I drive a high-mileage vehicle (~280k miles) and am doing what I can to keep it on the road as long as possible. The front suspension was completely worn out as it was still original parts. Last week, I started to feel some play in the wheel and knew it was time to get it checked out. Sam and the team diagnosed the issue(s) and relayed them in a clear and honest way. He even asked if I was sure I wanted to repair the vehicle, knowing how little it was worth (which I greatly appreciated). After assuring him I wanted to proceed with the repair, he kept in constant contact as the job progressed and went above and beyond to save money on parts and labor. The Trailblazer is now back on the road, driving as well as the day I got it. I highly recommend this shop for your auto repair needs.

Fast and Pretty good service, my new tire was installed within 1 hour . Unfortunately the new tire was punctured on the road by a small metal pin then the owner still help me inspect and repair it for free when I drive back , I think this is the way he keep the promise for his warranty and excellent service

I needed my brake pads, rotors done. I went in and got my vehicle back same day. Took only a couple of hours. It was also VERY reasonable in pricing compared to a lot of place in San Diego. Jeff and his crew were great. I would absolutely go back for future and other services.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY TIRE REPAIRS! I called ahead to have 2 tires mounted and balanced that I purchased on marketplace, they said no problem. After tires were installed on vehicle, I could blatantly hear that both tires not only had an air leak but also had bubbles. Only upon pointing out the obvious defects in the tires did they reinstall my previous tires along with charging me for 4 mount and balances. Avoid this shop like a plague. They were not apologetic whatsoever for not seeing the defects and also was going to allow me to drive away with obvious holes in my tires that you can hear air escaping. Good luck!

great service i called over the phone to make an appointment and they had told me they were able to do my oil change and change all 4 of my tiers with in 1 hour and they did just that. thank you guys for the help

Do not come here. They tried to charge me $600 for a suspension repair. I fixed it for $100 at another place. Only needed to replace some screws.

It s is very rare to find integrity and compassion at a mechanic shop and I wish to commend the staff at shift auto-repair.Recently I ran into some car trouble and having been In the automotive industry for 10 years, I diagnosed the issue as a bad sensor and brought in my own part to shift auto. They completed the repairs and I picked up car.That night I noticed there were some issues and decided to bring the car back the next day. As it turned out there was trouble with part I supplied and some other minor issues. When I came back I was expecting to be turned away and told it was none of their concern.To My surprise (and with a little convincing) the manager Tyler agreed to recheck the work and to fix the other issues (parts and labor in all).The part I brought in was defective and I wound up exchanging it but it was still not working and the car was stalling out. I began to stress out, but they said don t worry we will help you out the best we can .They wound up replacing the part three times until the issue was fixed, with a dealer sensor, with no additional labor cost to me!Mistakes happen, but how you move forward is what really matters. If you are looking for a shop that is willing to stand behind their work, has the courage to take responsibility, Shift Tire and Auto Repair has these qualities. This shop has gained my trust and my business. I will be returning to them in future for additional services,thanks guys for your help.

I spoke to a very nice gentleman. I have a flat tire. One of the bolts happens to be stripped. I didn't know that until AAA came out. I have been calling several shops trying to find out if they'll take a strip bolt out. Most said no. The man on the phone said he doesn't know if if they can or not I would have to take the car in. Im already in need and I can't just simply take my car in or towed around from tire shop to tire shop just for a maybe. Tows cost money. I know that's not his problem. But it is mine. I asked if he had my tire size. He did not check his system he said "if it's not in the shop I have it in the warehouse". I asked then for the price of the tire. At This point you could already tell hes getting annoyed Or behaving as if he is just too busy to be asked all these questions. That he has "other customers". (Am I not a potential customer?) He REALLY DOES want me to tow my car with no guarantee of them being able to strip the bolt off and no tire price. While he had me on the phone he failed to realize that I WAS his customer. I know this must be the million time he answers questions. But what all representatives must realize that anyone calling to your shop. It's their 1st time asking you that question.

