These guys are awesome! My truck broke down off the exit on pico, and these guys helped me out, 3 guys ran out and helped me push my truck safely on the street! If they are this helpful doing things not expected or required of them, then I could imagine their character and work ethic! Definitely recommend! Tyler is awesome and his crew!

Went to Valvoline on 8/6/23 to get oil changed left with a stripped drain plug leaking oil all over driveway because service writer got different part number for drain plug so threads didn't match up.. when asked if they tried to install the wrong plug service writer told me no they just mixed up part numbers had to return the same day before I even noticed the leak because they gave me a sticker that stated my next oil change was a million miles out. The manager apologized and said that the service writer had a rough day. Now today I'm noticing oil in the driveway go back over invoice to see if I could get names of employees and notice they documented that I have weak or damaged drain plug threads... Absolutely not happy about the situatio, will update how this is resolved..... Also they did my last oil change without a problem, hope they can resolve asap

Brought both of my cars here recently. Oil change is fast and transparent. Love the big screens laying out the pricing. Customer service is excellent! Every employee has a smile on their face and they seem to have a very diverse group of employees including 2 women that I saw. Way to go Valvoline. Really happy with my experience.

Super nice employees and I love that you just stay in the car and they work from a lower area. Also love that they do a check on the whole car. Definitely coming here in the future

WOW! I m so impressed with the quick yet detailed service. In and out in 15 minutes, the staff preforming work on my vehicle were wonderful, and the explanation given for services performed great. I highly recommend anyone needing service for their vehicle giving them a try first. I know I ll be coming back here.

Quick and friendly service. They are usually professional and seem to know what they are doing. Prices are reasonable but feel a lot higher than they were a couple of years ago. A basic oil change will cost between $75-$100 without any coupons. Make sure to check online for coupons before you show up. You can often find a 20%, 15%, 10%, 5% off coupon. If there are a couple of vehicles ahead of you, you may find yourself waiting 20-30 minutes..

I got my oil changed at a different location the night before our trip out of town. Unfortunately they didn t adhere my skid plate correctly and as soon as we hit the road the next morning it started making a lot of flapping nose. We stopped off at the San Clamente location to have them address the issue. Van was very friendly and quick to address our issue. He got everything fixed up and had us in and out in 15 mins and back on the road to enjoy our trip. We were very pleased that it was an easy fix and didn t inconvenience our experience too much. Thank you Van!Service: Oil change

Ten minutes on the phone, ten minutes waiting in the lobby. Had to listen to two different ads on the phone, and be asked to download your proprietary app. I still have no idea how much an oil change is. I'm leaving. This is an untrustworthy business.

I don't know what the Hussle is at this location but I just left because it was so weird. I went in to get My second oil change in my vehicle. The sticker is in the top corner window. They went to scan my VIN off my driver side door and then asked me for my registration and insurance. I thought that was very odd so I asked him why he needed that and he said it wasn't coming up in the system. I said I've had this vehicle here and you just scanned the VIN number. Even with that information he said he still needed to see my registration insurance. I don't know if it's a scam just to get an address or what the story is but when he asked it for the second time I told him I don't feel comfortable and I just left. I went to another Valvoline down in Dana point they scan my vehicle at the door and never asked any questions... maybe skip the San Clemente one and go to the one in Dana point.

Quick in and out oil change. The prices were a little high but that is expected with Valvoline products, you get what you pay for. I did call prior to going and they emailed me a $10 off coupon. They did they whole your car needs this and your car needs that spill but it felt more like they were just trying to keep me informed as opposed to them trying to make money, they weren t pushy with it at all. From what I could tell it seemed like they had a checks and balances system in place to ensure the oil and filter were actually being changed, even showed me the dipstick indicating it was full after. They marked the oil filter and had multiple people checking the process. If they didn t change it or scammed my someway, which I have had happen at Firestone, they were dang good at hiding it haha.

I ve come here twice for an oil change and the service was great both times. You are in and out in no time because they are able to do up to 4 cars at a time. The mechanics are very friendly and informative. They make sure all electrical wiring is good by checking all lights and switches in and around the car and if something is wrong they will let you know what it is. You then have the option to get it replaced on the spot or you can just DIY after you find whatever the problem is. The price is also good. I paid about $40 each visit. This is my go-to oil change.

