They were very friendly on the phone and clear about the time my service would take. We talked about price beforehand as well. They were very accurate with their timing, gave me a rundown on my vehicleafter which was all good. Weren t trying to push any unnecessary services. They made one suggestion. It was a very comfortable and good experience. I would definitely go back for oil change and tire needs.

Hey, these guys know how to get it done. There s one thing in Mechanics that s true they are not all created equally. However, the ones that can get you back on the road and make good repairs along the way is hard to find these days. If I needed someone to give me back on the road at the best price in San Diego I would contact these guys over here at big o tires off garnet. They just know how to get it done.

This is my second experience with Big O Tires on Garnet after experiencing a flat tire. Each time they were so helpful, willing to go above and beyond, and made me feel like the only customer they had to help. Jesus and John were upbeat and excited to be able to solve my problem and they were so efficient and quick which really helped me out. I highly recommend this business to everyone.

I ve gone here a couple times to get work done and had no issues, but recently called about having a water pump replaced. They quoted me a price that I didn t find out until later didn t include the cost of hooking it back up properly and adding the coolant they would have drained. A necessary part of the work. This added up to several hundred dollars more than the price I was quoted. Super misleading and shady. When I called him out the guy didn t say anything. He knew what he was doing.I will never come back here.

Wow, this was a shockingly bad experience. I went in on Sunday 12/10/23 for a flat tire replacement. I dropped my car off at noon and didn't get a call back with the quote until 2 hours later. They told me it would be ready for pick up in 45 minutes, but when I came back an hour and a half later to give them wiggle room, they hadn't even started servicing my car. Here's the worst part: once I arrived, they quickly replaced the tire but were completely negligent and forgot to put back on 3 of the 5 lug nuts, which I didn't realize until a month later when the tire started making a loud rolling noise. I am a young woman looking for honest service, and this mistake could have been very dangerous. When I brought the car back to Big O today (1/23/24) and explained the issue, they agreed to put on the missing lug nuts... in three hours. I'm not sure why my car would be in the back of the queue when this was a completely preventable mistake they made a month ago. They also were not apologetic in the slightest. Seriously, avoid this place!

Great service! I came in for an alignment, the staff helped me get the paperwork I needed for the tire kingdom for the alignment to be honored at big o. They had me come right in and got me out the door within 1-2 hours. They got every tire wheel in the green on the machine and I'm very happy with the whole experience.

Went today because I noticed a leak in my tire last night so I went online, saw a 1pm appt and booked it. Went it today to be told that that time was just to get your car in and not actually an appt time. I didn t expect them to immediately get to my car, but at least prioritize reservations a little bit, but fine. I get it, you don t know how long these things take sometimes. Although it is a tire shop, not an auto repair shop. Anyway, that s not why they are getting the one star. They are getting the one star because they tried charging me 170 dollars to change one tire. I went in thinking I could patch my tire, I couldn t so I had to buy a new one. Fine. It s a run flat so it s expensive. 230. I get that. Tell me why the total was coming out to over 400? Discount tires is doing the same job for 300 per tire and that includes a lifetime warranty. Front desk dude wasn t the nicest either. They definitely don t care about you as a customer

Stopped by Big O Tires without an appointment to see if they could put some air in my tires. They helped me on the spot and were extremely kind. I was out of there in less than 5 minutes. I definitely recommend the shop because of the mechanics alone, and next time I have a tire related issue I will be bringing my car back.

Had an extremely pleasant experience here! The store manager s (Jesus) personality, along with the person who worked on my car (John), was outgoing, kind, and cheerful. They made me feel like they genuinely wanted to help rather than make money. They stayed an extra 40 minutes after closing just to service me, while also making a point to give me a deal just because they wanted to be nice! I m actually looking forward to coming back here. Thanks so much!

HONEST BUSINESS! had a wrench light on my dashboard. Walked in asked them to take a look, my oil change is fine, so I suspected wheel alignment. They were able to take a look at it pretty quickly, came back with a beautiful report ( showed it to me) of no alignment needed. Filled my air and sent me on my way. No Charge Just advised me to make sure my oil change folks hit the reset every time they change my oil. Very happy with the honesty of this crew, thank you to Sean C! I ll be a regular customer now

I just purchased 4 brand new tires from this location after getting a flat, and after asking for an alignment, the guys forgot to complete it until the team was handing me my keys. Come 3 weeks later my two front tires are blown and I m stranded on the side of the freeway hundreds of miles from home. At this point I still intended to go back to Big O to get the repairs done, knowing I d have extra costs for alignment, tire rods and everything else wrong. The manager was very unsympathetic and unwilling to try to cut me any deals given that this issue could have been prevented and ended up costing me hundreds more than necessary in addition to missing more work. I have been a costumer of theirs for 10 years and will NOT be returning after this experience. They do not care about costumer loyalty, so take your business elsewhere.

I never write reviews but felt I needed to for this one to save someone time, stress, and money going here. I really really do not recommend this place. Every time you go, even if for a simple oil change- they will call you with something else they found catastrophically wrong with your car under the guise that they know what s best, with an unwarranted sense of urgency. You will walk out with >1K bill. Guaranteed.

