Great work, service, communication, and fair prices. I had all services done within a day. Mario kept me updated on the progress of the work. I knew exactly what needed to be done, how much it would cost, and when the service would be completed.Highly recommend this shop.

I highly recommend this place for your repair needs. Being a girl in her 20s it s hard to find a trustworthy place that will just do what is needed without up charging you. I needed to get my brakes replaced and Dwayne was very helpful and gave me the most affordable quote. They even give discounts for AAA members. I will be back when I m needed for another repair!

Griffins is the worst Auto repair place that I ever went to. I took my Mercedes SL 550 there. They said they replaced the auxiliary battery. I paid them in full about $650. They called me after I left and told me they hadn t replaced the battery and to return the following Monday. When I returned I found out they had the wrong auxiliary battery. They don t have a clue. Go there at you own peril. They will never see me again!

Expert and courteous service, even for my decades old imported luxury vehicle. Convenient location close to downtown and LOTS cheaper than dealer pricing. I have relied on them for honest and efficient vehicle maintenance and repair for years.

I came to Griffin's Auto Repair after seeing the good reviews this place had online earlier this month to get a check engine light looked at. The technicians ran their diagnostic and did further troubleshooting and told me what the issue was with the vehicle. We agreed on a price and what steps they were going to take to address the issue.I called them the follow day to get a status of my vehicle and ask a couple questions ofwhat was getting fixed. After asking the questions the guy on the phone rudely replied that he had already explained to me what it was. When I was tried to confirm to him what I understood that was being repaired he did not give any explanation and rudely replied "NO". He proceeded to say that the issue that we discussed was not the problem and wanted to charge me an additional feeto fix the actual issue. I decided not to do that.Later on I discover after driving around that they left their tool and a bolt in the between the space of my windshield and the hood of my car.I am a veteran and was very disappointed with my experience, the repair done and the lack of tool control.

I recently purchased a Classic Car and was looking for a great Mechanic. After a few failures, I found Griffen s. I was looking for a good Mechanic but was also hoping for a well-run professional clean garage. Griffen s gave me the best of both. I have a great Service Manager and a fantastic Automotive Technician / Master Mechanic. I higher recommend Griffen s for any car repair new or old.

I bought a new intake for my Mercedes GLC and unfortunately with the holidays didn't have enough time to do the install myself. I called around to a few shops and Griffin was hands down the most professional and helpful over the phone. They told me to come in the next day for a quick check to make sure they could get everything done, and sure enough they fit me in no problem. They finished earlier than they told me they would and the install was perfectly done. Very happy with the services and absolutely recommend. Professional, friendly, great follow up and no hidden prices as it was exactly what I was quoted.

My 2000 Ford taurus was overheating and they got me in right away. Turns out its behind the timing plate and my belt needs replaced as well. Its not the cheapest but they are all certified mechanics so my total bill was $1840 and they did give me a.ride home and said the car would be done in 24 hours. They were really helpful and super fast. Other mechanics wouldn't have finished in 3 days but I need to drive for work in order to be paid, so having my car done quickly was a HUGE Value for me.You should definitely check them out if you need mechanical work done on your vehicle.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

So I had some issues with my Volvo and I needed a good place to get it checked out. The team here is fantastic. They communicate with you every step of the way, explain what they are going to do and what they are going to take care of. They are fast and very professional.The work that they did for me was several thousands of dollars less than the estimates I got from the Volvo dealer. And to top it off they even corrected items that the dealer could not fix or did wrong in the first placeThanks guys, you have a great crew.

I called to have my car serviced per my dealership recommendation and they were able to work on my car the same day. The staff was amazing and so transparent. I ended up saving $1200 on routine maintenance because of their honesty. I took my 2012 Volvo s60 to Griffin s auto repair shop in San Diego a few weeks ago for a turbo gasket issue based on a referral. They have Volvo specialists on staff that figured out right away what the issues I had with my car were and came up with solutions that fit my budget and worked.They were even able to quickly correct some brake issues made by another shop s technicians that weren t experienced with Volvos where they turned the rotors (which is a no-no) which gave me the feeling as if the brakes would fail in an emergency. Griffin s was well aware of this issues as well as other Volvo issues and fixed it quickly at a reasonable price.They work very fast and even though the shop is located in the downtown area, their labor rates are competitive to others. With all that said, I recommend Griffin s and will continue to use their services for my Volvo

I give them two stars because they told me that the issue with my car was the AC and the compressor so I paid to have it changed and filled. But my AC doesn t get super cold. Aside from that ever since they worked on my car, my horn is completely muffled. I sent them a message, but I got ghosted.

How I found Griffin's Auto: I was turned away from Mazda service department, Firestone auto, and Pep Boys; to have my A/C system fixed. I couldn't believe that I was told they do not chase wires and that they only take on clients with working systems that need a A/C pump or dryer replaced. WTF!A technician at the Mazda dealership recommend Griffin's Auto to me and I found Griffin's Auto online and took my 1988 RX7 to have my A/C fixed.They did an GREAT job trouble shooting the electronics and testing the system. Found the cause in short amount of time (2 days) and started work, only when I allowed it. They communicate regularly and give upfront pricing for parts and work required. I recommend them to anyone who values their older car. The staff and techs are great at their jobs. I'll definitely be coming back again.

