My mother had her vehicle misdiagnosed and once we paid to have an extra part replaced they mentioned that the compressor was the reason and that it was 1200 to replace. On the way home from the shop the belt popped off. When I called to let them know they had no remorse they said "we can put it back on for you but it's going to keep coming back off" would have been nice to know before having it replaced. When bringing it in to have the serpentine belt replaced we let them know that the compressor was not working and that the AC had not been on for a while. But instead of letting us know that the compressor was the reason for the belt popping off they said that the reason the belt came off was because the tensioner was bad so of course we had to replace the tensioner and the belt. More $. Whatever they can do to turn a profit.

Have taken my Jeep here since 2020, suddenly they refuse my business because my Jeep is modded, though they ve worked on it before. Ok fine bro, deny the business.

Paid 7k for a engine swap and new engine blew less than a year later! They only gave me a 3 month warranty. I will never go there again..

Took my van to have a simple oli change and they overflow with oil. See picture. Took back so they could fix it and the guys told me they will not help me. I paid $170 for the oli chain they should be wiling to fix it their mistake.Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

Honest and friendly. These guys go out the way to make sure you don t spend more than necessary to get your vehicle bake in good working order. They have stood behind there work and save us money on both our personal and business vehicles. We recommend to all of our family and friends!

Great customer service! Marcos helped me with one of my back lights and checked my oil levels per request. He told me that the levels were good and I loved his honesty. Other places could have lied to change the oil and charge for that. I will definitely come back for an oil change next time and use their services again. I called Mission Bay Auto to ask about bringing my car in for a brake service. They told me they weren t busy and to head over and they could take me right away. They did the assessment, told me they d call me within the hour (which they did) and gave me options to fix to my brakes. Once we decided on what I wanted to do, they got right to work and fixed my brakes same day. All within a 4-5 hour window of me calling. Highly recommend. We were from out of town and ended up going to Mission Bay because of their excellent review rating. We also want to add our high praises for this mechanic shop and for Marcus. If we could give it a higher rating then 5 we would. They worked with us, our unique situation, and all of it in a timely manner. They made the necessary repairs, were honest about needed to be done, and got us on our way. MBA took care of us quickly and efficiently. We had to get on the road asap and our van needed a new starter. They got us in right away, got a starter over to the shop immediately and had us back on the road in less than 2 hours. 10/10 service.

Both times I ve been here have been poor experiences. Both were diagnostic issues, the first time the issue ended up being fixed by a different shop after this place failed to fix it completely. This recent time was just a diagnostic check after having some engine issues. I was told by the shop that my issue was far more severe than it was. Once I got it home on a jack for myself it took w 3-4 hours to fix, and was completely inaccurate to what I was told. The check itself took less than 10 minutes and I was charged $150 for an incorrect diagnostic. They ll take advantage of you or fail to fix your problem, don t go here

These guys are the real deal. I have a 1988 Chevy K5 Blazer that needed quite a bit of work done. I called around to about five different mechanics before I found one that was comfortable working on my older vehicle. Chris was super responsive and transparent throughout the whole process. One of the things I've been trying to get fixed for literal years is a mystery coolant leak that four other mechanics couldn't locate. MBA automotive figured it out right away and I'm happy to say I haven't had to add coolant to my vehicle since I got it back! Honesty and transparency are so hard to find in a mechanic these days, so I can't recommend these guys enough.

I have been coming to Mission Bay Automotive for over 30 years and, once again, they did not disappoint. Mike at the front desk and the mechanics are first rate. I had to replace a catalytic converter & replace the brakes & they went way out of their way to insure that it was a smooth operation. Troy, Mike, and all the other mechanics working there are as honest as the day is long...a rarity in this day...and they will always treat you fairly and like family. To not use them as your auto repair service could well be one of the worse mistakes you could make. If they say that you need or don't need any auto repair service, then you can feel safe taking it to the bank.

Mission Bay Automotive came highly recommended by a friend. Very highly. I spoke to a couple customers who also felt the same way. My experience was the same. Mike and his team work hard to provide great service and honest opinions and really take care of you like a business should. Highly recommend.

I've used Mission Bay Automotive 4-5 times during the last six years and am always impressed! They re the only place I go for repair work. Here are some of the reasons:- The staff is polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. They are patient and helpful explaining the issue and repair process to someone who knows nothing about cars.- They re transparent about their pricing and the pricing is fair. Several times they didn t even charge me for a quick little fix, like removing a rattling scrap of metal from the underside of my car.- They complete work when promised and stay in communication with me regarding their progressThank you for great service!!!!!

Mission Bay Automotive - What can I say, Troy, Mike and Hector are rock stars!!!I have been coming here for over 25 years. It started out as the recommendation from a friend. I was having an issue with my new 1990 Nissan truck stalling and the Dealer said it was a computer issue and that it would be about $2500. I was maybe 21 and did not have that kind of money.So I took it to Mission Bay Automotive and Troy (the owner) drove it and told me it was not a computer issue since it was too sporadic, but that any number of things could be the cause, and he would have to investigate a bit more. He said, let's start small and work our way up. In about 30 min he called me - it was spark-plug wires. So I had him check out the rest of the truck just to be safe. $60, that was my bill!! He could have made something up and charged me through the nose but that is not the guy he is.Needless to say I have been going here ever since. I have also referred countess people over the years and they have never looked back.They are honest, fast and always go out of their way to serve their customers. I love those guys.P.

