Brett at American Muffler is amazing. A true professional and reliable company. Had to have some welding done on a Ford Focus exahust system - part not available. Brett said bring it in let me look. Same day it was welded, fixed, running great and off we go. And on top of it you cannot find a nicer person to deal with. Just trust him, believe me you won't be sorry.

Brought my 2006 bmw m6 in to get valved mufflers and an x pipe installed. Mr. Richardson was super helpful, explained the entire process when I picked up the car, and the exhaust looks phenomenal! I needed the car quiet to keep everyone in my neighborhood happy lol. Don't have any pictures or a before and after video yet on the sound, but I'm stoked to bring the car back to take some once my mechanic helps me install the vacuum system for the valves. (It's going to sound glorious with the valves open)

8 years ago I brought my 2nd Mustang here to get cat-backs put on. Cost me $100 (I already had the parts). When I got a new GT, I decided to revisit this shop as they were amazing and affordable last time. Guess what? STILL cost me only $100 to get the job done. Tipped $20 because these guys are so great. I live in California now, but this shop has my loyalty. Don't second guess this place. If you need your exhaust fixed COME HERE!

I have been coming here since 2006 with my first mustang, a 98 GT. Took my 2014 GT here and most recently had work done on my 14 GT500.I came in with a Magnaflow competition exhaust that had no mufflers and needed to be toned down and eliminate it's rasp.American muffler did a very clean install on a pair of 12" Vibrant resonators with new piping.I increased the diameter to 3". Everything came out very well and turnaround time was good.I have a pet peeve with exhaust tips in bumper valences not being even or straight. The car had them nice and even on each side when I picked it up.This guy is good and cares about the quality.

Very thorough detail in diagnosis and skilfully craftsmanship. I had a nasty catalytic converter issue on a Land Rover and this place help me out to figure out an effective, financially speaking, to resolve my issues. Way to go American Muffler!!!

Brett just spent the last 30 minutes on the phone with me walking me through every aspect of my potentially bad Cat. He gave me every option known to him and patiently answered every question. I highly recommend him for anyone (especially a woman calling a garage) looking for an honest mechanic.

Went down today and had them put on a flowmaster on my F-150. Andy and Bret were great to work with and I will be going back for more work when the time comes. Came in under their quote and took roughly an hour!!! Great experience guys, thank you!!

I had a great experience with this shop. Brett found the issue with my exhaust system almost immediately. He swapped out two catalytic converters on my truck and did an excellent job on the welds and cuts.I enjoyed doing business with this place and will definitely be back for any future work.

Excellent shop. I mangled the exhaust on my Jeep Cherokee off road and the shop put it up on the rack had a plan and a price in 5 minutes for me. 20 Minutes later the Jeep was off the rack and done. Excellent work and easy to work with. They didn't even try to sell me all new parts they knew I wanted to repair what I had and accomdated me, and the price was fair.Would recommend this shop to ANYONE that needs exhaust work.

Called about a Cat Conv back in June, but couldn't get it until last week, and he still had all my info on hand after 4 months! Ordered the part, had it next day, and installed 2 days later with no problems. Very professional and fast. Very happy and satisfied.

I went to American Muffler looking to get my borla axle-back installed at a fair price. Brett gave me a range of how much I should expect to pay. He came through with the install in less time and I paid less than what Meineke quoted me.Also came back a week later to replace my stock resonator with a Vibrant Performance resonator. Quick install time and good price.If you are looking to get any type of exhaust work done, I suggest going to a specialized shop such as American Muffler and they will take care of you.

I bought an old Ford van w/the tail pipe from the muffler back missing. Andy made me a custom pipe and added hangers that were missing or rusted away. In & out in 40 minutes at a very fair price. This place is worth driving out of your way as they treat you so much better than the big chains.

I highly recommend American Muffler! I called and they took great care of my car the same day for much less than any other repair shop would have. They did the job right the first time, saved me money and I felt confident with their professional and capable staff.

Whoever wrote the bad review, it is upon you to request a full written estimate sheet. That is all on you. American Muffler is a great shop. I drove in there unannounced and the owner took a look at my exhaust right away. He gave his opinion, and asked for me to return the next day. I did so, and my car was way better than when I came in. He even took care of a few other exhaust issues that he found without charging me a dime! The owner is very nice, and very polite.

Dont know if the person that left the bad review actually went to American Muffler. I had a flowmaster exhaust installed on my truck today and this shop was awesome. The guy running the shop was one of the friendliest people i have ever met and i would recommend American Muffler to anyone! He definitely hooked me up and had me on my way fast. I WILL be a repeat customer here

I noticed all positive reviews for this place, so I called to get a feeler if they thought they could assist me with some custom fabricating for my exhaust on my 99 Camaro SS. Another shop advised me that it was a tough request that was near impossible to do without charging an arm and a leg. In my opinion, I think it was a challenging job for an experienced tech, but American Muffler proved that it could be done without all the other hacking-apart and adding unnecessary pieces. I won't say what the name of the other shop is, but it is a few miles away and has a crap-ton of positive reviews praising them like they walk on water.I've had exhaust work done at many shops throughout California and I always ask around as I'm looking for the best welders/fabricators that I end up coming back to for other types of weld work (subframe connectors, lower control arm relocation brackets, etc), so I know a good tradesman when I see them. Customer Service, attention to detail, honesty and price are also all important factors which this shop did impress me with (and in a very straight forward and no-frills kind of way), but quality of work is my number one concern. American Muffler did fantastic work on my exhaust. I watched as they made custom bends, "impossible" welds and basically fabricated an exhaust setup that was so clean, I'm going to call it show quality. Some day when I get a minute, I'll try to post up some pictures of the welds this guy did.This shop is in one of those parking lots with a couple of other hole-in-the-wall type of repair shops. I mention this because my only concern is the shop is too small to accommodate the volume of work these guys should probably be getting if everyone in San Diego caught on to American Muffler. The waiting area is not the greatest, you're not going to see expensive epoxy coated floors or a cappuccino machine. You will find an expert tradesman at a competitive price. I'll admit, I was so impressed that I tipped the guy.Before American Muffler, there was a shop a good distance away in North County that I always went to that also does phenomenal work, but I think I'll be going to American Muffler from now on.I highly recommend this place.

Told me I needed to get my engine miss problem squared away before it made sense digging into the exhaust system. What workshop tells you the truth, risking the sale?They've gotten my business the last five years since the word of mouth referral led me to them.

Had my resonator removed on my Trailblazer, Excellent fit and finish at a great price. If you are thinking about any exhaust modification or repairs I would highly recommend American Muffler :)

I have taken my car, my rally car, my auto cross car, my dads truck, my moms car, and my gfs car to this shop and I have always had amazing service for an amazing price. It doesnt matter how stock or how modified your car is, they can help you out.

Had to get a catalytic converter put on my car that I couldn't do myself. They gave a fair price and got it done very quickly, very friendly people!

I was quoted $150 to replace a very small section of the exhaust pipe. Went to Andy's Muffler Shop and he quoted and charged me $80 for the same work and did a very good job.