Amazing customer service with a fantastic attitude. Pat genuinely cares about his customers. A very rare quality in auto repair these days. Brought my car in to patch a flat tire. They had the tire patched in 10 minutes and I was out the door. Highly recommended you check them out for your next repair. Just know you get what you give so try saying hi and talking to them. A little kindness goes a long way.

It is walking distance from my office, so that's convenient. Synthetic oil change + tire rotation was little over $100, which is cheaper than the dealership. Courteous rep. They can use an office, however. Front desk is in the shop, next to noisy tools.

By far the best auto repair experience I've had! Don't be fooled by the size of the place (it's relatively small), but the work is done right and at a fair price. Patricio is honest, friendly and forthright about the work to be done with your vehicle, with no pushy up-selling. He even waited after closing hours for me to pick up my vehicle after work. Bottom line: if you've been to other shops and felt like you might be getting scammed, this is the opposite. Go talk to Pat at Shift-

Great service with a warm, down-to-Earth smile. Pat is awesome and so friendly. Easy up-front pricing and great communication. Sure, you can get your tires changed elsewhere, but the thing that really set this place above the rest was when I picked up my car; Pat remembered my wife's name, and my kids' names... He's a genuinely nice guy doing a job he's really good at to make an honest loving. I respect that. Thanks!

Shift Auto is an ABSOLUTE GO TO place for most all of your vehicle needs. Javier runs a top notch establishment that treats its clientele with supreme honesty and ethics. Full service from fluids and wipers, to shocks, tires, and many types of engine repairs. They have serviced my Volvo, Mazda and Hyundai for years without issue. They handle a myriad of issues with uncanny efficiency.Javier is a wise man and hired the BEST Service Captain ever in Pat. He has a wealth of experience, super guy and great car service demeanor... coupled with his crack team of mechanics to mow down your car woes in a timely fashion. This team makes you feel like you are like family to them they treat you so well! They can also do an oil change and car wash for a very reasonable price. Use them or try fishing for a good mechanic in the pond of vehicle repair piranha.

Had a great experience here. Pat is awesome. They price matched a mass airflow sensor for me including labor. It turned out the part they ordered was faulty but were very quick to fix the problem with no additional charges. They even send your car through the carwash that is next door when you get any service. Very nice staff for very honest prices! I now come here whenever I need any kind of service on my car instead of Firestone.

What an amazing little repair shop! I had to get my smog check done today, and my guy Kevin recommended I go see Pat at Shift Auto Repair to look at my brakes, since I was told I needed them replaced. Not only did he completely explain the process to me (something no other mechanic has ever taken the time to do), but he actually let me sit and watch them inspect my brakes, showing me the physical pieces of my car. Then, because it was raining, one of the staff drove me across the street to Starbucks to wait while they work on my car. This place really understands the power of customer service, and they will be my go-to mechanic moving forward.

Called and spoke with Pat the evening one of my tires went flat. I wasn't able to bring it in that day, so he assured me that I would be taken care of first thing the next morning. (BTW, he made a great first impression, even over the phone!) I had one tire that needed to be patched and put back on my vehicle, as well as, a spare that needed to come off and be put away securely. There was never a moment that I felt belittled, or that I would be swindled out of needing something else for my car. I was completely overwhelmed with Pat's humble, kind, and considerate, customer service. His team went above and beyond what was necessary and I would highly recommend this business to others. Not only did the quality of vehicle service meet my expectations , but the customer care service exceeded them! In fact, this city could really use more small business shops like this one. Thanks Pat and team!

My alternator started giving me issues on Saturday night and I was worried I wasn't going to be able to find a mechanic to fix it. I found Shift Auto and they were fantastic. Less than 3 hours to test my alternator and battery, give an estimate and finish the work on my car, all on a late Sunday morning! Javier provided excellent customer service, was polite and professional and was accurate on both price and time estimates. Highly recommended!

