Car problems are never easy to deal with, but Sam and the technicians at North Park Auto were personable, honest, direct, and so so helpful in pointing me in the right direction with what do with my older vehicle. I appreciate the time they took to explain the facts, clearly and honestly. I will be returning and recommending them for the future. 10/10 Hands down best shop in San Diego. I had a problem that the 2 previous mechanics I went to couldn t figure out, but these guys got right to it for a great price. Both the girl at the desk and Jason provided amazing service that exceeded my expectations. They looked out for me and made sure I didn t spend more money than I had to.

5th time this shop has saved my Jeep. I have interacted with 6 people that work this shop and every single one of them is knowledgeable, respectful and they always work within their scope of practice (to which I have not found a limit to). I have been going to this shop for years and I wouldn t trust anyone else. If I lived in NEW JERSEY, I would just ship it here for them to work on it. If you are reading this, that means your looking for a shop. Well you found it.

When our longtime family mechanic retired, we were pretty depressed and anxious about the next time one of our cars needed a repair. I did a little research and read so many positive comments about Jason and North Park Auto Repair that I decided to give it a shot. SOOOOOO glad I did because after several years of coming here now, I can tell you that he and his staff are the most honest, polite, professional people you'll ever run across in the auto repair business. One time I took my Mom's car there cause a light had come on and there were another couple of things that had to be looked at. When I went to pick it up, I asked how much it was going to be and he told me, there's nothing wrong with that car, and consequently there was no charge. I'm telling you, they are the gold standard.

My husband and I drove from Vegas to visit family here in San Diego . A day after we arrived, our engine light came on. Naturally, we went to dodge there in San Diego which was a huge mistake . They were incredibly rude and turned us away SO fast . My husband and I were desperate as we needed to get back home to our 2 young children and didn t want to be stranded . We hopped on google and saw a North Park auto repair and decided to call. Immediately we felt welcomed as if we were family . They sat us down explained the process and we re very clear on what they were going to do . We went in with the impression we would be paying a $125 service fee to look at it .They were very thorough looking at our car and took their time but when we arrived they told us they couldn t figure out what was going on and stated we should make an appointment at dodge for other testing. We were ready to pay $125 for them looking at it which we would ve been glad to do so because they were just so kind to us but told us it wasn t necessary and to just go ahead and enjoy our day and best of luck to us. We couldn t leave without leaving them anything so we did end up tipping them .We took our car to dodge again and it was the worst experience ever and quoted us a Jae dropping amount of which we were completely surprised over . We ended up calling Notth Park for their advice if this sounded correct and they gave us incredibly honest, and thorough advice . It s as if they were our personal auto repair shop that we ve been taking our car to for YEARS . These people are very honest and kind . They are not like the other places that are lazy and money hungry . They truly try their best to help you and we are very thankful our paths crossed with them . Good people . My car broke down in the middle of the 163 freeway and I took it to North Park Auto. My girlfriend has been loyal to this mechanic for years and speaks highly of him, so I wanted to try him out. Jason is such a stand up guy. He gave me honest advice about my car, which was to take it to my dealership because there seemed to be a big problem with the engine. He offered to fix it himself but recommended taking it in because there may be a warranty or a bigger issue at hand to deal with. I am so grateful to have a mechanic I can trust now. Next time I even need an oil change I am going here to support an honest, local business. Thank you Jason and Sofa! Edit: now $50, kind of meh price, still nicer to shop in vons that sit around the waiting room.I used them to smog my 2011 rav4 which cost a total of $30 out the door with the coupon on their website. Conveniently located next to Vons I was even able to use the waiting time( which was about 30 min) to do my grocery shopping. As long as their prices stay the same I can't imagine a better place to get my cars smogged.Service: Emissions testing

I've had good experiences here so far. I've had two or 3 oil changes, brake work, shocks replaced and a drive belt.

Had to get a smog check inspection and certification done on our 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid. Jason, the owner, was very friendly, professional, and honest. Prices are very affordable. I highly recommend to anyone in San Diego who need auto service or repair done on their vehicle. Their auto mechanics were extremely quick and efficient. We ll definitely be coming back for our car repair needs.

