After visiting the auto repair shop for my car, I was pleasantly surprised by the high level of service. The staff demonstrated professionalism, efficiency, and attention to detail. The repair was done with quality, and my questions were thoroughly explained. The convenient location and cleanliness of the shop also made a positive impression. The entire process was transparent, and I felt my car was in reliable hands. The outcome exceeded my expectations my car looks and operates as if it just came out of the showroom. I highly recommend this shop to anyone valuing quality and professionalism in auto service. Thanks for the excellent service!I also want to add that I have not met such care about customers for a long time, the guys were attentive to my problem and tried to help me, I am an old man and it is difficult for me sometimes to understand what I need, they were patient and did a great job!

I had been dealing with an issue on my car for 4 months. I had already put almost $2k into an issue and just kept having problems. I was up in arms in frustration and am very grateful for the reviews for this spot. I knew I wanted to bring my car here. As a female, sometimes you feel nervous to take your car in because you can be taken advantage of. Walked in for a diagnosis and from the get-go was treated with respect. They were very honest and straightforward. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for great work.

Brought my crosstrek in 2 hours before closing today for an oil change and new brakes. Sean had my car ready before closing and at a very reasonable price. I ll be back

Came in for a serious vehicle issue. Looking at thousands of dollars in repairs. Owner was up front and honest about my solutions. Although his advice didn't personally make him more money, he was honest, that is what matters most to me. One simple gesture to earn my business for life. Thanks again.

What can I say other than I unreservedly recommend Sean and his team. I've been taking my cars to him for going on 12 years and have always been happy with his service. As others have attested, Sean always lays out all the options after diagnosing the problem and then always stands by his work. I can't imagine owning a late model car and not having the peace of mind of knowing I have a capable and trustworthy mechanic for everything from regular oil and tire changes to big jobs like head gasket and transmission replacements.Services: Transmission, Air & cabin filter replacement, Exhaust, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, Auto engine diagnostic, Wheel alignment, Transmission repair, Air conditioning, Brake service & repair, Battery, Oil change

This automotive repair company is the best I have ever had in San Diego. Sean (the Owner) is very personable and has a policy to not nickel and dime people but to be honest and respectful to his customers. They do really great work & keep prices down.I will continue to use them for all work on my truck & car forever. James is the best in customer service! I recommend this auto shop for ALL your Auto needs.

Sean and Ryan seemed very honest with me when I brought my car for an engine light diagnosis. The repair needed were too costly so I ended up not keeping my car and they helped me with that as well.

Honest owner and trained mechanics. Will give you true advise whether it benefits him or not. I ve had several work vehicles repaired here and saved me huge as the other mechanic was quoting a bunch of non necessary repairs.

If I could give these guys 100/5, I would. We are travelling from Canada in a large, unique van, and after being denied by multiple mechanics across town and being ripped off by a mechanic in Phoenix, we found Sean and his guys here in San Diego. These are some of the most honest people we've ever come across in any service industry whatsoever, not just mechanics. Sean, sure, he works on cars - but he helps PEOPLE and you can tell he really cares. After being quoted $3,000+ and 3 weeks in the shop by other guys, Sean had us out in 1 day for a few hundred bucks. He looks beyond the OBD reader and at the actual vehicle in front of him, then diagnoses as per his extensive experience. Also HUGE shoutout to James (I believe that was his name) and the other guys for taking the time to work on our beloved home on wheels & talk to us like we were actual people and not just dollar signs. These guys are salt of the earth human beings and fantastic mechanics. I'd be confident giving them my money, not that they'd take much anyway. My warning light said I needed brake service.Took my car to SD Auto due to the high ratings, on Yelp.Sean and his staff, including the very nice lady that works in the office, were excellent.They inspected my car and said there was nothing wrong with my breaks.I really appreciated their honesty.I will be taking my BMW there, in the future for service.

Sean's the best!!! Honest, straightforward and really truly nice. I took my car in for a check because I'm driving cross country. I was fully intending to spend $$$ on a tune up but I left without spending a dime. Sean sent me on my way because the car needed nothing. He also saved me $$$ because the tire store had me convinced I needed 4 brand new tires. Trust Sean, I do!

Sean the owner is a great mechanic as well as his team. In and out w/o an appointment for an oil change. Quick, professional and clean. Uses only American parts, no off brands. Recommend for all your automotive needs.

This is the best place to have any work done on your car except for Smog and Auto Body Work. The owners are very friendly. They don't nickel and dime you. They do exactly what is needed for your vehicle. And then if they find something else that needs to be done they recommend it for you. I would totally recommend San Diego Auto Service above all other places to have your vehicle worked on. Sean is very personable an honest. If I could give this place 10 Stars I would

Best auto shop in San Diego! They treat you like family! It is so hard to find a trustworthy auto shop, these guys are amazing! I ve been going to them for years and am blown away every time by the great services, knowledge, and kindness. You won t be disappointed! I searched around a lot when I first moved to San Diego several years ago, and this place has always been the best! This is their new location so not as many reviews yet but same ppl work here as the old location

Best mechanic in San Diego. Straightforward and honest. I ve been taking my Tacoma to Sean for 10 years (since he owned Advantec). He and his crew are respectful, knowledgeable, and efficient. I feel as if I m taking my truck to be fixed by my dad, uncle, and brothers.

It took me a few years to find a great mechanic in San Diego one who can explain problems and solutions clearly, and always honestly explains the costs of doing or not doing certain repairs. I went to Sean s shop for several years when he was in Normal Heights, and have followed him to his mission gorge location too. Honestly it doesn t matter where he moves, as long as he s still in San Diego this is where I ll take my cars.

My 2003 Honda CRV drives like a new car again. The work doneon the installation of four new struts, two front control arms and other work made my driving feel more stable and quiet. My passengers noticed the improvement. All the qualities of trust, competence, caring, and commitment, shows in this business. Great work Sean and staff!

So glad I found this man at SD Auto Service! I've been a long time customer of Sean Dang from Advantec auto and I was super bummed when I heard Sean sold Advantec Auto. Apparently, Sean Dang has opened a new place even closer to my house! He no longer calls his garage Advantec Auto but more appropriately SD Auto ServiceOh, and my wife just got a new radiator put in her car. Sean was fast, straightforward and reasonably priced. The car runs great! It might not be called Advantec Auto but it doesn't matter as long as Sean Dang is there! I like the name SD Auto Service better anyways.

The best shop I've found in San Diego. The new location is definitely less accessible for me, but I would drive an hour to get this level of service. Sean's the best.