Fast and honest! I went here for a routine oil change and was told that both of my front cv axles were broken, and was quoted $560 plus taxes. Other places i had gone had quoted me anywhere from $1000 to $3000 to have the same issue repaired! I realize that most of the cost was labor, but there is no way I would have been able to do it on my own, so paying for the labor charges was something I was prepared to do.The other places obviously WAY over charged on the quotes!I took my car in to Shift at 9am for the repairs and they were finished before noon. I never got a call about upcharges or additional "issues" ... which is rare in my experience being a single woman. I will always go back here for any car issues I might have because I trust them to tell me the truth!

I have been coming to this place for years! They're always quick, friendly, and they make you feel valued. I don't know what other words to use that doesn't sound fake or cheesy. When I first started coming, they could remember me every time, even if it had been a while between oil changes. I've gone back for other things too, like changing out bulbs, battery changes, doing 45k/90k maintenance/check-up, etc. I trust them completely. Highly recommended! Just don't go when I need to get something done first lol

At a time when finances are difficult I needed an oil change very badly. Other mechanics were quoting $80 to $90, but Patricio did the job excellently for just $30. And without charging me a thing he removed two screws from a rear tire and patched the holes. Pat is honest and kind, as are his techs. I definitely have a new mechanic!

Outstanding... I had the pleasure of meeting the most kindest and honest people. Truly a rare find when you go to have repairs done on your car. I needed major work done on my car the mechanics and Patricio went above and beyond the call of duty to be sure I was safe driving away with my kiddos! If I could give this place a zero I would. The most amazing guy, Pat, left and now there is a young arrogant kid who charges an arm and a leg and doesn't even fix the issue you want fixed. Brought my car in for an error code. They said I needed a new battery. They charged $360 to replace the battery (something I can do myself) a week later the same error came up. I took it back, He said I don't know, take it to the dealership. Took it in and it was a look connection, super simple fix and it didn't even need a new battery. Lame. Go somewhere else where they value their customers.

Most trust worthy shop I know!! Excellent attention to customer needs. Very knowledgeable and thorough with their cars. I ve brought four cars in over the years and have never been disappointed. Great communication with my warranty company as well. I d recommend them to anyone!

As a young female who has had bad experiences at auto shops in the past, I was so thankful to have stumbled across Shift Auto. I immediately felt comfortable because the guys that work there are so helpful and down to earth. It shows that they truly care about their customers. Shift Auto has restored my faith in honest mechanics and is the only place I trust with my car in San Diego.

I don't know what reasonable prices are you talking about, the manager tried to charge me $65 dollars just to change the hitch ball, that's too much,we get to an agreement to $20 dollars, still too muchI have gone to other tire shops and normally charges $10 dollars$65 dlls. TOO MUCH!

I went in because my car was making some weird noises. I assumed, based on what I read online, that it would be a relatively simple fix. Almost immediately they diagnosed that it was something more severe, and that I needed to figure out if this was covered, and by who. This is where they really went above and beyond.They helped me make the calls to the dealership, and made sure I asked all the necessary questions. They helped me arrange the tow truck and arranged for someone to pick me up from the rental car place. They also even told me to call my credit card company to see if I had additional rental car protection. While I was waiting there, a ton of people came up to say, "hi" to them, and I realized they must go above and beyond for everyone. It's never fun to have to take your car into a shop, but the employees here really made it as enjoyable as possible. Highly recommended.

By far the most honest and fairest mechanics i have ever met. Not only do they bend over backwards for their customers, but they are more concerned about your true needs than making an extra buck. Pat and his team truly provide the best experience all around!!! They are my family's mechanics....

Went to Shift to get my tires rotated on my '13 maxima, they got me right in. I wasn't sure if they needed to be balanced, but the mechanic threw them on the machine anyway to test them which was really nice.It only took about 20 minutes for them to finish my car and I was on my way. I recommend this place for anyone who needs to get in and out but wants someone who knows what they are doing!
