I trust these guys with my 1 of 1 unique vehicle. They ve done multiple large projects for me and I will continue to give them my business. San Diego Lotus owners should feel they re in good hands as should anyone else who is looking for not only an honest mechanic but also a competent one.Detail oriented - I utilize this vehicle mostly for the track and I was pleasantly surprised to see how much they tidied the engine bay, re-mounted a side scoop, fixed the various half-hearted work of others, and in general went above and beyond the scope of the job.Some shops will do the absolute minimum and others truly care and are passionate about their work these guys are the latter and one of the good ones. Andi in the front is great and the Norwegian brothers are fantastic

Had a wonderful experience working with Ben on my 2006 BMW. Ben was very efficient and offered his expertise on how to maintain my car going forward to increase the longevity. I came in knowing I needed and oil change and saw an oil leak. He was quick to run diagnostics on my car and get back to me with the time and estimates it would take to fix my car. I had no appointment and felt treated as if I had been a long time customer. I am very grateful to have found this repair shop and will continue to bring my car here and will recommend Ben to all my euro car friends. Have a Audi RS4 needed complete engine work done would have more then likely needed to install a new short block minimum. I contacted the shop and talk to someone explain that I had a bad piston ring and may be looking to either replace or rebuild the engine. He stated he would look into options for me and get back to me, NEVER HEARD BACK.A week later I drove to the shop and talk to the owner about my issue and what options I would have, we talked about replacing with a new short block, upgrading the pistons etc. He said he would look into options and get back to me in a few days, NEVER HEARD BACK!!. Called the shop again a week later and talk to the lady that works their and how no one person has called me back, she stated she would have to owner call me that day, NEVER HEARD BACK!!! Called the shop one more time a few days later and told them how I have consistently never heard back from them. She apologized and said she knew who I was and would have the owner call me, NEVER HEARD BACK!!!If this is how they treat a customer who is looking and willing to spend the kind of money I am, to replacing a engine and rebuild it with new internals, then I would hate to see how they treat the lower end customers. All these good reviews I thought I was going to a professional shop that I could get some serious work done. All I go was highly un-professional people would don't seem to care about their customers enough to show them the respect of at least contacting them and stating things are busy they needed more time. That I can understand and respect, but I guess they don't need my business.

This is an awesome shop to take your precious euro car, especially a classic, which is what I was particular on. I had an awesome experience interacting with Julie, the office manager, and Ben, owner and mechanic. Both of them were extremely friendly and loved to have a conversation, which I appreciate a lot more than just a shop that takes your car and money. Ben was more than happy to talk about the cars he had in his shop and their expected build.I took my 1988 BMW 325is (E30) there for custom fabricated rear sway bar mounting reinforcements and minor body work...which then became severe body work; more on that later. I, unfortunately, only had a week to get work done as I was moving, but Ben took the challenge confidently and promised me my car would be ready.Ben knew exactly what to do with my car and was quick to get to working on it. Julie was great at giving me daily updates via email on the status of my car and would include pictures whenever a problem occurred such as my body work request.I initially took it in for what I thought would be minor rust repair since I was taking the car to Washington. The rust repair ended up being a larger rear body repair and given a week, Ben did what he could possibly do with my car in that given time, which is another reason this shop deserves a great review because you could tell that Ben actually cared for your car; and as a car enthusiast, that is all you can ask for of a shop. I'm sure if I had more time the car would've been done up all the way, but for the work I received and their cost, you CANNOT beat San Diego Performance European. One of the best shops in San Diego and I will continue to go there whenever I'm in town.

This place has been honest and reasonable with all work completed on both my Volkswagen Golf and my Subaru Impreza. I trust this place with all my vehicle repairs. All my dealings with this shop and its employees have been positive, and prices fair. I would recommend San Diego Performance European to anyone looking for a great and painless vehicle repair/work shop experience.

The local BMW dealer had quoted me roughly a $2700 repair for a fix on my door locking mechanism and radiator replacement. My door was locked shut and the dealer had told me that they d need to take the door apart from the outside and that it was tricky to do, but they had a guy. Also advised me that there was a hole in my radiator, which needed repair.SDPE had my door open in a minute or 2, (without the complex disassembly). Furthermore ... it wasn t my radiator that was leaking, but rather the coolant tank. Big difference.Had I trusted the dealer ... they would ve replaced a perfectly fine radiator and I would ve been back later for another repair .Saved me about $1800 and a 2nd trip.

Shady company, stay away! If I could give 0 stars, I would. I am from the Chicago area and needed a Pre-Purchase inspection done. These guys seemed decent, based on the reviews. They claimed to do an inspection and noted on the PPI that:"Vehicle is in excellent condition with no evidence of body or structural damage. All painted parts appear to have original paint and all undercarraige structure in original condition."Based on this information, I purchased the car. When the vehicle was being picked up for transportation from San Diego to Chicago, the driver called me and informed me that there was bumper damage as well as a condensed fog light ($200 part alone.) Since I had already purchased the car, there was no way to negotiate this into the price. San Diego charged me $108 for an inspection that they never did, and I will be out of hundreds of dollars due to their fake inspection. I emailed them as soon as the car was delivered last week, and they have not responded to me yet, even though they were quick to respond within minutes when the time came to charge me. Now I am worried if they even looked at any of the items they claim to have "inspected."

I must say the owner/Technician Mr.Ben is a very hard working person. He knows how to take care of the car and it's issues. I really appreciate his hard work.Mr.Enzo was also very helpful with sending me the quotes and updates about the repair. Thanks guys. Thanks for all your help.

The salesman I talked with seem to really know a lot about the car specifications for the cars that I was interested in. I was impressed by this and it did not seem like high pressure sales.
