I called in the morning, and Angel was able to get me in on the same day. Had my exhaust removed and replaced with an after-market upgrade. The whole process was smooth and painless, very professional, highly recommend coming here for your exhaust needs!

I hadn't realized that Dualtone is right there across the street from In-N-Out Burger in Pacific Beach. There is so much going on at that intersection it's hard to notice some of those places but it's tucked in there and it's a really cool little shop that specializes in wheel alignments and a couple other things. I definitely felt they were very knowledgeable and thorough so I would recommend this place. They have a whole system of computers and people helping and they seem really good at what they do.Service: Wheel alignment

I love my truck (98 tacoma) bought it new and have travelled a lot with it. I have been fighting it pulling to the right since more than 6 mos. ago...since I have a lifetime alignment with Evans, I brought it in there twice and both times they failed to fix it. At my request they checked the front end and gave me a written estimate to replace the inner and outer tie-rod ends $2,004 labor and materials included. My tech advised against it, suggesting an alignment with shims instead. I got an appointment at Duatone for today and sure enough that's all it was, runs great! They also checked front end and found no such work needed! I'm not sure what is more surprisong, finding how crooked some people can be, or how honest others are. Gregg (the manager) explained thigns clearly to me, I plan on returning there in the future, I feel like these guys are honest and they have your back, and I like that feeling!

A very good shop for automobile alignment, brake, & exhaust work. The staff is very knowledgeable and honest. Angel & Enrique were terrific. Highly recommended.

Went in for an alignment and when I picked up the car something was off. Turns out an unrelated part had worn out and the mechanic (Angel) stayed past closing to troubleshoot and resolved the issue free of the charge by the next morning. Angel and the others at the shop were very helpful and friendly.

Two Words: TOP SERVICE!!! We were recommended by a friend and we are so happy we came. Greg is very friendly and offers a wonderful service. They are honest and don t ever try to push unnecessary service. We will absolutely be back and recommend. That s how you do good customer service.

One of the Mufflers on my 4Runner rusted and fell off. They were able to fix the problem the first time I visited them and while I waited. It also was very inexpensive. I also have them work on my 1966 Jaguar.

I use to go to Dualtone all the time years ago, but then I moved away. I'm back in SD now, and a friend of mine recommended, that I see Justin, who I think is an assistant manager. Justin listened to my needs, made suggestions, then special ordered the parts I needed and my car is running amazing. I trust Dualtone with all my brakework, as well as any muffler upgrades or oil changes etc.... Dualtone is awesome! Thanks again guys! My car is running like the beauty she is! See you in the next week or so!!

Paperwork and Receipts states " IT WAS MISSING "As I await for upcoming Court date I think back to this day as I was overcharged and given false and misleading receipts and paperwork as the BAR stated after their investigation was fully complete.Now I was told as I went back to A&P Smog I only needed exhaust leak fixed yet on this day I was told by Dualtone in order to pass California Smog I would need Catalytic Converter " due to it was missingI just updated this post and I m still laughing because I just won in the courts around 8:45 yesterday Dualtone was very much in the wrong but I shall stay humble and trust shops a lil less now

Went in for an alignment only for them to charge me for an alignment and tell me my cars front camber can t be adjusted. Shortly after, started hearing knocking when going over bumps. Just got back from the dealer who said that someone had left a ratchet strap attached to my suspension. Never going to DualTone again.

Best prices around for alignments. Darren really knows his stuff about alignments. Being a mechanic myself I know how difficult it can be to align a car, there s a lot to an alignment to get the appropriate professional results. They do what they offer their customers extremely well. I highly recommend this company, it s a Mom and pop kind of shop with professional result every time. They care about you that s rare this day and age.

Edit: a few months later I went into the dealership and turns out I need a second brake fluid flush - it was never done by Dualtone the first time. Complete lying frauds. Do not go here.Went in to replace brake pads and a brake fluid flush. The brake job seems to fine but afterwards, my cars alignment is massively off. I am on new tires so l'm not sure how a brake pad replacement changes my alignment so drastically. I can only imagine that since I brought my own parts, and the shop kept complaining how much money they were already losing, that my alignment was purposefully set off so I would have to come back for an alignment fix as well. I'm going to have to go in anyways but you can be sure I won't be going to this shop.

Dualtone installed four rotors and brake pads for my Jeep on 5/13/23. Shortly after picking up my Jeep and driving away, I heard a loud banging sound emitting from the rear. I immediately took it back for them to look over. One of the caliper mounting bracket bolts was missing. I was told they will order the new bolt; however, it will take two days.I believe they rushed this job and did not correctly torque the bolts to spec. Therefore, it likely fell off during their test drive. I will update if and when they resolve this issue. But for now, it is one STAR.Update: The bolts came in on Tuesday and they replaced all for in the rear. They also refunded 89.99 for the alignment. They resolved this issue.

