!

Very happy. Nate took the time to explain what was going on with our rig. He made the scheduling work for us and helped us out big time by getting our older coach fixed. Excellent service and quality work! Ben was also very respectful with our coach and gave us excellent service. This place comes with our highest praise and recommendation!

Definitely the worst customer service ever. I ve gone here 3 times in the past year and every time I went, they were rude and impatient.I just called for a bumper they said was in otay location. drove 45 mins only to wait there for 1 hour with no one in line. Once I got there, the guy helping me John, just disappeared for 30 minutes, comes back and makes a couple phone calls, giggles here and there. After hanging up he says, ooh we don t have it. Shows we have 1 but I can t find it, sorry. This place sucks for business.

I like the professional work. However, there was a communication slip up which cost me dearly by approving work that I would have otherwise passed on.Update: Service manager called me to discuss this issue and was very understanding and professional. They are taking steps to avoid this going forward.I will definitely be using them for my next service needs.

No sale representative on site, not answering calls, voicemail is full. Please close your business, we may get someone else who makes this dealership better for San Diego.

Most dealerships are vey busy now and i can understand a longer wait time for phone calls, that being said i have always had a difficult time talking to somebody to order any parts. A minimum of 20 min hold before you talk to anybody! I had to call the service department to get ahold of the parts manager in SD to voice my concerns and ask if they were understaffed or overworked and why they were the only dealership to have this issue. All he gave me were excuses and told me that I was the only person to have this issue. Without exaggeration I have not had one person tell they didn't have this issue. I try to avoid buying any parts from them unless I have to. Now if you walk in, there is always one person available at the desk (why cant they answer a call?) and if they have the parts you need, you will be in and out quickly. VELOCITY IS BY FAR THE WORST DEALERSHIP FOR PARTS SERVICE! I hope they can fix this issue but for now avoid it. EDIT 7/22/21 I HAVE REACHED OUT TO THE EMAIL THEY GIVE TO HANDLE THIS AND HAVE NOT HEARD BACK! Edit #2 8/12/21 still have no response from the department they had me contact . All the replies to the reviews are just empty gestures and the really don't want to fix anything or admit it is a real issue

I have always had a great experience with San Diego Freightliner. They have always done their best to make sure that I was taken care. They've given me an estimate of time and cost where repairs are concerned and never do anything without consulting me first. Thank you Miriam, Gene, Joel, Jeanette and last but not least, Marky for your hard work, dedication, respect and above all else, your great customer service. Thank you again, it's appreciated more than you know

My experience with these people was very similar to others leaving reviews.I had done front end work and steer tires change by dealer in MA. After that my truck had severe vibration on the front. I have to deliver my load on time, so I drove 3 thousand miles, drop the load in San Diego and went to this dealer for help. After few hours I was told that my truck needs new slack adjusters and s-cams. I paid $300 for diagnostics and went to another place for second opinion. After describing my problem to a mechanic I also showed him a paper from the dealer. With out seeing the truck he said that this type of vibration does not come from brakes. He lifted my trucks front and we found out that my right(brand new) tire is oval shape. Half hour later I was on my way with no vibration. Cost me $350 dollars ... If anybody wants San Diego Freightliner to do experiments on your vehicle at your cost it will be the place to go. I think once someone is charging about $150 per hour it should be a professional help. At this price mechanic should be able to find the problem at the first time instead of changing whole bunch of unnecessary parts at the customer expense.I really don't know if their mechanics are learning at our expense or this is just the way they doing business to generate more profit.

since Ron Overholt has left, customer service has gone way down, no point in even trying to get parts, service has gone way down and unreliable since their best mechanics left. always arguing with the customer, customer is never right. the company cares more about the dollar and profits than to provide great customer service.

I have been a customer for parts and service for a while now. Ron Overhault was my sales rep, I never had a problem getting parts until I was told to go through the call center. I call and call and it just goes to the call center instead of the local area. the reason I don't like going to the call center is because I have to ask and check if the parts are in the San Diego location and it is just more time spent and wasted in locating the parts. I am put on hold when they do that and it just cuts in to my down time. also when I ask if it can leave on a certain route for deliver... guess what... that's right, I am put on hold so that they can find out if it can or cant go on a certain time. we are in the transportation business and it is vital to get this information immediately to make a call to pick up ourselves or have it delivered. I never had this problem before when contacting my sales rep directly, I know he is doing more than he needs to but it definitely gets done and all the information is given to me immediately. I don't have to wait to know, I get a call back immediately and I receive my parts when I am told they will be there.

I have done business with San Diego Freightliner for years. Parts is good, but i have reviewed them already. this review is for Service. You will not receive a return call, if you call the main line and reach the service department you will be waiting a long time. if and i mean IF someone answers it will be a long time before they answer the phone. when they do, it takes a long time to get an answer. The biggest problem is getting a return call after leaving a message especially when you contact Gene the service Manager!! OMG!! almost a month and no response. I had to go out of my way and go to the store to catch him and speak to him, only to be told, it is still not ready. I can accept, it's not ready or any excuse! but COMMUNICATE WITH ME! PLEASE!!!! I have a fleet to run and any information is good to know, weather it's good or bad news, i can deal with it!! but dang it!!! COMMUNICATION is key!! Hopefully Corporate visits or reads these reviews and fixes the issues. Gene, if you see this, I hope you learn to communicate, give your customers a call, even if it's bad news. I understand you are busy, but we are all busy! any information is good information.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP. Again stay away. This shop is a joke they keep your truck for a few days because they don t have parts but when they order they don t overnight ship parts even if you requested to rush shipment even though I am paying for the shipping fee. They don t return calls. You have to call to find out the problem. Really bad service. Prices are so high. Please take your business somewhere else.

We had our 39 ft diesel rv fixed here and were greatly pleased by the speed and quality of the repair. The problem was diagnosed very quickly, the necessary part was ordered, and the rv was fxed by noon the next day. Everyone, from receptionist to repairmen were courteous and professional. Great service!

Take too long for Mechanic to get to my truck, when they do they take too long for diagnostics, at the end it had been very expensive to repair our new trucks.Parts department is good, usualy they have what you need, if not they will get it. Be prepared to spend 15 minutes to 30 minutes waiting

The service department and the service advisers very professional. I wish the parts department can be more professional. They need to take a page out of the service book.

On Monday I took my truck to this dealer for a MIL light they told me it will be few hours till we get it in to see what's going on with it .. Typical thing at every dealer , waited until next day to hear from them and they found out that the problem was AMC harness.. I told them to go ahead and fix it .the job only needed 5 hours of labor work .. They didn't call me until Friday to tell me that truck was done !!!! Seriously ???I went to pick up the truck .. Drive it for few miles and MIL light came back on !!!! Took it backs and I was so mad because they just wasted my time for something easy to fixThey called me to tell me the sensor was bad .. And they knew it was bad but they didn't fix it for meDidn't fix it until SaturdayService people were so mean and they don't care about you at allAll they want is your money .. I had to take the truck there because I have no choice ...I was just mad because of the service .. Lies lies lies .. No honesty at allI will give this San Diego Freightliner -5 star
