I love this place! I've been going here to get all my work done on my car the past couple of years. They're really nice and friendly, provide great service, and their prices are very fair (and much cheaper than going to the dealership!) We always just drop our car off for an oil change and hang out at a local coffee shop or grab something to eat in the area. They're very knowledgeable and you can just tell that they are there to help you; and not just trying to add on more things that you don't need to have done on your car. They're usually done pretty quickly and give us a call once it's ready. We all don't look forward to having to get work done on our cars, but I definitely don't mind giving this place a call for an appointment when I have to!

Had a headlight that was out and needed help troubleshooting. John and Jim were fantastic and the service manager Steve wonderful as usual. Hourly rates at $120.00 as of 11/29/2017.

I was new to the area and needed headlights replaced. They not only fit me into their busy schedule, there was NO CHARGE for the parts OR service. I returned to get Sch B service for my E350. They were warm, professional and most of all efficient and HUNDREDS LESS than Mercedes dealerships! I am taking my son's car for his service. Great service which is rare in todays consumer market. KUDOS!

I did a standard "A" service and an intermittent check engine light on my low mile 2006 C230 Sport. Quite honestly I have tried every independent Mercedes shop in San Diego and this is the first time that I did not feel ripped off or had someone try too hard to sell me additional services in a long time. The price for the A service was quoted up front and once the check engine light problem was diagnosed, I was informed of the problem and the options I had. I was not charged for the check engine light diagnoses. Everything was explained to me and I was given several options, including the possible consequences of waiting until the problem became more persistent, which is what I did for now. What would be useful for all of you to know is, while I'm not a mechanic, I used to own a shop and have been around car repair business most of my life. While I know everyone looks at repair shops with their own expectations, I was very pleased and will go back to them for my next service. My sister has an E Class and she will also be going to Nick's for service. I hope this review helps all of you.

I just picked my car up from it's second service at Nick's Auto Repair. I took it in August last year and had a great experience all around.I made an appointment to drop my vehicle off at 7:30A this morning and I arrived 5 mins early. The door to the reception area was open so I walked in to check in - the receptionist was clearly irritated that I was there as well as the man who opened the garage door for me. So much so, that I double checked and asked if my appointment time was 7:30, which they confirmed was correct. Ok, like sorry to bother you and be an inconvenience? Maybe you shouldn't open so early if you aren't morning people.Later I got a call that some additional services (tires, which they don't do and brakes which they offered to replace). Any time I asked a question, the same receptionist interrupted me - I don't think I got one complete sentence out. She also spoke to me like I was stupid. Ultimately I asked for a quote for the brakes (since by this point I was frustrated). When I picked up my car and paid, the "quote" just said $375+ tax. I asked for an itemized quote - parts + labor, to include brand of brake pads. When I asked she just said, oh we use Mercedes parts. Ok, google 'Mercedes Benz brand brake pads" or call a dealer and see what comes up - nothing actionable with a range from $30-$300. I have an AMG with low-profile high-speed rated tires and I need brakes to match. Sorry for being particular and wanting a better understanding. They also couldn't take a picture of my brake pads to show me the wear OR tell me what the lifespan is/ est time left. But she was sure to tell me that if I waited too long and it got down to the rotors, they would charge me more. Hmm..Anyway, if you are going in for a standard service, their prices are great. Customer service is nonexistent. If you want any details or have questions, you will get interrupted at minimum and perhaps even insulted. Not the vibe of a trustworthy place. Ladies, it's one of those places that you "have to call your dad/husband to check" kind of vibe and I wouldn't recommend it.Service: Oil change

Called Nick's Auto Repair same day for my 2007 Mercedes-Benz ML-350 which needed a factory scanned reset and inspection of the SRS electronics. The work was done promptly, efficiently, and professionally. They even replaced the 2 parking lamp bulbs that I needed, all within just an hour. This shop is super clean, crisp, and the waiting area is convenient with a fully stocked coffee counter, and clean restroom, with a nice view of the service area and the outside, which somewhat resembles an aircraft hangar, decorated with Mercedes-Benz memorabilia which they also sell on display. Overall, great first impression for my first time here, and great service experience. Surprisingly, it was not crowded at all, nice and quiet place with sharp-looking techs, compared to the other Mercedes places, where I called and could not even get an appointment within the same day. I would definitely come back here and highly recommend for future Mercedes-specific service needs.

Beware of this place!!! About the only good thing here is their receptionist Michelle. Very helpful. However, their mechanics, in particular Jim, horrible at providing a diagnostic. Took my car in on a Wednesday to have it looked at as my battery power was draining. They thought this was particularly common in my car yr and model. They asked I leave it overnight which I did. By Friday afternoon I hadn't heard anything so I called in to check up on the car. I was greeted by someone, not Michelle as she was feeling sick and was out for the day. This new person asked if she could call back because Jim was busy. Received a call back at 4:30 PM letting me know Jim would not be able to make any repairs. The car needed a new instrument cluster and said the dealer is the only one who can make such a repair due to programing. Taking their advice I had the instrument cluster repaired only to continue having the same issue!!! I am beyond disappointed with Nick's. Bring your vehicle only for oil changes and minor repairs. Not sure they have quality techs here... My 2 cents .

They are a life saver! With my Benz the dealership is always out of the questions. Wait lines are terrible and the pricing is outrageous. Nick s Auto is reasonably priced and able to help with all of my mechanical issues I ve ran into. Highly recommend!

Great experience. Steve, my mechanic, got to work on my car right away with no appointment. He found a way to save me money on my parts and fixed everything I brought the car in for and a few things that he just saw and didn't charge me for, or even mention. It's always a great experience when someone over delivers. I'll definitely be using this shop from now on. Thanks guys!

I own a 2011 Mercedes E350 Diesel. Just moved from Florida. Car did not pass smog check. Found these guys online and they took great care of my car. Steve the manager is very knowledgeable. Michelle at the office kept me updated with work progress. Few parts and days later car has passed the tough California smog check. Thank you guys. A+++

My family and I have been going to Nicks for over 20 years. I have always had a personal and professional service. You know your car is fixed correctly and at a price you can trust.

Sent a Mercedes Wagon over from the dealer for a pre-purchase inspection. Hadn't seen the car in person but the photos looked clean. Was prepared to pay their 135$ inspection charge, when Steve called me to let me know that the car did not look so hot cosmetically, that the infotainment system was damaged, as well as some other interior functions. He didn't charge me a penny and saved me a whole lot of time.

Nick has been a staple of the San Diego auto scene since before I was born. His son Jim learned everything from Nick and now runs the shop in the same, old-fashioned, honest, efficient and professional manner. Could not recommend a better shop for taking care of your pride and joy, your Mercedes-Benz.

My 12 year old Mercedes is starting to show its age. Jim gave me a complete list of everything he recommended, then made an honest recommendation about what should be done now and what can wait. He even found a way to fix a $900 problem for $100. Thanks for helping out my cashflow!

They can't work on a 2004 s430... the lady actually called my car old, in a dismissive tone. She actually said the old cars take to much time to work on, lol... She said the cutoff is 15 years. In other words, this shop can't or won't take new customers with cars over 15 years old.
