Andre and his team did an excellent job.How many times we needed a mechanic and we were concerned about the quality of the service and the integrity of the person?I have a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe with more than 102,000 miles on it. The car had a severe oil leaking and I was very concerned about the motor and was prepared for the worst.The preliminary quote to fix the problem was around $2,000 and I was expecting more than that.For my surprise, when the car was ready the repair cost was less than $700.Andre explained that after cleaning all oil leakage around the motor they could save me money not changing unnecessary parts which were functioning okay.That s the integrity we expect from any professional.I drove from Chula Vista to Miramar to have my car fixed and I don t regret it.I will definitely return to Japanese Car Specialist and will recommend their services.Thanks Andre and his team for being honest and not pushing to replace parts we don t need.

I brought my 1990 300ZX to Andre and his awesome crew for a clutch problem I had from a previous shop. Not only was it fixed completely but he also explained to me what the previous shop had done wrong. I should have taken it here in the first place but going forward now my Z is running great and I am very satisfied with the services.

I first came to Japanese Auto Plus in 2019 after my '07 Xterra had to be towed from the side of the 15. I planned to go to a AAA shop, but my tow truck driver recommended these guys and I thought I'd give them a try. Best mechanic I've ever worked with- these guys are honest, fair, and work incredibly hard to get your car working right for a reasonable price.Over the past two years they have done various repairs and tune ups, and in February 2021 my engine finally failed and I was worried my car was headed for the pick-u-part lot. That weekend Andre and the team found a new engine on Friday, drove up to LA and picked it up on Saturday, and installed it on Sunday. By Monday my car was functional again. That is some amazing service!Even if I moved away from San Diego, I would still come back here to get my car worked on. I cannot give these guys enough credit, bring your car here and see for yourself!

We brought our car to Miramar Auto Repair due to performance issues, unsure of the problem. Andr� promptly assisted us in identifying the issue a battery issue. He efficiently replaced the battery, restoring our car to perfect condition. Notably, we didn't need an appointment, making it convenient as we needed our car on that same day. Highly recommend their excellent and speedy service.

The staff at Japanese Auto Plus were friendly, helpful, informative, and went above and beyond to make sure every part of my car was in good shape.I highly recommend going to them for repairs, maintenance, and all other services they provide.I actually bought my car here (salvaged and repaired by Japanese Auto Plus). When I took the car to get inspected by another mechanic shop before purchasing, they said that the car was in fantastic condition despite being salved, and that among mechanics in the area Japanese Auto Plus is known to be highly reputable.When I bought the car they were very kind, clear, and answered all of my questions fully (I probably asked too many questions). They checked up on the car and made sure it was in tip top shape before I left.I will be taking my car here every time it needs a service or check up.

Incompetent. After getting the wrong pads and rotors three times over two days they gave me my car back saying "we don't know what's on your car." I took everything apart myself to find the part number printed on the back of the brake pad and stock rotors. I took my car to a mechanic so I don't have to wrench myself.

Andre & his crew were very welcoming and inviting upon arrival. I had issues opening my hood due to a potential theft and Andre was very polite, kind & helped walking me through the inspection process and gave me a rough estimate beforehand letting know how much everything could be before any work took place. I appreciated the transparency and work was done quick and left me in shock & awe! I was very satisfied with the attention to detail and the quality of work that was performed. I highly recommend giving Andre and his team a chance you will not be disappointed! will continue getting all my future repairs from here on out!- Seth

Finding an honest, trustworthy mechanic is important to my peace of mind and wallet. Fortunately for us, we found Andre and his Japanese Auto Plus. We have an old Toyota and were taking it to a Toyota dealership for its check-ups. During one of these check-ups, the service department presented us with a prospective list of work that would have cost thousands of dollars, enough for us to go get a second opinion. Through a friend we got connected to Japanese Auto Plus and Andre, the owner, talked us through which items were necessary and which were upselling or could be deferred. That bit of honesty of was the first indication that we had discovered a potential keeper in Japanese Auto Plus. It got better. The tire pressure gauge on the dashboard started staying on even after I refilled the tires. I brought the car to Japanese Auto Plus and Andre said the sensors in two of the tires were not working and that it would be cheaper for me to get them replaced at a Costco tire center because he would be more expensive. Another example of doing what's right by the customer, even if at their expense. Lastly and most recently, we started having electrical issues with our brake lights not working and the airbag and brake light warning lights coming on in the dashboard. We brought the car in again and it turned out that the windshield replacement we had done a year earlier by an auto glass company that came to our house was done poorly and water had been leaking behind our glove box and created electrical damage. Japanese Auto Plus got the windshield seal fixed and replaced the damaged relay and other electrical components for a price that was less than what Toyota would have charged just to diagnose the issue. I value not having to question whether I am being taken advantage of and appreciate having a mechanic I can trust and who cares enough to do quality work. More than happy to recommend Andre and his Japanese Auto Plus business.Services: Electrical repair, Tires, Brakes, Brake service & repair, Oil change

I brought my 1999 Honda Prelude into this shop after being turned down by various other mechanics who refused to work on it. Andre and his staff were very courteous and honest about what needed to be fixed on the vehicle. The prices on the repairs are a bit on the higher end but you can trust that these guys can fix your car ASAP. I returned to them about 5 times with the same car and they never failed to get it up and running. Will definitely return in the future and I recommend them to anyone who wants a reliable mechanic.Services: Tire rotations, Engine repair, Brakes, Brake service & repair, Oil change

This place has 5 stars for a reason. Andrei and his team are 100% legit. They will not sell you something you don t need. as well as the quality of work ; the extremely reasonable pricing ; ran by awesomely skilled mechanics and all around awesome human beings , I personally wouldn t choose anywhere else to get my car fixed. This is how I feel about Japanese auto plus and I think you will realize it too if you go here.

