A rarity among auto repair technicians / shops. Paul clearly explained what services he would provide, and what the cost of each service element would be. Additionally, he told me when my car would be ready. In the end, he was a person of his word. If you have a Japanese model automobile, this is the place to go!

The most honest and respectable mechanic I have met here on the west coast! Really explains and do his very best to take care of his clients! From the 1st time I took my work vehicle there I knew this was the guy to bring all my personal vehicles to! Very fair in his pricing and never tried to get you to do something that's not necessary to repair your vehicle! If you need your car looked at or repaired, this is the place that I highly recommend to bring it to! You can't go wrong in this choice!

As a place that provides a service, it won't be perfect as mistakes can happen at anytime but I feel the people at JAT are honest and are good at their jobs. Been going here a few years and I have never felt I was taken advantage of. Prices always felt reasonable and the car always got fixed. A honest mechanic, its all we need right?

3rd time I've taken my old Mustang in. Each time, Young has shown me EXACTLY what was wrong, as well as the most cost effective and safest options for repairs. My husband also takes his car to Young, and has had the same excellent service. We appreciate having such a great mechanic and honest business to turn to whenever car issues happen. Thanks guys!

Love taking my vehicles there! I drive from about an hour away because I truly believe that they do great and honest service never trying to advise you on anything more than what's needed. I wish I could believe in any auto service like that! When I ask to have a service done well before it was needed, Yung told me so. He would perform it if I wanted but advise me on waiting for my next scheduled maintenance which would make more sense of when it would actually be a good time to do so. It's not just about making money but performing a great service when its necessary and or needed! I can appreciate honesty like that!

Paul went out of his way to help me out when my Toyota broke down near his shop.1) He offered to stay late so that I could drop off then pick up my car.2) He offered me a discounted price.3) He explained the issue my car was having and how I can avoid such issues in the future. He showed me the damaged parts in my engine, and we popped the hood and went over all the fixes he made.Paul was honestly the nicest guy and I will certainly use him in the future even though his shop isn't the closest mechanic to my house. He's the kind of mechanic anyone would want a relationship with.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

The owner of this shop (Paul) has been working on my car for loooooong time. He's the most honest and fair mechanic I've ever. I won't buy a used car without his explicit permission! 1000000% recommended

This is the ONLY place I go to get my car checked out! They are honest and always do great work. They will always look up the cheapest cost for the parts. Work is always completed in a timely manner. I've now got my family brining their cars to them too!One time I was there an I overheard them telling someone the things that they needed to fix on their car and I thought, "man they must really need a lot done to fix up their car because they have NEVER lied to me about things needed to be fixed." In fact Young will say, "you should probably at some point fix this.... but it's not essential to be fixed immediately." The times that it has been important he's told me.Bottom line... Young is up front, honest, and doesn't sugar coat/ try to sell you on anything. They get the job done and they get it done well.

Very nice little garage on Miramar road.Very professional with reasonable price.And if they cannot help you they will find a good place for you to go to.For example during my last visit they gave me the name of a very good shop to fix the crack in my windshield.

I only take my cars here, they are fair, good prices, they offer options to keep costs down. Young is great, always willing to help out in unexpected ways, very genuine, service is always top notch and they have always gone above and beyond.

Being the son of a mechanic I know my way around a car. I do most of my own basic service. However when time is constrained or I need more specialized tools, I take my car to these guys. Best part is that these guys are HONEST. I know fair amount about what I should be paying for certain services and I've always been quoted fair estimate that reflects the actual labor times, parts cost, and none of the "BS" of trying to get me to get services I dont need.

He did a big repair, and replacement of original pieces. By Paul (the owner) request all the pieces were bought and brought to him, as he did not wanted to deal with buying the pieces. It was requested to give back the original pieces, however he didn t without previous notification, and when asked about it he stated that he sold them as junk as he thought the payment for the repair was too low. Repairs took way longer as well and then he rushed to be picked up. It seems nice at the beginning but then becomes unprofessional.

I have a 2000 LX470. If you search and read about what a POS the ignition/anti theft lock system that Toy/Lexus developed for a $70k SUV, you will see it's a part, 4 inches long, made of pot metal. It has too endure the force of a twisting key and unlocking the steering pin. The avg. part MTBF is about 190k before it fails -WITHOUT WARNING.They changed the part for '03-on -You're a lucky owner.The Landcruiser/LX470 share the same part. The dealer will want to charge you north of $1600 to get your car back. I called three places before Japanese Auto Tech and caught Mr. Young on his way home. Mr. Young checked out the car and called the dealers for parts. He was shocked to hear the dollars they wanted for the parts AND the wait.I'm pretty good at sourcing and went through E-Bay and an out of state dealer to get parts in 3 days. Mr. Young took my Toyota parts and pieced the ignition and bracket back together. Took 3 days after the parts. The charge? CONSIDERABLY south of $1600 and just north of $400.On the road again for 180k+ more miles. Check out Mr. Young. he's a nice, honest and funny guy.He's got my business for my Lexus and I'm telling my family to try him too.

This man is not knowledgeable at all about cars, I asked to have my tie rods and axles replaced and he insisted my frame was bent and replacing my tie rods and getting an alignment would not fix my problem. I then went to fire stone down the road and they not only replaced what I asked but they permanently fixed my alignment issue as to there was no frame damage. Lack of knowledge when it comes to cars

This place is a joke. I called around noon asking for a price for a new engine for my car a older Asian lady told me she would call me back with a price. I waited till four hours had past and called them back. This time a man answered I told him i was calling about my engine quote. Very rudely he says no you called the wrong place. We don't do engines here. I asked him if this was Japanese Auto Tech? He said yeah but you never called me. I told him I talked to a older Asian lady who said she would call me back. He then said well maybe you called Asian tech or Asian something but not this place.Don't do bussiness with these people trust the 1 star reviews. I'm glad I got poor service before I did any bussiness with them.

Great and honest people - had my car serviced there for 3 years, never any problems, very good pricing, flexible, often free oil changes. Can only highly recommend this team!!

My go to mechanic. Yoon knows his stuff and definitely makes sure you get the best value. He'll make recommendations on parts and whether you really need oem or aftermarket to give you an option to save.

I have been going to this place over my 2 cars. 92 Tercel and 04 newer Nissan. Friendly, knowledgeable, and most important HONEST. if you re looking for a mechanic, you might want to consider this place. I was lucky to find this place among gazzilion mechanics in the area

This is my go to mechanic. Young is knowledgeable and will only tell you to get work done if it's absolutely necessary. I recommend him to all of my friends and family.

The service is really bad, they are very rude and with no patience, especial a guy who is around 40 years old with long hair.I made an appointment with them before I went there, however when I got there, they said they had no time to service me unless I want to wait 4 hours or came tomorrow.Their service is really really bad, I will never come to this place again.

The JAT owner was not trustworthy. Over flatted cost of repairs and over-exaggerate the damages found.

Quoted me for $2200 repair on a piece of unmarked paper, the quote was hand written. The car was then checked out by another mechanic later with no repair needed at all. Need help report to DMV about fraud.

Called to ask a few questions and they were very impatient and rude. Not the most understanding or easy to talk to but that s my experience.
