Had service done for a noise that initially was identified as the shocks/springs. When I got it home the noise was still there. Took it back and did a road test with Fernando and we were baffled so I left the car. They did more road testing and identified the problem as the moon roof!!! Who would ever have come up with that. After a bit of lubricant my car is now noise free. Can t thank them enough for their perseverance and commitment to customer service. They really are top notch and have a very happy loyal customer.

my car crapped out on me last week so I called this place and they were able to take me in as they were closing. Aaron diagnosed it the next morning, called me to tell me all the issues and gave me a very fair quote. He told me it would be ready Monday and by Monday afternoon he called me back and had it running smooth again. This was the first time I've had to get my car fixed since moving to San Diego 1.5 years ago and Aaron will be my guy from now on. He's very nice and easygoing.

We really love PB Foreign and Domestic! They have served us well for years on 3 vehicles and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend over dealership or other local facilities. They don t try to upsell you on things you do not need. Super friendly and can usually get you in within a day or two. It is best to call ahead and make an appointment.

Been using these fine folks to service our car since moving to San Diego. Speedy and fair, they also let me bring my own motor oil and replacement parts.A highlight was that a windshield wiper motor part they installed (but I provided) disconnected. I took it in and they made it work again free of charge (the part was not staying connected).Really kind of them. I keep coming back, happily, and will continue doing so.

Best service, best price, they do a great job and are honest! Family owned and operated. I will continue to take my car here. For regular oil changes and maintanance, George is awesome and everyone he employs, this place is great no complaints! Always will look at something if you have a concern like I did. Great family owned business, run a cool father and son duo. I've been taking my cars here for over a decade.I've come across 2 types of mechanics over the years: 1) fixes what needs fixing, checks everthing else out, tells the customer what to keep an eye on/expect in the future. 2) fixes what needs fixing and EVERYTHING else that it touches.PB Foreign and Domestic is type 1) - straightforward, steady, and honest - which is why I keep coming back and I suspect it's why the same guys have been working there for forever too.

If you want a local independent family owned car mechanic that is honest, trustworthy, reasonably priced, and not trying to nickel & dime you these are your guys! Aaron is especially a pleasure to deal with. He went above and beyond at my last oil change to help me on a few things that would have taken tons of time to figure out on my own, you can tell he enjoys helping people (when they aren't too busy) and is just a personable good natured guy which is so great to have in a car mechanic. Porsche Cayman - my car was overheating so I had my car towed to PB Foreign and Domestic Car Repair. The team was able to repair my car ( I needed a new radiator and water pump) and they gave me very fair pricing. I will definitely come back for my preventitive maintenance.

I truly feel like I m getting the service that s required and not being upsold on things I don t need. The price is always better than anywhere else I ve looked and repairs done timely. They always call if the estimate given to me ends up being different, sometimes it s lower and if it s higher they clearly explain why and if it s absolutely necessary or a recommendation. Came here for a check engine light. The code came up as a coolant issue so they replaced the thermostat. A week later the check engine light comes on again under the same driving circumstances. A different older guy was there this time who wouldn t listen to what I said and interrupted me while I was describing the issues. They replaced the thermostat again which did nothing to fix the underlying problem. I told them about a constant whine from the rear of the car and they said they wouldn t be able to fix it, they just added fluid to the power steering which again did nothing to fix the problem, which was in fact a bad gas pump. Lazy and rude would not come here again nor recommend to anyone

No doubt the best auto repair business in town! Was referred to by a friend and have been there ever since I move to San Diego. I previously went to see other auto repair shops and they always seem to be pushy on adding on. Took my Ford Fusion Hybrid in for an estimate on a gas fill problem. Told me to take it to dealer, might be covered since it's an emissions prob. Turns out he was correct, no cost repair! Could have milked me but didn't. Highly appreciated their honesty.

First off want to caveat that this service was early 2021 so essentially 18 months ago pre-pandemic. I've meant to write previously but pandemic well you know. Secondly, I'd likely give them an additional half star if that were possible, just because the way they took responsibility in the end.Anyway, on a referral took took an Audi A3 3.2L in there for a 155k service and thermostat replacement. The staff and manager there were professional and friendly. They seemingly, generally do good work and here s my experience.After picking up the car at the conclusion of service, I got about a mile and a half away when coolant temp sensor came on. Pulled over, popped hood and coolant like everywhere; the reservoir and radiator pretty much drained. Called the shop, waited at least 30 minutes (granted it was a busy Friday afternoon in PB pre-pandemic) for mechanic to show up and add a gallon of coolant just to get the car 1 mile back to their garage.Essentially they had not fastened a coolant hose properly and well boom! And as one who keeps their car in excellent condition over time (read the engine bay was pretty damn clean)... just the mess alone was tough.Anyway, they kept the car overnight and then I picked it up the following afternoon. They had successfully remediated the problem on the repair and the manager reimbursed me for the Uber and gave me a sheet for a free oil change. While they had rinsed down the engine bay to clean off the mess, there was still that coolant smell for a number of days afterwards, not a huge deal but did serve as a constant reminder for a spell.So overall the shop took care of the problem, but it was a bit of a mess. I have another Audi now and while I m generally on the lookout for a good all around shop, I m not likely to take a car back to this one.Because while they ultimately resolved the issue, it really never should have happened. I mean coolant hoses... that could be a really bad thing depending on where this could happen, I was lucky I was just in a residential area.I never utilized the free oil change either but it s likely just because of my experience, and not that they're not a capable shop. The takeaway here is if you need a decently good shop, give them a whirl just double-check the work.