I just bought a used Subaru and these guys are known to be Subaru professionals.The manager is really friendly and personable. They are competitive with their pricing and their quality of work is a lot better than a dealership. I took my car here twice and the prices are just right. They have a really good turn around time and will let me know if there is something off about my engine.I trust these guys more than I trust the dealerships. I will definitely be back.

I had a great experience at Japanese Auto Plus! Car repairs make me nervous, but this shop makes the experience painless and their services are very affordable. I set up an appointment for an oil pan replacement and they were able to help me out very quickly. Ron at the front desk is the gem of the office and does a great job answering your questions and keeping you updated. I would recommend this location to anyone, whether it's for repairs or general maintenance. They're a good, honest group of people. Hands down the best auto shop in San Diego!

Breaks!!! Thought I had a bad master cylinder and was quoted $501 parts and labor. Got a text message that I didn t need it, just bleed them and inspected. $130 out the door.Great service I will remember this. Feel like I found honest folks

Had the guys do a tune-up on my Mazda and a couple other small things. Price was fair and the work was excellent! Small communication error between me and the staff, brought my car back in, and they said it should have been included in the estimate and didn't charge me further. Really happy I gave them a chance to fix it, now my car runs better than it has in years!

I took my 2008 Mazdaspeed3 to this shop after it wouldn't start one day. They were able to find the issue that another shop was not able to find and were able to get my car running back to normal. They are a very professional team that knows what they are doing and go above an beyond to fix your vehicle. I appreciate all their continuous communication with me throughout the repair and even after. All of their parts come with a 1 year warranty which is a great piece of mind. Even though this shop is about 35 minutes away from where I live, this will become my go to shop and will definitely recommend them if you have a Japanese car.

These guys are the best. They completed a motor swap for my 1999 Isuzu and did an amazing job. Very flexible, diligent and communicative. Great realizable shop that stands behind their work - My new go-to shop hands down. I highly recommend no matter how simple or complicated the job is, they ll do it right. I just got my Mazda 3 serviced; changed oil/filter, timing cover gasket set, oil separator, crankshaft seal, engine mounts, serpentine belt; All in just 1 day! I even had a rear breaks issue and they fixed it for me without the need to buy new parts and without additional charges. I also have 1 year warranty on the repairs done.I highly recommend Japanese Auto Plus, the stuff is amazing and hard working, Andre the manager is the best. I came into Japanese auto plus on memorial day because I really needed an oil change and my transmission fluid changed. They said that they would get to my car as soon as possible as they had 2 other cars to get taken care of first. As the man at the front counter was asking me some questions about the car he realized that they didn't have the oil filter in stock. So they sent one of their workers out to do a part run just so they could get my oil changed that day! Not only that but while my car was on the stand they noticed my exhaust bracket had gotten knocked loose so they got that mounted in for me as well free of charge. Long story short these people are extremely trust worth and do very honest work. These are the mechanics that are looking out for you and your car!Services: Exhaust, Oil change

Setting up an appointment was extremely quick and efficient. Once I got to my appointment time they were able to take in my car right away!A few months ago, I went to a big quick-lube chain to get my oil changed, and they said my transmission oil was leaking. So, I went to Japanese Auto Plus to get it checked and it turns out there was never a problem! Since there wasn't a problem and nothing had to be fixed for the transmission, the staff had extra time and did a full service auto check for me. They even cleared/fixed my check system light for me. They never tried to upsell me anything and kept me inform throughout the whole process.The customer service was amazing and I'm definitely going back here for all my future car maintenance!

These guys are incredible! I have an older Toyota Van that is very difficult to find parts for, not only were they able to find parts but they also used a great deal of ingenuity to fix things that they could not find the replacement parts for. Best of all they came in under their original quote. They will keep you informed the whole time. These are guys you can trust with your vehicle and your wallet. Will always go back for any future work on the van. Thanks again guys

Great group of mechanics.Came in for a suspension adjustment and alignment for my 2021 Supra. The service was fantastic and professional. The Supra drives much better than it did when I got there.They are also willing to help you understand what the various settings on your alignment mean as well for those who are new to the subject.The price to service ratio is unmatched anywhere.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment

Ron was awesome! I had my employee drop off our company car because he felt some weird stuff and heard weird noises. Ron called me back the same day and gave me an awesome quote on everything we needed done. Best of all is he had it done over the weekend, so we didn t miss a single appointment come Monday. Lastly, we forgot to do an oil change at that time, so Ron took care of that also. Great customer service and super reliable. They got a customer for life over here!

I bought an '09 STI that needed a new clutch so I bought the clutch kit on my own with out doing much research and found out that the majority of mechanics in SD won't install the customers parts. Long story short, these guys installed it for me the day after I called to get an estimate, when others were telling me it was going to take 3-4 weeks! The customer service was great and the price was very inexpensive as well compared to other quotes I got from all around the county. I wouldn't take my subie to anyone but these guys, the quality of work, price, and professionalism was spot on!
