THIS IS THE VERY BEST repair shop of its kind in all of Southern California. Seriously. So rare it is to find that special blend of professionalism, and integrity. The men here are very, very good at what they do, and they are also honest in all of their tasks. They work that they do is of the highest quality, and they are most fair in their pricing too. So easy to want to support those kinds of individuals who run an honest and wise mechanic s auto repair shop the way that these men do it right here at SD Hybrids! I was so pleasantly surprised to find something like this right here in San Diego!

Mike and William are amazing and honest guys. They helped me out with my 2011 Toyota Prius and were straight forward with the process. Would recommend them over the dealers and other mechanic shops that overcharge.Grateful for these guys!!

Only interested in taking money from those who are clueless about cars. I come from a family of mechanics. Go here if you want to, but beware, you might be paying money for what you don't need to.Edit: Why didn't I bring my car in??? Oh... that's right, because you said you wouldn't work on it it. You wanted an open-ended fee of $180 an hour while you tinkered around and guessed at the problem. Couldn't even give a set diagnostic fee. So-called Prius expert. More like scam.

Will was a blessing to me. This company goes up and beyond what is expected in life right now. They are knowledgeable, fair, and amazing. I had an issue with my car in San Diego. I m not in San Diego. I called and asked if they could assist me. They went up and beyond expected. If anyone is looking for Hybrid assistance. Let this great company be the first and last stop! I have had the engine replaced and the catalytic converter replaced here (car was burning oil for at least 6 years). Always a quick turnaround and I can vouch that these guys are honest. The other day I lent my Prius to a friend who drove it to empty. After parking the car, the vehicle flashed a hybrid system error and would not restart. Since the engine and catalytic converter had already failed, I figured the hybrid battery system went caput. So I called SD Hybrids with the intention of having it towed to their shop for a replacement. When I told them the backstory, they mentioned the vehicle's hybrid system may have been drained as the car was driven on empty, therefore running on 100% electric. They told me to add 5 gallons of gas and reset the battery by removing a connection on the car 12v battery. Viola! It was fixed. They saved me several thousands of dollars. I cannot be more grateful for their honest assessment of the problem.Service: Engine repair

Did a great job on my 2018 Prius, swapped out the motor, cat converter. Dealer wanted something ridiculous, they did it for half the price. Highly recommend, they'll be my go-to mechanic as long as I have this car.Service: Engine repairService: Engine repair

Great service and much more reasonable than taking it to a dealer. They were able to diagnose and replace a 12V battery in my Lexus CT200h for half the cost of what my dealership quoted me and it literally took them 20 min start to finish. They were upfront with cost and expectations so I never felt like I was getting taken for a ride. I'd use them again in a minute!Service: Auto battery replacement

Amazing experience, strait shooters, honest, great prices, great work on my Prius. Less than half what the dealership had quoted me and they gave me a better solution. I serendipitously met a client of 5 years of SD Hybrids as I was about to give them my car for an engine replacement and he had nothing but great things to say about them. If you have an issue with the Prius I highly recommend them.

Very Professional, sweet and caring! This is my first Prius and was apprehensive to go to a new place for service. They really took their time to explain everything! Very fast and professional. The dealership gave me a list of "requiring immediate attention" items after my routine oil change. I brought the concerns to William and he took care of everything, also told me that one of the recommended "immediate" repairs was not necessary, and also recommended that I have someone take a look at a brake drum that was making a funny sound (as they don't do breaks) which the dealership never mentioned. William is a stand-up guy who does great work and he is honest! It's so clear he really cares about his customers. We've been here several times and we don't plan to go anywhere else.Service: Steering & suspension replacement

After the runaround by two other mechanics, I was referred to Will (Owner/Operator) at SD Hybrids. He knew the problem, had the Inverter Water Pump for my 2005 Prius in stock, and even though he was closing within 90 mins, he repaired it on the spot. Just 3 days before Christmas, he went the extra mile to get me going. Will is an amazing, honest and fair mechanic who knows his stuff. Superb service, and clean facilities. This place is so honest! GREAT company. On 2 different occasions I had called for my 2015 Prius. They told me exactly what was wrong and it cost less than half of what the dealership quoted. The second time they referred me back to the dealership since it was covered still under warranty - thats honest! The dealership that I had already gone to never told me this! They have saved me so much money and didn't even get anything out of the second visit. I should have given them some money still. Super straightforward, honest guys- thank goodness!

