This place used to be one of my favorites. But unfortunately the last time I was there they really blew it with me. I took them a Mercedes. An E500 that was in absolutely flawless condition and told them to be very careful with the car. This car didn't have so much as a single road chip anywhere. It looked like it rolled off the showroom floor the day before. Anyway I got the car back and the right passenger door had some deep scratches in it. I was literally heart broken. It was the nicest Mercedes I ever owned. Now all scratched up and they never even offered to fix, compensate or help resolve the issue. I was beside myself after that. I would never take another car to them that I like or care about. Because they can not be trusted with something really nice. What a bad experience.

I've developed a good relationship with this family owned and operated business. Quality Customer/Mechanic Service from start to finish. As a mechanically-challenged person, I am confident in the work they do from over 6 years of consistent quality.

Came here due to emergency on my 2002 chevy cavalier. Engine vapors and leaking fluids. The guys here took great care of me and the vehicle. Charged me honest rates. Will go back in the future.

I have been bringing my car and my partner s car to this shop for five years. They consistently deliver great service and reasonable prices and are always quick to call you back and let you know what s going on. I would recommended them highly!2001 BMW 330i2012 Chevy Cruze

Went to Hai's Auto Repair for the first time last week for a stuck hood latch on my 2011 bmw 3-series. They fixed it in a couple days for a fair price and had great customer service. On 1/12/23 I took my vehicle to Hai's Auto because of a suspected suspension issue. I had a major noise coming from the rear end of my car, which was the main reason I brought my car in (rear shocks). The day before, I took it to another mechanic who gave me a better understanding of the problem and I told Hai about their findings. We discussed problems outside of the rear noise that the other mechanic brought up (control arm and front shocks), but I emphasized I just want the rear noise to be fixed. He gave me a quote for the labor and the parts if their findings were accurate, but he wouldn't know exactly what was wrong with the car until he test-drove it and accessed it himself. He said he would test drive it, call me to confirm what was wrong, and proceed with fixing it if I agreed. He said the work was estimated to take 2 days and I said he could keep the car until 1/14/23 if he needed more time. He did not call until 1/13/23 at 5pm to tell me the work was done, although he never called to tell me what work he was doing on it. I went to the shop to pick up my car and was charged $1248.05 and the rear shocks were not fixed. He fixed the control arm and the front shocks, which I did not approve.I brought this to his attention and he agreed that he should have called, but there was nothing he could do at this point because the work was already done.He also proceeded to tell me I had no oil in my car (I got an oil change the day before with the other mechanic) and when I told him that he said that the dipstick is sometimes hard to read. My car does not have a dipstick...This business did unapproved work and gave me no other option than to pay for it. I turned them into the BBB, but never heard anything back

Hai's has been great! I have taken my vehicles there for normal servicing and major work for the last 10yrs. Brian and Angie have always accommodated my schedule when they can and have been fair with cost of labor. Brian and the entire team hear have taken excellent care of my finicky MINI Cooper S that I love so much, helping me at various points with swapping my clutch, radiator fan, fixing oil leaks that could have led to engine failure, and other bits and pieces of things inside my engine bay. I've brought my VW Beetle to Hai's for regular maintenance as well as a couple recent big repairs. Brian always treats me with respect, takes time to explain things, and always phones back when he says he will. Like several of my neighbors, I have been going to Hai's for over a decade and have never been disappointed. We have always said we are confident in driving up .. handing off the keys and saying "call me when she's done"!

This is an honest business. He was unable to help my specific issue, but he spent time explaining what s wrong with my car and what to focus on as far as repair (bc the dealership identified other unrelated issues). Most places I ve visited or called were dismissive, so I really appreciate Hai for caring enough.

Just moved to SD and already found my "go to" spot.Great experience, great customer service. Even noticed how my car was a bit older, and he could fix it one of two ways, the standard way or the "just make it work for cheap" way, I took the latter and couldn't be happier (nothing illegal or unsafe, just to be clear. )Oh, came by another time for a lightbulb change, did it for free!

I had a great experience here. I had to get an oil change done and my squeaky brakes checked out. The team here took my car and gave me a time estimate. I decided to walk around the area while they worked on my car.When I got back, before they started doing the work on the brakes, they showed me what was happening and allowed me to make a very informed decision on how to proceed with my brakes. The fact that they waited to put the wheels back on my vehicle until I came back from walking around to explain to me what was going on is a testament to their commitment to customer service. The pricing is fair, the people are honest, and the timeline they provide is accurate. I will continue to come here.

