I have used G.Win for close to 30 years. I have always been happy with the work. Are they the cheapest? Nope. But they have always charged me a reasonable price. Backed up their work? No idea. They have always fixed my car correctly so I have had no need to go back for subsequent work on the same issue. They have treated me well, done a great job with my cars and their prices are very reasonable. What else can you ask for in a repair shop? I am a fan. This is the repair shop everyone wishes they had.

I consistently get good auto repair work done here for very reasonable prices. I have been coming here for about 10 years and they don t try to sell questionable repairs and I almost always approve any work they recommend. When they don t believe they can do a job they tell you they are not the right shop for the work. Oil changes, tune ups, and smog checks are really inexpensive here.

Gwin Auto repair was recommended to me by a friend and I've liked it so much I only go there now. I would trust Austin with my car any day! He is super easy to reach, texted him one morning when my car didn't start and he called me back within minutes. He has made my car looked brand new after two accidents this year, and is simply a great human with a very positive attitude. Fair pricing, honest work, I really wouldn't go anywhere else.

Honest and economic auto repair shop. Oil change for $13 - no-coupon-needed is a deadly deal; I feel they keep this low for oil change, just to attract customers and do more servicing for a car. They may not speak friendly to customers, as they are super busy, but they will be truthful about their work and warranty. Getting a quick appointment is the only issue I have. Getting appointments on weekends is so difficult.

I have visited Gwin 4 times and for me this is the most reliable auto repair place in San Diego. If you visit Gwin, ask for Austin, he is knowledgeable, explains every detail of repairs and suggests genuine solutions.

Austin is very knowledgeable and will let you know exactly what needs to be done or not done. Really Honest!! Hard to find a car repair place like this one. They keep all my vehicles running as it should. Great prices too.

Very accommodating in getting your car serviced as quickly as possible. Friendly crew and pricing is alot better than anywhere else I've taken my car in past 40 years in San Diego.

I usually don't do reviews but,I'm down form the Bay are for work and had an issue with my car. Austin took great care of me took me in no appointment and got me back on the road.Highly recommend using these guys.

Brought a car that I wanted to buy in for an inspection and Austin checked everything out and gave us the real deal assessment. Told us everything that was wrong and helped us avoid a big mistake. Gave us pricing on the spot for repairs and prices seemed really good and competitive. If I lived in the area I would always get my cars fixed by Austin. Super honest, legit, no dealer prices.

The first two times were exceptional Mr. Austin got familiar, the service started getting poor and Mr. Austin swept it under the rug. A brake job seems like nothing ever got replaced when I brought the car back in regards to the brakes Mr. Austin stated he needed to drive the vehicle as a test drive, he proceeded to drive at a high speed down Miramar rd and brake suddenly not only wasting gas but also driving my vehicle in a way I would never drive it. I am sure my brakes were never changed and I was charged $160.Needless to say I was in fact intimidated and knew I was safer not allowing this man to ever work on my vehicle again.Be WARE !!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Hands down one of the nicest and trustworthy mechanic shops in San Diego. The owner ( Austin) will make sure all of your needs are met and you walk out of the shop happy and satisified. Its very tough to find mechanic shops when you move cities, but I am very happy that I found one in San Diego. The prices and the service is exceptional. The smog check is for 19.99$ which is the cheapest in all of Calfornia I believe. I recommend this shop whole heartedly and have no g doubt that you will be satisfied with the price and service they provide you.Service: Transmission

I've used GWin a number of times, and have been quite pleased with each. They quoted a reasonable price- at most half of dealers- and did the work with integrity and competency. They truly care about quality service. I'm an engineer by trade, and can say this with more validity than the average consumer. Been going to Gwin for over 5 years now for all of my emergency repairs, I must say this place is by far the only shop I trust with my car since the level of trust, service, and honest pricing has literally gone over 100% of my expectations.Honestly, it's very hard to trust other shops out there including your own car dealership with honest service and pricing especially when you don't know much about the cost of parts, service, etc... so they see you as vulnerable and will take advantage of charging you more for services or repairs which is sadly real life...(and car parts/services don't come cheap!)BUT! With Gwin I come in and out knowing that my car was taken care of without worrying about anything.Also I've noticed theres a new guy at the front who's name is Austin, since he took over that position the place has become more welcoming. Austin was very professional, competent, and you would know how broad his experience is once you start talking to him including proficiency in customer service. Unlike the previous guy who is Vietnamese that worked there before.. there were a lot of problems with just communicating with him and language barrier, so I did not feel welcome or comfortable being there at all since he looked overwhelmed and stressed out about what he's doing. So thank you so much Austin! I will be recommending as much people as I can to your shop and I'll always swing by for all my future maintenances, you deserve a hefty amount of raise!!!!!!!!!

