We have been taking our vehicles to Tune Craft for years and he is literally the most honest mechanic I ve ever met. We recently took our car to another local shop for an oil change and it was a terrible experience. The get you to their facility only to bait and switch you and attempt to charge over $1500 to replace the transmission. We declined and took it to Shawn at TC and he replaced the clutch only for $675 and took care of the oil change. He will tell you frankly what needs to be done and not try to upsell you like other shops. We now have 3 cars we have them service and encourage all our friends to utilize him as well. If your vehicle needs maintenance don t delay and go see Shawn, you won t be disappointed.

I m in awe of the fantastic job that I received from Tune Craft. We drove our PT Cruiser from Michigan 11 yrs ago and it is still in excellent working condition thanks to the mechanics and staff. I highly recommend Tune Craft to everyone who needs TLC for there car

Was fortunate enough to have the check engine lights turn on with a concerning amount of white smoke coming from the hood direct across the street from this autoshop (it turned out to be the radiator, which had to be completely replaced, an issue that occurred in the past. A total loss of coolant as well). Very nice people, as an Autistic individual with problems talking to people, they were very respectful and informative without needing me to state otherwise, both through call and text, invoices were speedy and notified of change, i thoroughly enjoyed this experience as it was my first major car problem. Prices were rather respectable considering the severity, I would tip if i had the capacity to do so, i was surprised and glad that there was no fee for overnight parking, one reason why i would recommend this place, for any neurodivergent individuals these are the kind of people these people that are able to help, due to the good reviews (4.7 out of 5 as of this review) it is apparent that they are often busy, but they are still able to get the job done in a quick and orderly fashion. As a final course of action, they recommended what other steps to take to ensure the maintenance of my vehicle. Personally this was a very positive experience and i will return to them if possible.Thank you for your services Shawn, I wish you good fortuneKevin T

So happy we found Tune Craft! As many have said, Shawn and his crew are great! We've had a lot of bad luck with our cars lately and he's not only repaired them but fixed what other shops had not. Tune Craft fixed and cleaned what another shop in west El Cajon had done. Couldn't be happier!

I pretty much always deal with Shawn when I come in. We've had both my wife and my vehicles repaired within the last month. This is the place to go without a doubt. Honest, open and very clear on what repairs are needed. They don't squeeze you for a bunch of things that you don't need but they do let you know what should be looked at in the future. I truly appreciate the confidence I have in their work as we are frequently on the road and I don't have to worry if the repairs were done right. Thanks again guys we'll see you next time.

This is the best auto repair place ever!! We have had repairs done on on our 2 cars over many years and are never disappointed in any way. Shawn and his crew know autos and trucks. 100% Honest and Service Oriented since 1994 when I first took my vehicle to Shawn Meyers at Tunecraft at Clairemont Drive and Balboa Avenue. All those years and many vehicles later, Shawn and his team continue with excellent service, great expertise, honesty and fairness. Quite something in this day and age! This repair facility is truly wonderful. From the moment I dropped my vehicle off, Shawn kept me fully updated on the estimate and repair status. The BEST in San Diego. I have been going here for years to get my car tuned up. Today I popped a tire on those horrible potholes on Clairemont drive, and immediately pulled in. Once I have my spare, the very kindly fit me into their very busy day, replace the tire with the spare, all for free! They are incredibly kind, have candy for their customers, and a great attitude. Super friendly staff and fast service. Mechanic(s) is very honest and will tell you exactly what is up with your car, they won't try and sell you extra work or parts just to make money. Will be back again the next time my car needs a check up.

We've been taking our cars to Shawn at Tune Craft for at least fifteen years now. We have always been treated with the utmost respect and courtesy. They often identify major repairs ahead of time & provide a cost estimate (i.e. we will need to replace the timing belt for our Honda in six months, etc.), allowing us to budget for the expense.We've also had several of our cars towed in and we always get quick, top notch repairs. They are honest and reliable. Getting our regular oil changes here provides us with a regular safety check and saves us ever having to top off any fluids. You'll never be driving around with inoperable tail lights if your car is serviced here.We always buy used cars, and have found that having a AAA membership usually pays off every year, with the discounts provided by Tune Craft exceeding the annual membership cost. Been meaning to write a review for some time now. This company and its people have been fixing our (very old) cars for years now. It is so hard to find a car repair place you can trust, but again and again, Tune Craft has been just such a place. They have told us not to bother with certain repairs when not really needed, so that when they do say something is urgent, we really can trust them. Prices are good, and they don't up-sell. Also easy to deal with and punctual. Highly recommend.

Sean and his mechanics are awesome. I've been taking my cars in for over 12 yrs. I went in for or an oil change. They explained what I should think about getting done soon. They called me to let me know that an opening just became available. I came in had the work done, and they only were willing to charge me for the part. That's what loyalty gives you...honesty, kindness, and a friendship

Excellent service by Shawn and his team. I was in SD on business and my car died. Had it towed to Tune Craft after hours and dropped of my keys. They looked at it first thing in the morning, gave me an estimate, replaced the starter and I was back on the road later that afternoon. They also looked the car over fluids and such knowing I was traveling. Service was honest, professional and fast. I would definitely recommend. Thanks Tune Craft...

Cannot recommend this place enough! I had a very positive experience getting new spark plugs, and this is coming from someone who hates car maintenance. I called and scheduled an appointment with Shawn @ Tunecraft. They were flexible with time, but asked me to come in early, so I can get back early. So said, so done! They were honest, safe, convenient with paying options, I got an invoice/work slip that explained what they did and was able to pay online. (COVID Safe) Reliable- my car was finished earlier than expected. There was no exaggerated speech about how much I needed to get done, just a professional courtesy of things likely to come up, they gave me a price estimate and said, just work on the ones you can! Our experience at Tune craft wast great. Our 99 Escort was not running well. Sean at Tune Craft said that he could repair it, In lass than 4 hours we had our car back paying a reasonable amount. Kudos to these guys for providing repair for older vehicles. I recommend them especially for older cars.

I've been taking my car to Tune Craft for several years now, and I always have a good experience. They do very good work at reasonable rates. Most importantly I trust Sean and the crew and feel like they're always honest and forthright in their dealings with me. If you've had bad experiences or questionable work done elsewhere, try Tune Craft. I highly recommend them.

Honest, upfront. Moved from Carlsbad and needed new repair facility, read reviews for Tune craft and they were spot on, Shawn and his team are awesome. My car was running rough they diagnosed with machine and found no codes, made a suggestion to change plugs and car runs perfect, thank you, I will definitely be back. The online appointments and maintenance suggestions is a nice too