I had the best experience at Hai s auto repair shop! Not only I absolutely loved how they eliminated my car s bumper dent, I would recommend them to everyone I know!I came to Hai s with a pretty large dent on my bumper. They said they will do a good job on it! I was a little bit skeptical for I talked to a few other motor body companies including the Dent Masters, and all of them were saying that it won t be perfect unless I completely change the bumper that I didn t want to do.So my choice fell on Hai s mechanics and boy was I right!First, it took them not 2 complete days but only a day and a half to do the work!When I came to pick up the car I was simply amazed at the highest quality of the job that they performed! Not only the dent disappeared entirely, they somehow managed to make the decorative line that my Honda bumper has - perfect! It was a masterpiece kind of a job! Unbelievable!Perfection and beyond!I am so so happy to have my car being flawless again! And that is because of the highest quality of Hai s auto repair shop in Hillcrest, San Diego.After this work I trust them completely!A huge thank you to Angie, Brian and to everyone who works at that company!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Body & Trim

Been coming here for almost 3 years and it s always smooth, easy and great service. I trust their integrity and knowledge. Plus they always respect my time. He knows the deal and does quality work. This even got the stamp of approval by my father, and my friend as well. I always feel comfortable and I m happy to bring them my car when necessary

Very courteous and fast service! The price seemed really reasonable and fair, especially compared to other mechanics I have seen in the past. They explained everything to me clearly and did not push additional services on me. My car is old, so they just took care of the immediate issue and discussed the other potential concerns with my car. I like it when mechanics take the time to talk to you so that you understand what is going on with your car. Overall, I had a great experience and will go back the next time I need an auto service. I definitely recommend!!

I have been coming to Hai s Auto Repair for 5 years from now. I could not be more pleased. They ALWAYS take care of my car, efficiently and fairly. I don t write many reviews, but Hai s deserves one. I trust them completely with my car. They always clearly explain what needs to be done and give me optionswhen it is possible. Bottom line: their prices are always fair, the service is great and they are wonderful people.

I had just moved to San Diego, CA from Texas and had to complete all of the requirements to become a resident....get my license, register my vehicle, etc. In order to finish my vehicle registration I had to get a smog test and saw that this place had good reviews. I went and was please with the quick, efficient, and excellent customer service. It was a little busy when I went, but the attendant was honest and gave me an estimated time of completion and was right on time. I will definitely keep them in mind for any future Auto repair needs.

Hai s is the only repair shop in San Diego that I trust wholeheartedly. They are extremely knowledgeable, honest, expedient and reasonably priced. I have taken my cars there for over fifteen years. They ve always done an excellent job no matter if I brought them my BMW, Mercedes or Sable. I recommend them very highly. Unlike other shops Angie, the owner is able diagnose any problem within minutes.

This place is the best. I always take my car to this shop for any repairs, maintenance or issues. They are true and up front about the cost. Most economical and best repair shop. They explain you all the issue and the cost related to it. Trust worthy people and service.

Skilled mechanics who are competent with both newer and older model cars. If they don't have the part they can get it...American, Asian and European. Fair pricing for the work, everything itemized clearly on invoice. Honest quotes, will call you if they find anything unexpected before doing work and try to help you stay in budget. These folks are happy to show you defective part & explain the problem in plain English. Worth my driving across town to keep my vehicles running strong.

What a great automotive shop: full service, including transmission repair, engine overhaul; they do it all, small or big repair. They do oil changes, smog check, brake service, tune ups. They are a one stop shop for anything you need.they are competent-- they do the job right the first time and above all they are honest and priced reasonably. I love this shop. There is a reason why they are highly rated on social media. Try them. You will be hooked. Don't waste your time going anywhere else.

Brian and the team at Hai s are great. I had an electrical issue with my van, many places refused to work on my van because of its age (1990) but Brian happily took on the job and fixed the short I had in my electrical system for a very reasonable price. He was great at communicating with me through the whole process

I have been going to hai for over 25 years now. They are great at repairing my cars. Never had any problems with any of the repairs. They have saved me a lot of money on repairs compared to other shops. Very honest. Fantastic! Paint job looks great! Super fresh looks like it just came from the dealer! And, there were no unexpected "surprises". Any work needed outside the quote was done only with authorization from us. Brian and his Mom was very knowledgeable and helpful. We were treated very well like family and will definitely go back for any other services. I'm a real customer and this is a real review. Dont get it twisted! Thanks again Brian! BEST PLACE IN SAN DIEGO! We ve been going to Hai s since 1992 and they have always served us well! A little Vietnamese mom & pop auto repair place and they have always been fair, very reasonable prices and honest. We lived in the Hillcrest area for years and when we moved further away we tried using other auto repair shops but Hai s has always beat the other places in price and quality. I highly recommend Hai s!!

I've been back several times since I first "discovered" Hai's Auto Repair and I just can't say enough good things about my experiences with Waylon and the boys. Honest and very fairly priced work. As long as I own a Toyota I'll bring it here for service/repairs.