TL;DR; Amazing service, amazing prices, honest mechanics. Really impressed.I brought my car in thinking I just needed my tie rods replaced and was quoted a really good price. He also said he would check my engine lights for free which is $100 at a lot of other shops. When they inspected the vehicle they found the entire steering rack was broken and called me saying it would be a waste of money to replace the tie rods. They didn't charge me anything even when i offered. Amazing service from George at amazing prices. This car is mechanically totaled but i will definitely be bringing my future cars here.

I already posted this on Yelp, but I'll post it here too. These guys deserve all the positive reviews they get, because they are the best.After a recommendation by a friend who lived in PB, I first met George (and later Aaron) when I was looking for a mechanic who could briefly check out the (Mystery) Ford I was planning to buy. Ever since that first encounter, he and his mechanics have done every single fix that was ever needed and, importantly, refrained from doing repairs that others told me I needed, but did not actually need.They will give you clear feedback, care for your car, do the repairs quick (mostly within a day, two at most), and are cheaper than most other shops I've heard about. And there is always time for a friendly chat about other stuff, like our shared Dutch descent.Throughout the years, I have recommended them to all my friends and colleagues who ever needed a repair and every single one of them was very happy with their service.We'll be moving away from San Diego within a couple of weeks, and I can only hope that we'll find a shop that is as great and honest as this one.See ya George.

I loved them. They repaired my car diligently and the cost was very reasonable for the service. The staff is incredibly nice and very reliable. They even let me keep my car an extra couple days to avoid the side sweeping ruckus! Ill be using them for all my auto repairs!!

The most honest trustworthy place in San Diego and probably in the nation, I would hand them My car keys and a blank check in a heartbeat. My car is an old 2006 VW, I had a problem with the cooling system which triggered the check engine light. The estimate was $850, the owner told me that my car was safe to drive, just an electronic problem that didn't really need to be fixed and he sure was right, 12 month later my car still going strong. Any other place would have pressured me into fixing the check engine light! A friend of mine had the car shaking when she was driving, other places came up with crazy estimates, PB foreign just changed her rotors and brakes and the car has been running like a champ for 6 month. One of my other car was left outside overnight so they could fix it in the morning, unfortunately it got a little dent on the rear door when I picked it up; the owner George told me to get an estimate and that he would take care of it, and sure enough, he is an old timer and a man of his words, he did take care of it within 24 HOURS!! Best company ever, I will never go anywhere else in San Diego; they know cars like the back of their hands, they fix it right the first time, and they fix only what needs to be fixed.. I wish them a prosperous business full of happy customers like myself.. thanks again for your help.

100% the MOST reliable and trustworthy family owned auto shop you could ever go to. My whole family and close friends go to PB Foreign. Every time my friends ask me where they should go, I send them to PB Foreign. Aaron and George work on my Ford F-150 all the time and they provide the best customer service. I have been to terrible auto shops who have ripped me off and lied about the condition of my truck. I know PB Foreign will always take great care of my truck and have my best interest. It is always a pleasure doing business with them.

As a twenty something that knows literally nothing about cars, I get swindled pretty easily. I have never felt swindled at PB Foreign & Domestic, quite the contrary actually; I feel that Aaron goes out of his way to make sure his customers fully understand the time, cost, labor, etc. that goes into each repair. He will never do any work without your full permission. There are no hidden fees or prices, everything is very clear and up front. I would recommend this place to anyone. Aaron and all his employees are respectful and pleasant to talk to. Thank you Aaron and team!

My first time here, I brought my 328i for an oil change, the service took about an hour with an affordable price and they check engine lights/codes. My car runs much better and I definitely recommend this auto shop. Will be coming back. Thank you!

I am so thankful I found PB Foreign and Domestic. They are quick, friendly, and extremely fair. I came here for a second opinion after another local shop tried charging me over $1300 for a non-existent problem, and I m so glad I did! They quickly identified the actual issue, charged fair prices, and I left a happy customer. This is the only place I will bring my car from now on.
