These guys are great. I needed to have headlight and taillight bulbs replaced to pass a vehicle inspection, only to find out I had 11 safety lightbulbs out! They replaced them all quickly ( including having to run to get a part!) They are truly an asset to Golden Hill and a trustworthy bunch.

C & L auto service was amazing!! I had to pull off the freeway with an emergency fix. They not only only were understanding of needing help, but they went over and beyond my expectations. Highly recommend them and I will be coming back. Thank you I appreciate you

I was in the car business, have sent a lot of cars to Carlos(the owner) even before that they re not far from home and have worked on all my cars over the years. You wont find a more honest shop or a better crew of mechanics. He does not over sell (add things your car doesn t really need).

They checked out a noise in my girlfriend s car and were extremely nice, honest, and affordable. Would definitely recommend.

Took my vehicle in for a gas line leak after explaining where I believe it to be and in between the language barrier or just didnt listen barrier. My car was held for 2 days just to be told at 5pm on the second day, no leak was found. I volunteered to come in on the 3rd day to take the mechanic to the gas station to witness the gas line leak. I get there 8:30am on the 3rd day and was rudely told the line leak was found after 5pm on the 2nd day. I did not recieve a call because the person who was working on the car (shop owner) after hours didnt know the name of the person the car belong to. I lost approx $150 to $200 waiting on a diagnosis that came after 2 days charged $110 and was told Im lucky I wasnt charged for them holding my car for 2 nights. What he was able to ascertain real quickly was that I had no oil in my vehicle and that my engine would seize up. Enough said they failed in my book and they lost the $5k that was waiting to be spent on the car had they did what was to be done when you take your car to a mechanic.

I just got a full synthetic oil change $87. I think the price is better than most and it was fast. They seem busy so I m guessing they do good work for reasonable prices.

CARLOS has always been honest with me. His service is excellent and his prices are fair. He even let's you bring your own parts to keep your costs down. I've been going there for 4 years & I won't go anywhere else.

I began to take my car to this shop in 2013 and I have been a loyal client since. The prices are reasonable, the employees are nice, and the service is top quality. I trust Carlos and his crew with my car, and I recommend him.

I've taken my vehicle here twice and after that my mom brought her Lexus SUV in as well. Every time I've been there they were expedient, I received great service and they performed top notch work at a reasonable price. I will definitely be taking my vehicle here from now on.

Car broke down driving over the Coronado bridge, these guys diagnosed and repaired the vehicle economically and with a 2-day turnaround. Excellent!

As a first time customer I trusted the online reviews and went to C & L Auto for an exhaust repair. I did not want to spend a lot of money on a new exhaust as I plan to replace the car this summer. They did a great job for a great price. Very satisfied.

I will never return there again, they were suspicious from the moment they took my car in to check for a smog. Once they were done they said it failed but I knew that was weird to begin with since my car always passes and never had problems. 2 days later I was cleaning the car and noticed they didn't close the hood right so I opened it and noticed on one of my pipes there was a pair of pliers zipped tied together putting pressure on a pipe that requires air to flow through in able to see if my car passed smog. I recommend never to go there these guys don't even respect your car nor are welcoming this isnt the first time since I went to see the pricings one time.

I took my truck in for a smog check. $50 and 15 minutes later I was on my way again. I'll definitely be back, as it was recommended to me as a quick/cheap/good place, and it checked all of those boxes.

I go here anytime I need something. They can fit you in quickly. The service is great. The work is great. A family run business which is always nice. Would recommend to anyone

Excellent, honest and timely service. Initial inspection resulted in estimate to replace ball joints. After lub, the shop found the ball joints in good shape. They notified me and did not replace or charge for unneeded repairs - even though that had been authorized.

Leave my car for a diagnostic 8am4 hours later a rude woman calls me telling me I need to pick up my car.Me: Okay. Well, what s wrong with it? :)Rude woman: The mechanic will tell you when you get here.Me: OK but if you re going to fix it just tell me how much is gonna cost so I can leave it and save myself the drive. :/Passes the phone to the mechanic Mechanic: Yeah there s something wrong with your engine.Me: ... yes... yes I know that s why it s there. What is it? How much to fix? :0Mechanic: Oh I don t know it s an engine problem you know....Me: >:(

New to San Diego and needed to find a spot for oil changes. I went to C&L, but they left my drain plug loose and had to deal with a oil leak and mess under my car. Now I have to pay the dealer to do another oil change a few weeks later, and a clean up fee. Hopefully this is not the normal experience there, but would not recommend.

I regularly come C&L every 2 years for smog, they are the growing few that still smogpre OBD ll, sometimes I pass sometimes I need repairs in order to pass, but in any event, they are very kind, helpful and legitimate.

Needed Smog on 20 yr old car. 15 min wait. Very careful with exterior & interior. Definitely will return for smog or repairs if needed. : )