**DO NOT RECOMMEND**Recently got 4 new tires because of a flat. The guy behind the desk said I should replace all of them because they hadn t been replaced in 5 years.Before giving me the keys they told me my front right tire was misaligned and would wear the tire faster. I had just gotten my car back a week prior to the flat from a repair shop for an accident. They supposedly had done the alignment before returning my car and it had a 30 day warranty so I said I ll take it to the other shop and have them fix it for free, under the warranty.Upon taking it back, the front right tire was not out of alignment (but the front left was a little off so they fixed that) and it would seem BIG O TIRES was trying to scam me out of $300-500 dollars. They had a print out at everything.I m not sure if it s because of the value of my car they thought they could squeeze extra cash out but now they ve lost my business forever.Also, they gave me a quote out the door of $2300. When they rang me up, the total was $2500+.

SHAWN WAS SO RUDE. He told me I needed a new tire when the nail in my tire was on the top of the tire. It was not on the side of the tire so I knew I didn t need a new tire. He noticed my friend and I were a young girls and tried to scam us in getting a whole new tire. I m visiting from NJ so I called my dad who is a mechanic and he said it s fixable as well when I FaceTimed him. Then when I went back in to confront SHAWN he flipped out and kicked me out of the shop and told me to go somewhere else. He was mad because I called him out. So rude and unprofessional. Thank you to tire discount for just patching it up for me and not getting a new tire.

1106 Garnet Big O is my local shop and have been going there for years. The service manager and guys (most recent John A) are not pushy, competent and friendly. I needed a lot of work done recently and although it was painful to my pocket book these guys went above and beyond to work with me to get my ride running proper again. I think it pays to have integrity and mechanics that don t cut corners. I ll be back again for sure!

*I would NOT recommend going there*Tire was loosing air because of a nail, was looking for a patch job. They looked at it and said they re gonna do it for 50.After 1h I was told I can only buy new tires for 1700$ since it can t be fixed (or 1 new tire for 350$). When I also asked about an oil change it was more than 120$ because supposedly of some technical challenge at my car.Ended up getting a 3 min patch job somewhere else for 10$ (!!!), tire is perfect now and also not worn down.Also oil change somewhere else for 75$ with same quality oil, mechanics told me it s easy going and there were no technical issues for an oil change, done within minutes.

I was on Garnet Ave. when I realized I had a flat tire. Big O was right down the street so I gave them a call and the owner, David Garmo, was courteous enough to come down and check my tire out. He said that I needed a spare and assisted me with getting the lug-nuts off. He went back to his shop to get a tool we needed to loosen the lug-nuts and helped me put the spare on in a timely manner all out of his own kindness which I was very appreciative of. Highly recommend going to his shop for your vehicle's needs. David's customer service is amazing...

The special prices on their website are fake.I went to the Big O website. I input this location (on Garnett), I looked at the specials. There was a $44.95 happy car special. I called this location, they confirmed the special but said it might be $10-$15 extra for synthetic oil (special is for synthetic blend). I said ok. I rearranged my schedule to bring it in. When I got there they said the special didn t apply to their store, even though the website said it did and I was told it did in the phone. The actual price? A little more than $100. I left.I will never, ever go back.In their defense, the guy I talked to was reasonable. He explained that he could only do what the computer lets him do, which is probably true. But if you are going for the advertised deal don t bother, the specials are just tricks to get you in the door.

Great service. Took my car in to replace my tires and had hoped they could fix my AC, while they were fixing my AC, they noticed my engine mount had been messed up. I bought this car used almost 10 years ago and it s always idled really hard. I ve taken it to multiple places to get it looked at and no one ever bothered to check the engine mounts. When my car was going to take longer than a few hours to fix, they called not once, but TWICE to confirm with me that it would take more than one day to fix. I really appreciate the fact that they would make sure that I was properly notified that I wouldn t have my car. I m also glad they d take such a close look at my car and treat it well.

I had a flat tire with a nail in it and they said that not only could they not repair my tire, but they had to replace every tire in my car, trying to make me buy 4 new tires for my car. Took my car to another place the next day and they easily replaced the tire free of charge. This place has tried to scam me twice because I am a young woman and I guess they thought I wouldn t do research on my options. Don t go here unless you want to get ripped off.

Customer service here was terrible. I'm from Colorado and maybe people are just nicer there, but I came in asking for a specific service and the guy told me it wasn't necessary and that the factory didn't recommend it for another 10000 miles, which was wrong. I did my research and I knew what I wanted, and I don't know if the dude was hungover or lazy but he apparently didn't want my business.

I wanted to really work with this place as I have 4 project cars but after mounting 2 basic Toyota tires at a cost of $94 I cannot recommend this place. on top of that they wanted $400 to replace the tire tpms sensors in each tire of a 2007 Camry which is laughable. A quick search shows 4 pre-programmed units for less than $70. even oem units are half that price. Be careful out there. Discount tire is where you want to go if you are local to pacific beach.

Dropped my car off for a routine simple service at 10am on a weekday that should only take about 2 hours max. My car was not ready until 5:15pm...There was no issues with the service that would explain why it took so long. This place is way too busy for how many lifts they have and poorly queues up cars. I suspect they just kept putting cars in front of me with more profitable work. Go somewhere else that will respect your time. I was also told on the phone before dropping off my car that the service would take less than 3 hours.