I went here with the 2500hd ChevyThey told me I had an exhaust leak and need a muffler and exhaust manifold on the driver side. They told me the total cost would be $2400.I had already done the exhaust manifold on the passenger side so I knew that the part cost $80 and there s 13 bolts holding it in, plenty of room. The mufflers under $300 and found all over google.Which means it s $2000 in labor. I can complete this job and I m not even a mechanic in less than two hours.To make matters even worse the truck did not have an exhaust leak and only needed the computer restarted. I ve driven the truck for over 5000 miles, and there s no problem with the muffler or the exhaust manifold at all.Not only is this place a ridiculous rip off, but they ll tell you need to fix something that s not even broken as well.Good luckService: Exhaust

ABOVE AND BEYOND CUSTOMER SERVICE! It s really difficult to find reliable mechanic shops nowadays but the whole entire team at Dualtone really gave me exceptional service from the moment I called in to up until the day I picked up my car. They really reassured me and even gave my car a test run to make sure my car was running smoothly. I will definitely be coming back here again for my car needs. Nothing but positive attitude from these guys despite the California heat! Thanks for all your hard work guys! Dualtone repaired my tailpipe and muffler which had fallen and was dragging. They were polite and efficient, taking care of my car with minimum wait. Cost was reasonable.

My 2018 dodge caravan car went in for struts & shocks;The job was completed in 3 hours& the cost was $1999.00As best i can figure through internet part supply prices;stuts cost approximately $100. � 2= $200.Shocks cost approximately $75. �4=$300.So that concludes the labor costs to be $1500.usd/3hrs=$500hr.?Wait! The wheels were algined @ $89.95Ouch! >

I was referred to Dualtone by my usual car mechanic for my 2012 Dodge Journey. I spoke with Greg who was incredibly kind and explained everything that needed to be done to my vehicle. I gave the okay for $400 of work, and when I picked her up they didn't end up using one of the parts and my total was about $200. I had a great experience!

I just had new wheels from Discount Tire put on my car and they recommended Dualtone Automotive for wheel alignment. I was greeted and checked in promptly by Marlene who was personable, professional, and friendly. Same with Ryan. The alignment took about 1.5 hrs which was a little longer than quoted, but there is In-and-out burger within walking distance so not a big deal. One downside is the lack of parking available. Cost was very reasonable. I would use them again.Service: Wheel alignment

Excellent experience at Dualtone for an alignment on my Subaru. I've had to do alignments a few times now as I fixed some issues on my car and Dualtone not only had the lowest quote of a dozen or more shops I contacted by far, but also are super nice folks - much, much more than I can say for adjacent alignment-only shops located across the street to the north... Plus, impressively they've been around since 1946. Don't go anywhere else if you need an alignment, but they do quite a bit more as well.

I called Dualtone looking to get the shocks replaced on my motor home. I spoke to the manger Greg on the phone. He was very personable, friendly, and funny and although I was always told to be careful of those type of people, I felt very comfortable leaving my RV in there hands.After I picked up my RV from Dualtone I noticed there was a rattling sound coming from the shocks. I called Greg and he told me to bring it in so they could look at it so I did.When I arrived he kept saying This is why we don t work on these, this is why we didn t want to do it. His comments made me feel very uneasy. Why say all these things after I paid almost 1k for service. Why do the work at all then? Hours went by and I got no call or update from anyone and it was 30 mins before closing.So I called Greg and he told me they checked the shocks and everything was good and that I could pick up my RV after closing. His friendly personality was somewhat gone, he said he had a trying day , and deep down my intuition was telling me that they did not even look at my RV.So I picked up my RV which had the same mileage and the same rattling sound. This was very upsetting. The next day I brought it to another repair shop and turns out one of the shocks were in fact very loose and had to be tightened. Wow! I drove away and guess what no more rattling sound.I tried giving Greg a call to discuss the poor service I received but did not get a call back so here I am letting you all know about my terrible experience at Dualtone. Beware!I ALSO WANT TO ADD!!I also had dualtone inspect my brakes. They charged me $95 because they said the rear axle had to be removed to in order inspect the brakes. I expressed concern about a recent full brake job I had received elsewhere and wanted them to look over it before I left for my travels. I was told by Greg that my brakes were GOOD and that they made a slight adjustment to loosen up my emergency brake connection.Turns out that was not the case. I ended up paying for another inspection somewhere else and they discovered that the axle/rear differential had zero fluid in it, my brakes shoes were put on backwards, and my e brake was adjusted way too tightly.I also forgot to mention that when I left there I noticed my tires looked a little deflated. I checked the tire pressure and all were dangerously low, one of them was down to 8lbs. What the hell! They didn t even check the tire pressure after working on it .Dualtone really put my life and the life of others in jeopardy. I definitely do not recommend this place.

We have been to DualTone several times for a variety of issues for both of our cars, which are on the older side (alignments, worn out struts, car wouldn't start, broken studs, etc). Every time the staff have been capable and professional--but they treat you like family. Though the place may run like a well-oiled machine, you won't feel like a number. Their rates are very reasonable and they'll never try to nickel & dime you. We won't go anywhere else in San Diego.

Came in for alignment on my truck. Since I called ahead I knew it was going to take at least 1 hour for my truck to be serviced so I brought my laptop with me. Lucky for me they have complementary wifi I was able to use their wifi vs my mobile Hotspot to get some work done while I waited.Definitely recommended...not only are they conveniently located by the freeway, they also have the greatest, friendly & honest customer service. Their prices are very reasonable. I found my new go to shop.
