I highly recommend Advantec Auto Repair. I have gone to them for several years now and have always had great service! After a recent brake service, my hand control device malfunctioned. The owner, Bob, has such high integrity that he paid for a replacement of my device at a high cost to his shop. If you want an honest, customer service oriented mechanic, look no further.

Used this place when I lived in SD. One of those special businesses you which you could relocate with you to your new town when you move.The owners are completely genuine and honest. Always happy to explain issues or give advice. Even once fixed a small problem for me without charging.Can not go wrong with these guys.

Bob, and his crew have been around for some years, and came highly recommended from friends. They got my truck back up and running. I bought it used, and it blew a head gasket. Sat for quite sometime, as i did my fair amount of research on how to go about restoring it. Called around, and some shops just flat wouldn t even entertain the idea. Bob worked with me, and went above on beyond to get my truck on the road. This shop went the extra mile, with certified parts straight from Toyota, and even threw in a new battery at no extra charge. There were some other components that i had bought, and Bob did not charge me extra. I wasn t just searching for the right mechanic, i was also searching for a shop that i could trust, and recommend. I found that at Advantec Auto Repair, with Bob, and his crew. They will definitely have my loyalty.

It pains me to write this review because the guys are really nice but here s the saga I went through:Months ago I went to get my car looked at here, they said it was my spark plugs. Months later my car is all jerky and wonky again so I bring it back in they look at it and say, Your CVT transmission is the problem but idk where you ll even get one of those for a good price right now you re better off just letting go of the car and getting a new one because the CVT transmissions are so bad. They give me my car back, didn t charge a diagnostic fee which was nice I guess, and then send me on my way.I bring my car into the Jeep dealership (I ve got a Patriot) today and they say the problem is my spark plugs and that I ve got aftermarket, faulty spark plugs in there.So Advantec either 1) installed bad spark plugs that don t work with my car, 2) Didn t even look at my car the last time I brought it in (because spark plugs should be an easy problem to diagnose), or 3) They looked, saw it was their own fault spark plugs they put in and then lied and blamed it on the transmission and told me I should buy a new car.Like I said, nice guys but none of this is cool.

I had some concerns about my car and was nervous to take it in. The guys were really nice and did a full inspection. Will definitely be coming back for any future issues

I feel so lucky that I found this place! I've been bringing my car here for the past 2 years and have had nothing but great experiences. They are fast and friendly, the prices are reasonable, and I do not feel like I am being taken advantage of. They also provide recommendations on what might need to be done and when -- also with 0 pressure which I very much appreciate.

They checked my daughter's car as she was concerned about the brakes. When I asked how much it would be, Bob said No Charge. I have been here multiple times and always receive excellent service. I also really appreciate that honesty.

I dont take my vehicles anywhere else. I buy and sell cars like sneakers and I always have Bob go over anything I buy and let me know what I should do. They're so honest one time I took a "new" car there and they said it was absolutely fine and didn't charge me a penny. Any work that is reccomended is the best price for the quality of work in San Diego hands down.I wish all auto repair shops were as awesome and honest as advantec and I refuse to take my cars anywhere else until I at least get an estimate here. 10/5

I recently popped into this shop for a quick repair and was happy I did. They were quick, knowledgeable, and reasonable with price. I d recommend setting an appointment and swinging through this shop for a repair if needed.

This is such a great shop. I've even recently moved to Encinitas and still go out of my way to take my car here anytime I need oil changes or repairs. They always tell it to me straight, let me know when things may need addressed but never any pressure to "fix it now" and do quality work. No need to look further than this shop for any of your car needs (for reference, I own a 2011 Jeep wrangler Sport). Keep up the awesome work!

This has been my go-to place for over a year now. Prices are always super fair and the guys are so friendly. I ve recommended them to a few of my friends and 2 are now also regular customers. Honest and reliable! Auto shops are notorious for lying and trying to charge you for things you don t need. We ve been coming to advantec for the past year, and they ve always been upfront about the situation. They do a great job and don t charge you for what you don t need. Recently they told me that the issue with my car is likely covered under my car dealer s warranty, and that I should go there instead of paying $600 at advantec. I called my dealer, and it turns out this was true. I saved $600, and Advantec earned my loyalty and trust seriously, who does that?! Highly recommend!

