Mark/Alex & Steve are all very knowledgeable when it comes to Porsche ( of any year, make or model ). Great customer service and great offering advice and finding vintage parts. Mark rebuild my 3.0 motor with high end performance parts and it puts out incredible horsepower. I would highly recommend this shop and great prices too.

When I owned a Porsche Cayman S, I used to take it here all the time.The prices were very fair, roughly 1/3 or 1/2 of the quoted dealership prices. And the work was great. Kept my Cayman running like the day I bought it.I ll have to see if I can find pictures from the shop. But here are a few of my old ride.Additional Info The ride height and rally black accents were done at a different shop in Midway near Morena Blvd. I actually left my previous Porsche mechanic because they gave me a hard time about doing minor modifications.

This is an honest shop that really takes care of their customers. I towed in a Boxster I had recently purchased as it had developed a coolant leak. Luckily it was a minor issue and they were able to fix the issue quickly. They didn't even charge me! Thanks Performance Independent!

Mark is the best for maintaining your Porsche!Excellent work at a very fair price. If you want free coffee and the loaner car take your car to the Porsche dealership, pay three times the price and enjoy your free coffee.If you want quality work done and someone who is as knowledgeable as anyone out there regarding Porsche than call Mark.

Could not be happier, this shop knows it's business and don't charge and arm and a leg for it. Upgraded my 1976 911 with desperate need of service and were fast and very informative. This may not only be the best Porsche shop I have ever worked with but probably the best auto shop I ve ever worked with. Mark always makes time to answer my dumb questions. He is very honest and very fair. You will not be disappointed if you use him to service your Porsche. My husband s Porsche had been sitting in storage while he was stationed overseas and I had unexpectedly been deployed but wanted the Porsche up and running before reuniting with him back in San Diego. I was able to coordinate a tow truck, quote and service almost effortlessly considering the massive time difference. The guys at performance independent went above and beyond helping me get the vehicle ready to drive. They are known for their solid work and fair prices but the effort and outstanding customer service is another reason why this place is the only place we recommend to friends and the only place our family will ever go.

Honest, family-run business. Quality work at a fair price and they refuse to put garbage parts on your car. Always return calls promptly. I will not take my Porsche anywhere else. HIGHLY recommend.

The owner Mark is an excellent business owner. He's the original shop owner and has been in business for over 35 years. He has unbeatable prices for parts and incredible rates for labor. He knows Porsches in and out, has seen everything, and knows the most cost-effective approaches. He charged me $100 for a full diagnostic of my '99 Boxster's engine and electronics -- the dealership quoted me $250! He went to some great lengths to fix the wiring for my convertible top as well. This place is hands down the best Porsche mehanic in San Diegoz maybe even southern California (a guy from Phoenix takes his 911 here). Mark's even got a retired astrophysicist who repairs the specialty electronic parts!This place is one of a kind. One of the best auto mechanics I've ever known.

This shop is the only place I take my Porsche 911. Mark and his son are simply the best in town at saving you money. Even when they re busy they still have time for me and my dumb questions. They are the reason I m a Porsche owner and I would sell it if they ever closed the shop. They even help with my DIY jobs. If it s not the best shop in town then my name isn t Jim Almand.

I have 15 Porsches at this time, some to sell some to keep and two to raceMark does all of my work. He is a true mechanic that knows how to repair carsnot just replace parts. I can't say enough good things about Mark and Performance Porsche. In the few months I've been in san diego he has already helped me out several times on my temperamental boxster and way under charged me. Seriously a dealer would have charged much more for less personal work. Mark and his crew are truly the best and I will be taking my car to them for as long as I'm in san diego.

Mark is the best Porsche mechanic in San Diego.. Performance Independent Porsche has worked on my 928, SC Targa, 87 Coupe, 84 Coupe & 78 Coupe. Honest, fair and very reliable..!!Whatever you do, stay away from Scott's Porsche/Kenny Bullshit Rumbaugh -Kenny gave poor Jacque's company a bad name.Mark is the man..!! The other places are just over priced & over rated.

Down to earth prices and great knowledge of Porsche aircooled motors without the Porsche attitude you might find in other shops. Mark is the type of guy who will give you the time of day and advice even though he may be in the middle of rebuilding a motor!

Got a clutch replaced and a few other items taken care of on my 911 here. Mark did an outstanding job and saved me a bundle. Would definitely go here over Black Forest or San Diego Porsche.

I recently dealt with a person named Babak Bakhsh who represented themselves as being a member of this garage. Mr. Bakhsh purchased an engine and transmission from us, and after paying in full and requesting us to crate, arrange for shipping and customs brokerage, Mr. Bakhsh "changed his mind" and requested for a full refund. We informed Mr. Bakhsh that we would be happy to refund his purchase, but that however we incurred expenses in crating, and shipment and customs brokerage arrangements, and that a 10% restocking fee would apply.Mr. Bakhsh denied our requests, and opened a dispute with Paypal, which allowed him to receive all of his money back, leaving us with no sale and money out of pocket. Dealing with Mr. Bakhsh and Performance Independent, did nothing but cost us money.

This is the place to go to if you have an older Porsche. Knowledgeable, friendly and fair pricing. They are small and busy. You'll need an appointment.

No need to go anywhere else and pay more. These guys are first rate, and really know Porsche's. I can't count how many times these guys have hooked me up. Quick, Reliable, and no BS Porsche Shop. The best in San Diego, hands down.