Awesome people specially Jason ,this review is overdue ,I have been going there for few years with my Mercedes c230 and my 1995 Acura ,from oil change to major work and we are thrilled with the excellent service this shop has...When looking for someone to trust your car, we are always asking"Can i trust them?"... They have the BEST customer service. The owner, Jason is very professional, helpful and honest.My car was making an annoying noise while turning and they fixed it for me.I was thinking the windshield reservoir needs to be changed which was expensive, but they checked and said it doesn t need to be changed and the problem is something else, that they have fixed it, and it was lesser expensive than changing the reservoir( they are HONEST!)My overall experience is PERFECT , and I will recommend everyone to visit them to diagnose the vehicle problems and to fix it. My check engine light was on and I tried to get to my car dealership, but they didn t have any appt available for another week. I called North Park auto repair and they were able to get me in the next day. They scanned my car and even put air in my tires, both for free! I took my car to the dealership to get a recall addressed and the dealership told me I needed new breaks. I was hesitant to get it done there in general, but I also wasn't sure why or how badly I needed breaks at all. So I went to North Park Auto and dropped my car off, only to get a call within a few hours that confirmed the need but also explained to me the reasons why, and how urgently, I needed them fixed. Not to mention, the price to repair was more than half of what the dealership wanted.North Park Auto Repair is the best garage in the area, by far. I trust everyone there whole-heartedly, which isn't something people usually say about their garage.Not only do they offer high-quality service, but they call you every step of the way to explain what is going on and ensure you are making the best informed decision.Services: Electrical, Brakes, Smog certification

Great amazing service. Evaluated my car very quick. Gave me a very reasonable price and had great customer service. Worked around my schedule to get my car done and even told me about a future issue I need to fix. I will definitely be coming here for all my repairs moving forward.

Jason is the nicest business man I have ever spoken to. Although they don't provide tire services here (minimal services are provided that I don't want to wrongly specify), he took the time to call me back and answer my questions about purchasing new tires for my vehicle. He was honest and very willing to help. Jason is a great resource and I would highly recommend going to him for you auto repair needs. The staff were professional and kind and did not charge me any additional fees. They explained my car issues with patience and ease. I ve had horrible experiences in the past with other auto mechanic shops, especially being a woman and feeling taking advantage of with extra charges. Friendly, they look out for their customers, and offer fast service. So I was looking at a $185 bill for towing and getting my car inspected for damages, Jason was like "oh no way" saw that the car couldn't be repaired because of body damage, pulled it out of the service lineup, called me to let me know, then helped to get my car back home asking only for $65 for the tow operator forgoing his own service fees. ive dealt with shady mechanics who will take advantage of every situation, that is not Jason who is a friend even to a first time customer. I got the impression that they're trying to match value to the prices they ask. Totally Worth checking these guys out if you're local.

I called around to some shops in the area when I first moved here, and was lucky enough to speak with Jason directly on the phone as I did. His candidness about pricing was what struck me most, initially. I just picked my car up from his shop after they replaced my rear shocks. I took my car here this morning for a smog. They made it quick, easy and affordable. I called a few mechanics to get smog estimates and North Park Auto Repair was definitely the cheapest. I have just moved here from Utah, and having some mechanical issues with my car. I didn t know where to go or who to trust. I took a leap of faith and went to these guys hoping that they would give me an honest answer about my car and what it s actual repair needs were. They did just that and more and giving me a totally genuine honest answer and not charging me for any necessary repairs that I didn t really need. Good honest car people are super hard to come by. I would highly recommend going here for any sort of repairs!

I only came here cause they got high reviews on google and it did not disappoint. I had a check engine problem related to my evap system on my toyota 4 runner. I have a private mechanic but he couldn't fix my problem. Jason and his team diagnosed my problem and finally was able to get my smog passed. I'm sure the prices are fairly the same everywhere else, but what's hard to find is a honest and informative mechanic and that's what you get here. This is where i'll get my car fixed from now on.