It is so hard to find an honest service facility and I can easily say that this establishment is one of the most reliable and honest place I've ever been to. Austin the owner of this place is caring and kind and he's got excellent technicians working for him. Now all I got to do is to find an attorney and an accountant that are just as honest as him and I will be set for life.

Called on a Tuesday, set up a same day appointment for a synthetic oil change. $41+tax. Was in and out in 45 minutes. Great service, great price.

While English is not their 1st language which makes it difficult for me to understand at times, I would never take my car anywhere else for service. Exceptional work with remarkably low prices. They don't try to upsell you on work you don't need. Appointments highly recommended.

When I was living in San Diego, I discovered this place much too late. Low-priced oil changes, solid work on my Toyota Pickup. I'm planning to drive to GWin from Riverside to have my pickup repaired since I don't know any other company that I can rely on for solid repairs at such a low price. Highly recommended.

Be careful! They stole my engine oil! I was bringing five bottles of Mobile 1 full synthetic engine oil for oil change. After that, they told me they have used up all of the oil. I told them that I want to get back the empty bottles. They said it's inconvenient to do so. They I directly go to the workshop and find one bottle unopened, another bottle with half remaining. They apologized that they didn't notice that and forgot about these two bottles.

Don t go if you don t know every piece of your car, they ll lie to you and ask you to replace parts which is running as it should and charge you A TON. When ur done, you ll feel no difference(even if you do, prolly they did something else like changing the fluid because the parts they used is so bad that I have to go there twice knowing that I wasn t supposed to go there the first time), who knows what they did with your stock parts that is still running great.

Guys in there really genuine mechanics. Solved my problem in a second. Most importantly they are polite and not overcharge you. Definitely I recommend you to go there if you have your car issues.

I ve been coming here for over a decade, with many cars and trucks! (My parents as well) Great, honest work! They will let you know when something needs to be done, but will not push you into buying extra parts or service. That s hard to find anywhere else !

I'm going to pause and allow myself to take a deep breath before I start writing this post.... Wew, okay here we go.I'm selling my van and I took it into these guys to have a pre-purchase inspection done in order to assure the buyer that the vehicle was in great condition. I had called G Win over the phone to ensure that they would be ready to see the car right when I got there so I wouldn't have to wait too long. I waited 15 minutes just to give them the keys.I ask them "any idea how long it will take to do the inspection?" They said "no longer den hour" I left and went down to Starbucks to grab a coffee to kill time and then get a phone call. "Yo van too big, cannot fit on rift". I say, "but you told me over the phone it would be fine?" They say, "we no not know how big dat van be before bring over". So, I walk ten minutes back.When I arrive, MY VAN IS UP ON A LIFT BEING INSPECTED. I ask, "hey there, it looks like my van can fit on lift right?" They say, "we put up on rift anyway, it be ready in tirty minute". So I walk back to Starbucks to get the coffee that I had walked there to get before. I get on my computer and I do AN HOUR-AND-A-HALF OF WORK before I get yet another marvelous phone call."We cannot inspet yo car because der is ah things n back we cannot work wit". At this point I'm baffled. What can't you work with!!?? You were inspecting my car one hour and forty-five minutes ago!? What possibly changed from then to now and why did it take you so long to call me!? The questions could easily continue from there.I walk ten minutes back to the shop to discover that they had gone into the cargo area in my van and found items related to my business that they weren't fond of. This is when I loose my temper. "This was a mechanical inspection!!!What possible reason could have led you to go into the back of my van and go through my personal items and how does it possibly stop you from doing an inspection and why am I hearing about it three hours after arriving!!??" I ask them. "We need to inspet ho cahhh" they say over and over again.Needless to say, I didn't get the inspection done. I lost three hours of time, and felt more violated than I ever have felt while working with a business. "you went through my personal items? Why?" "We need to inspet cahh, we need to inspet cahh" they say.Maybe this is a language barrier, maybe it's a cultural barrier. But I will certainly never understand it, and it certainly doesn't give them the right to break the law and violate someone's privacy. Wouldn't trust these guys with a used wad of gum, never mind a vehicle of mine ever again.Stay clear and go to someone else!!!

Made an appointment, got there a bit early, and was out in about 30 minutes for an oil change. A lot cheaper than what I was expecting. Will definitely come back.

My Highlander's fan belt broke down while driving on the highway, I took the car to G. Win and they did a great job repairing the car, I have been a customer of theirs for more than ten years, I highly recommend them in the future, They are honest folks and they have good prices.

Very unprofessional place! They get my car key and let me wait ~1 hour for oil change, and then came back told me they can NOT help me today.... I would like to give them 0 star if I can.......

Affordable for 5K maintenances, friendly and welcoming staff. As long as I live in SD I will always go to their auto shop for all my car needs