This place is awesome to put it plainly! I brought my car in to do some touch up work before a long car trip and I told them I only wanted the essentials done. They quoted me a very reasonable price and didn t try to scam me into unnecessary services.Communication was clear and all the work was done quickly so that I was able to pick up my car by the end of the day. Their kindness and consideration for their customers is what really makes them stand out. Highly recommend!

First, let me say this review is long overdue. We brought in our Acura for an oil leak issue. I work on my own cars whenever I can. I am very familiar with Acuras. I was prepared to spend a lot of money to get that fixed. Luckily these guys are the most honest shop I ve ever been to. It ended up being the drain plug, which was much cheaper. We will be using Advantec for all of our service needs in the future. They are super honest and have good prices!Thanks Bob!Service: Auto maintenance

Have been a customer for a few years so this review is overdue. Honestly still feel so lucky to have found such a great auto shop that happens to be walking distance from my house. It's super refreshing for staff to be so nice & not degrading when speaking to me about my car when I'm a woman. Have been going back for tire alignments and small issues, and will continue to do so.Work is always really straightforward and really quick, not to mention pricing is super affordable. Latest repair was on a rear power window not rolling up or down, happened to be a small broken part that required them opening the door console, yet turnaround time was less than 3 hours. Shoutout to Rafael at the counter for his patience despite me picking up my car at 4pm on a Friday!Service: General repairs

Thank you, Advantec Auto Repair for great and fantastic oil leakage replacement work on my car last month. My communication was with, Ray and Bob they were very nice, professional & customers focus. They gave me time my car was going to be fixed and it was done on time. I feel I have to leave review because it was reviewed that brought me here after I ve gone to several mechanics shop where they lack knowledge and insight. Raphael and Anthony went above and beyond to help us out when we were in a pinch. They took extra care and time to make sure that our car was safe and ready to go and didn t charge us a penny. I highly recommend them as an honest car repair shop! Fantastic job thank you so much!

Honestly I moved to San Diego and I did not know any mechanics around or had any recommendations. I searched and finally found them. They had made a discount twice for me and after some research the first time i took my car to them I realized that their prices are affordable and fair. They have been great and have taken my car in even when they have been very busy. I am happy to say that I will be their customer for as long as I am here. The guys who run Advantec, Keith and Bob, are incredibly honest, knowledgeable, thorough, and super kind. They brought my Honda Civic back from certain death - seriously, my engine needed extensive repair. They went above and beyond to get my poor car working again and I can't thank them enough for all the hard work their team put in. I've since sent multiple friends and family their way and everyone I've sent over has loved working with them as well. I trust them to tell me exactly what's wrong, explain it so I can understand, and what is needed to fix it. They are very fair and honest in their pricing. I dropped my vehicle off here in December for repairs to the oil cooler gaskets. When I arrived, I was promptly greeted by the staff. Within half an hour, they had done an inspection of my vehicle, given me a quote, and I was out the door with a completion date that fit my needs. I received a call the day the repairs were completed, but I was out of town and unable to pick up my vehicle. No problem; they held onto it for me until I could stop by. When I did, I was briefed in detail on all of the work performed, and received my bill for the price originally quoted. I ve had no issues with the work they did and their work is backed by warranty. These guys are trustworthy professionals and I ll be back if I have any other automotive issues.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

These guys are awesome! Called at 8am. Dropped my car off at 10am for a diagnosis. Ray called within an hour with what needed immediate attention & what could wait. Decided to do it all because the price was so reasonable. Had my car working perfectly by 4pm same day!! Highly recommended!! Stellar work at good prices done in a reasonable about of time & super friendly customer service...what else do you need?!

Keith and his team are amazing and very personable. I have already recommend one of my coworkers to the shop and we were equally impressed by their services. I came in with quite the fix (ABS pump replacement) and I could not have found a quote lower. This team is reliable and honest. I would recommend to anyone in the San Diego Area!