The dealership said I had a blown head gasket and wanted over $4600 to repair. I called Will and Mike. They replaced my entire engine with a rebuilt one with half the miles on it for over a thousand dollars LESS! Great guys. Knowledgeable and affable. Man of integrity!!My 2016 Prius with 100k miles lit up like a Christmas tree. I called SD Hybrid and told them my issue. He let me know that my car was still covered under warranty and to take it to the dealer. I thought that was pretty standup and honest!!

Mike was so wonderful to work with. He took the time to listen to me and make sure the care was safe after putting the new engine in. He didn't rush but was quick and efficient in his work. Anyone that needs work on a hybrid call SD Hybrid.

Quick, easy and fantastic service. I've searched endlessly for someone to fix a front vent issue the dealership quoted me a ridiculous price for. SD Hybrids had it fixed in just a few hours and even threw in an oil change. Fantastic!

Great guys well educated on Priuses. Did a prebuy diagnostic and informed me about what I should expect from the car and what to do about general maintanence. Also they added on and Uber/Lyft inspection for a reasonable price. Skip the toyota dealership(I have generally heard bad reviews of those in the area) and come here!

I had a great experience, the gentlemen here were very nice and personable. They knew what they were talking about and got the job done quickly and were honest about their hours and didn t over charge me. I know because I was charged less than quoted for actual time. The were nice enough to work with me for buying my own parts. And they did a fabulous job on all the repairs. I m Very happy with the service I received, I highly recommend them and I will return to them for any future mechanical needs.

My hybrid battery in my Prius died unfortunately for me, and the dealers wanted $2500 for it! That's when I found Will who was able to take care of the job for a mere fraction of that price. He was able to recondition my battery quickly, talk me through all the details of the job, and fix my car! His repair comes with a 12,000 mile/1 year warranty, and it is the best deal in town. Highly recommend going to Will rather than getting taken for a ride by the dealership.

Highly recommended if you own a prius. P1121 code fixed same day half the price of the dealership. OEM part with lifetime warranty. Staff is very professional and honest. Super smooth transaction. Paid for my invoice online before I picked up the car. Dropped off at 10AM and car was ready within an hour. This place is awesome. Thanks Will!

Absolutely amazing! I can not recommend this place or thank Will enough! Honest, knowledgable, fair and friendly mechanics! I just had a 12 volt battery replaced in my 2004 Prius and Will had a battery ordered and installed in probably about 35 min for am ore than reasonable price compared to what I had been quoted for both the 12 volt and the hybrid battery. Save yourself some time and money go to SD Hybrid!

Will is an awesome guy!!! Fixed my Prius with a bad hybrid battery within 48 hours and had me back on the road. By far one of the best shops I ve been to in my life. He explains everything in great detail and is extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommend this shop.Thanks again, Kolby

Will was willing to talk shop and generous with information. He replaced one module with full reconditioning afterward, all for a great price. I've put more than 3000 miles on the hybrid battery for my 2004 Prius with no problems since; it's back to its usual performance.

I hate to brag, but I have the best mechanic out there.No BS... no games, no gimmicks. He's to-the-point, honest, and doesn't overcharge.I'm hesitant to tell the world cuz I don't want him to get so busy he can't see me... not many people can take care of a prius like him.

I had trouble with the cooling fan on my 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid. The dealer wanted nearly $1,000 for the replacement including labor. Will found me a used part and replaced it same day. Saved me about $700! Great service..above and beyond. I can recommend Will without reservation.

So these guys are awesome, down to earth, friendly, and super knowledgable. They helped me with an electrical issue, as well as a loud noise after shutting my engine off. Both fixed timely, with great prices, and no issues since!