Considering the fact that auto repair in usually not the most fun part of owning a car, I am happy to share I had a GREAT experience at Griffin's Auto Repair! I have a '71 beetle that has been cared for by the VW shop in AZ for over 20 years....now that my beetle is in SD, I knew I had to find the right place for her.Not only were they quick (got a same day appointment), amazing service/repairs done (huge improvement on the ride and drive--they are well versed on how sensitive VWs can be), they were mindful of my time (1-day turn around) and budget...ya, that too!And,---Everyone was super nice! I will be bringing my beetle here forever.

I took my 1966 VW Beatle in for what I thought was a main oil seal leak. They diagnosed the car and found that the leak was from the boot seals (less money on the repair)...I also had them adjust the valves and an oil change, the car is running better now since I've own it...best of all their mechanic noticed my turn signals and brake lights were not working properly and diagnosed/repaired my wiring (per my authorization). They were able to do this service the same day... I am not a mechanic, I do recognize genuine professionalism and care for the craft. Had a fuse problem with my 2013 sonata hybrid, and was looking at potentially having to buy the safety plug AND relay because the dealer said they couldn't sell separately (>$1000!!). Well, Griffin's got it done, got the fuse and now it's ready to be picked up! All in just about 24 hrs! AAA verified too, ask for Dwain!

Watch out!They won t honor their warrantyThey always add a back door in like they did with me saying the problem still exists. They told me they put on a new transmission but it was usedWhen it broke again a few months later they held my car for over two months and then refused to work on it or honor the warranty when I finally got upsetThey re extremely rudeMaybe there s a change of ownership here because these other reviews are far from my experienceNotice how so many of the good reviews are from "Local Guide". I'm guessing they're paying for reviews. This place is a scam. Don't take your car here

They said they were going to replace my alternator with a new one and they needed to drop my engine to do it. $2000+ later my car still had issues. It ran, but they missed OBVIOUS problems that ultimately fried the electrical system and almost caught fire. My wires were so hot the insulation melted off them and my battery literally started boiling when driven. They didn t even replace my alternator with a new one!!! Way over priced, not trustworthy at ALL. Had to spend another $2000 to fix it.

Had an engine replacement done here a few weeks ago and i was more than satisfied with the service. I admittedly don t know much about cars. However, had done a little research prior to the service and Griffin s charged me a very appropriate/reasonable price unlike the couple other shops I had inquired who tried to knowingly take advantage and charge me double the price. Not only are they reasonably priced, the staff is very friendly, professional, and communicative. They called me every other day to give me updates on my car. The work that was done was completed in a timely matter and my car is obviously in much better condition. Will be returning.

Needed to replace my dying battery but didn't want to pay a fortune on installation, so I decided to give Griffin's a shot. My verdict: great, friendly service at a very attractive price. They got started on the installation at my appointed time and were done less than 30 minutes later. I am very satisfied with how they treated me and my car, and I will use them again in the future.Service: Battery

I have an older car that s been a little problematic since I ve had it. It s reliable enough, but when it goes out, it goes OUT! I recently moved from WA to San Diego, and my moving gift from my car was the check engine light coming on. I went to three different sites (including Google) and Griffin s was highly rated, and deservedly so. Everyone here is professional, friendly, and very customer service oriented. They were very thorough with the consultation, and explained everything in detail. I m very happy with the work done on my car, and will be taking my vehicle here for all services!

I highly recommend Griffin s Auto Repair shop. I was so happy with their quality work on my MINI Cooper, their timeliness and especially their pricing! I saved 75% by having my car repaired at Griffin s, rather than the MINI Dealership, who quoted me first.After my car sat idle for 4 days at the Dealership, the service manager finally responded to my calls about my car s issue, and then they misdiagnosed the issue and quoted me a fortune to repair it. I am so happy that I shopped around and called Griffin s for a second opinion. I was able to speak with Carlos over the phone and he immediately put my mind at ease by answering my questions and telling me what the game plan and approximate cost would be. They also completed the work within 2 days because they knew I needed my car back so I could get to some important appointments. Carlos is wonderful with customer service he s honest and realistic which I like. They replaced my brakes for a reasonable price. They did it in a timely manner. BHOWEVER. When they checked my fluids, they didn t put the coolant cap all the way back on. They said they would send someone as soon as they get off at 5.. I am still waiting hours later.. And I have to work tomorrow but my car is screwed.. So thanks for that.Service: Auto brake repair

I came to Griffin's because my AC was just blowing hot air, which is obviously the Democratic party's job, so that had to stop ASAP. These guys were great. They didn't pull any of that "we're gonna take care of ya, little lady!" stuff that some mechanics do. They explained things where appropriate and didn't waste my time with stuff I didn't need to know. They were extremely cool about all the weird junk in my car. There's also a really good dog in there. Highly recommend!Service: A/C installation & repair

If you have a SAAB, don't take it to them. I had them do an over-hall of my engine, trans and radiator, and three weeks apart, three times, I had to take it back AND THEY CHARGED ME EACH TIME! However, the third time I found someone else. And the person I found was Swedish Auto, just down the way at the bottom of Washington and they about half a mile South on Pacific Hwy. My car runs like a top now, and it is an early classic from 2002, that I intend to keep my whole life, even if I will be driving an electric. Don't let them experiment on your unusual car.