Since the day arrived in SD over 3 years ago I have received nothing but first class, professional, competent, reliable, candid and honest service from Hector, Mike and the entire staff at MBA. These guys are the Ritz Carlton of automobile service and repair. They are not only fair and forthright with their assessments and prices, they are courteous and compassionate. If you are shopping for an extraordinary auto service or repair shop you need not look any further. These guys WILL exceed your expectations too.

I had the engine in my Jeep replaced and then it started having issues. I took it in to get a diagnostic. Mike was very honest and professional and charged me less than the estimate. 10/10 will go back here next time I need a mechanic.

My wife bought her dream car about 2 weeks ago, a beautiful 1964 Thunderbird. After a quick transaction she drove up to Laguna to pick the car up. The seller suggested that she drive it down to the gas station and fill it up before her trip home. After filling up, car would not start. Tow back to the seller's shop.A few days later she received a phone call that it was simply a battery cable. She drove back up and drove the car home. Tried to start it again, no go.We called up a local automotive repair place that specializes in classic cars with great ratings. They were not able to see us for 6 weeks and suggested Mission Bay Automotive.I called Mission Bay Automotive and Mike told me that they could get onto it within a few hours if I got it there quickly.After they received it Mike called me and told me that it needed a new starter. No problem, that is what we had suspected. We asked for him to do an oil change and once over as well as we had just received the car.We got a call the next day that everything was done and up and running. The pricing was fair and the work was done quickly. Mike noted that there was oil leaking out of the valve cover (I had forgotten to ask him about that) and that his mechanics torqued down the cover as the bolts were all loose. It is nice to know that I have a new place to take one of our 5 vehicles to and I can trust that all of the work will get done properly by guys who care. I am so greatful for these people! We have several older vehicles that they matenice as well as new ones. They Always take care of us and guide us in the best options financially and safety wise. I feel that they are invested in us emotionally as customers as well provide quality work. Great attention to detail-i have a few loose pieces they keep intact. I cannot say enough great things! Hector and Mike are my guys! They ll steer you clear and won t rip you off like the dealership.

Mike took good care of me and my vehicle, which had a problem with the AC. I took it in for diagnostic testing and was told that a valve that needed replacement and they'd order the part. No charge on diagnosis which was great, and the repair was a reasonable price. Will definitely go back there next time!

Mike the service manager came thru AGAIN while I was out of town for an extended period.Our Honda fit AC compressor went out and he helped my daughter a LOT in my absence by bumping up an appointment slot right before she had to drive to LA in a recent heat wave.This shop always loyal to long-term clients!!

I had an exceptional experience there. Was traveling from phoenix and my car was having issues. MBA was on it on a Saturday and they were all so accommodating. It is obvious they have great integrity and care about their customers. I would highly recommend MBA!

My vehicle had some overdue issues and Hector did a great job providing me with extremely transparent service. I had previously taken it to many "old school" places where they tend to think they know what's best based on their personal experience. This place was different, as they leveraged a wider network to diagnose the issue and then provided me with best course of action based on that. Will definitely recommend and return.

Had my Tahoe worked on several times here and the people was very helpful with the repairs my can needed. The dealer wanted to fix a list of things that I didn't think needed fixed. After bringing my car here they fixed the importance problems and I could come back for the other repairs when I had more time. I wouldn't take my car any place else.

Absolutely amazing! I can not begin to tell you how wonderful Mission Bay Automotive is. (Long story short my boyfriend left me his car.) First, they fixed a CEL light in my that had been on for several months. I originally called to make an appointment to have it fixed, however when it started flashing I called and they were able to see me right away. Hector checked out my car and was in constant communication with me on the status of my car. He finished my car in a timely manner. Second, my car battery died on me on the freeway, and once again they were able to help me right away. Once again, my car was good as new same day. Lastly, I called and asked if they would be able to replace some tires I ordered. They were more than willing and happy to do so. Hector and all of the other employees here are awesome! If you're looking for an autoshop, this is your place! They certainly have my business for any of my automotive needs. You will not be disappointed. : )

I've been going here forever (17 years maybe) and have sent countless other friends their way whenever someone needed a good mechanic. Everyone I sent has always thanked me for the hassle-free and enjoyable time they had at Mission Bay Automotive. I really can't say how expert, thorough, fair, friendly, reliable these guys are. Also, many of the employees have worked there for ages, which says a lot.I have always had Asian cars, but friends I know have taken just about everything else to them and no job is too out there for them. One thing I really like - and have always liked - is that they'll tell you what you should do now, and what can wait and, if you want to know, they'll tell you all about why your car had the problem and what other things fixing the problem (or not fixing the problem) will create later down the road. Preventative maintenance and necessary, these guys are where it's at.
