Rip off. Arrogant quote at $80 to change 6 quarts of oil. $60 if I brought in my own oil/filter.At Autozone the 6qts/filter is only $50.Obviously just do it yourself.

I went this guys today 12 am I want do insulation trailer hitch told me $130 you re going to take it today I said OK and they call me 4.30 pm they said sorry price gonna be 450$ they waste my time all day and plus untrustworthy never gonna go back to this place and we are neighbor. I have Barber Shop around the corner.

Was just looking up the phone number for a friend who needs a good, honest mechanic. My best friend and I left the area almost two years ago or we'd still be taking our cars to Frank. He worked on our cars for years. I even drove my father's car to him from Hemet. Definitely not the cheapest, but if you want honesty and good work, this is the place.

This place has saved my truck a number of times! You'll know if it's a job they can't handle but you'll get an excellent recommendation for someone who can. Fair prices with quick service! It always sucks to have to get your car repaired, this place will make sure it's done right.

I REALLY wanted to like this place since it's local and I love supporting other small businesses. I just needed an oil change, so I stopped by today. The guy looked at my car, was really sweet, and said it would be $55. Wow, that's more than I usually spend on someone else doing the oil change so I asked about it and he said they do full diagnostic - check fluids, rotate and even out tires, check air filter, etc. I told him I just got new tires and so didn't need them to be checked, but he said $55 was still the price. I also let him know I'm on a tight budget, and so didn't want any extra work done and he said he'd call if there was anything else that would make the price higher. Even though this is already twice what I usually pay, I figured I'd support this local OB business and signed the paperwork (that'd it'd be $55) and handed over my keys. A few hours later I got a call and went to pick up the car and they charged me $74!! Donna explained that there was basically no way with the supplies and labor that it could be $55. I explained to her that the guy (I can't remember his name) said he would call if it would be more. She discounted down to $62, but STILL, that is waaaay more than I have ever paid and will ever pay for an oil change unless it's been explained to me that I need more work. I'm disappointed and will not be back and I do not recommend if you are just looking for an oil change.

I have had several instances with sunset cliffs auto. I try to support local business. However, I cannot keep my tongue about this. The first vehicle I brought them, a 1999 Honda accord, was left for a couple days to have a thermostat replaced. Upon picking up my vehicle, I noticed an odor and pulled over. There were dirty rags and ash'd cigarette butts in my cup holder. I returned to SCA and confronted Frank about the matter. I didn't cause a scene, I calmly asked why it was there. He blamed the homeless in the area for breaking in and using it to sleep. There were no signs of a forced entry, only reasoning that the vehicle was left open over night. My check engine light stayed on for three more days. I was told "drive it to reset everything and you will be good." After 200 miles or so, I brought the vehicle back as nothing had changed. Following on, it had turned out that they had had broken an internal sensor. They replaced it for free, so I kept the hard feelings at bay.Fast forward 3 months. I have a 2002 Silverado that I bring in for an axle repair. The vehicle had just hit over 100k. I asked for a full vehicle inspection and a few other repairs such as a misfire and a check engine light. After $1100 worth of maintenance, I was given my vehicle back. The next day, the check engine light turned back on. I bring the vehicle back. Another bad O2 sensor. They replaced it, but I decided this was the last time I would use this mechanic as I expect to have the job done right the first time. Yesterday, roughly three weeks after having the vehicle returned to me, I was driving onto the 163S when my truck died. High RPM's, little to no speed. Turns out, no transmission maintenance was done when I asked for the 100k inspect. I distinctly remember asking Frank, "so I can take these keys and drive across the country, correct?" and he responded with "yes." I am now out 3000 dollars worth of repairs and SCA denies any liability for the matter. They said they replaced the filter and everything was fine, so their hands are clean of the matter. The mechanic I am currently using said the fluid hadn't been touched and the transmission was neglected. It saddens me to write a bad review on a local business, but I hope that this saves another from the debt and hardship I have gone through.

Terrible place. He lies. He told me the prob of my car was on ur side and charge me 340. When I picked up the car it had the same problem. Then he said the prob was on the other side and try to charge me another 340. If u want a dishonest and a liar mechanic that is the place. He estimated the prob, charge me the money to fix it and it didn't happened, and didn't want to make a discount or fix my other side for a better price since he made a mistake. Hang up the phone on my face when I tried to solve the problem and start screaming when I went to his shop to have a face to face conversation.

I've been wintering in San Diego for the past several years and Frank has been very helpful, cooperative and has truly gone "the extra mile" for me and my car. It's been small town service in a big city!

This guy's work is as bipolar as his prices. Good luck catching him on a good day, but my best advice is go elsewhere unless you know vehicles.

Great honest Macanic I worked on my vehicle and could not finish the work took it to Frank with all the parts and he was very accommodating to take my mess and fix the problem the car ran great I would totally recommend him to friends and family !!!!

I honestly am really grateful I found this shop. Both Frank and Ocsar are honest machanics, which isnt easy to find. I found my machanic in them. And, if you ever need one, I would reccomend them.