Charge you for a new oil filter and claim it was changed however your old 'self marked and dated' oil filter will still be there after your service. Avoid this spotService: Oil changeService: Oil change

I recently had unfortunate incident occur during my last oil change that resulted in the manager providing an ABOVE AND BEYOND EXCELLENT customer service experience. The manager Charles is a true professional and was able to accommodate all my needs. I am a demanding individual and Charles came through in the clutch! I will always bring my business to this San Clemente Valvoline Instant Oil Change location knowing I am in good hands. Thanks Charles for making it right!

If you have a beamer or European car, do NOT get your oil change here. Besides getting the cheap oil your car does NOT need, they usually strip the oil plug threads and replace it with a plastic plug...This location has offered to dix the issue at mo charge. I am very satisfied with this managers response and offer to remedy the situation.

As a woman, I will admit I am on the passive side when it comes to care for my car. Car talk is like a foreign language to me and I often find car maintenance intimating. With that being said, my father taught me to have 2 hard and fast rules:1. Listen closely for weird noises.2. Change the oil every 3k miles. Those rules bring me to this shop pretty often and I love this place for the following reasons:1. There is almost never a wait and it only takes me 15 mins.2. I am always greeted politely and with a genuine smile.3. I trust the quality of the products Valvoline offers.4. I get to stay in my car when its all being done.5. I never EVER feel intimidated or victimized by a sales pitch. My car is going on 12 years old now and sometimes they find something amiss varying from no big deal to quite concerning but will give me the choice whether to add services on or take the risk. I love that they don't try to intimidate me with car-speak jargon I won't understand and I really appreciate the information given (in laymen's terms to help me understand) with no pressure or strings attached... I usually take their advice anyway but its nice to feel like they put the decision back in my hands, not hold my car hostage until I comply like I've experienced at other shops. All of these reasons keep me coming back.Although the staff changes, the manager Rich has been the ever present anchor that I have come to appreciate over the years. He is kind, courteous, genuine and really knows what he's talking about. He always remembers my name and welcomes me back with a smile. He seems like he loves his job and is a great leader for the store. If you want a great quality shop, work you can trust and excellent customer service, stop by and let Rich and his staff take care of you!

Shawn, Cory and Jose were very polite and professional when they conducted the oil change to my vehicle. Shawn was very informative and told me about my car s future needs. He was definitely not an aggressive, pushy employee trying to make an upsell, as other places do to get un-necessary things done to my car. Cory was very clear and concise when he explained to me a few functions they performed on my vehicle. Jose also was part of this team that completed my positive experience at this location. I will definitely tell my friends about this place and bring my car in when service is needed.

Being a former mechanic, and knowing the poor reputation of many "quick oil change" shops, I would never take my own vehicles to any instant oil change garage. This facility is no exception. Valvoline Instant Oil Change definitely earns the bad review I'm about to give.My friend, a woman who admittedly knows nothing about cars, has always spoken well about this business. She told me she had always brought her cars here for service; and, she said they were "really nice."Still, I told her that I would personally change her oil when I got back from my business trip; but, the glaring "Change Oil" message on her dashboard had her worried. She panicked and took her car to the "really nice" people at Valvoline Instant Oil Change on Pico. When I returned from my trip, she reluctantly told me that she had taken her car to the instant oil change place. She was concerned because the "really nice" people had told her that among a printed list of other things they had supposedly done, they had topped off her windshield wiper fluid reservoir. Her concern was that when she pressed the wiper button, no fluid came out. So I tried it myself. I could hear the pump motor whining, but it appeared to be void of fluid. My first concern was that if the "really nice" people at Valvoline Instant Oil Change told her that they had topped off her wiper fluid, and they hadn't, what else hadn't they done that they promised they had?My second concern was getting her some wiper fluid. So, I stopped by an auto parts store, purchased a gallon of wiper fluid, popped the hood, filled up her car's reservoir, closed the hood, and then tested the system. Still nothing... No fluid came out, despite the sound of a working pump motor. My third concern now was what kind of damage had the "really nice" people at Valvoline Instant Oil Change caused to my friend's car. I popped the hood again, and I started to look for any disconnected hoses. I found two disconnected hoses, both hard to get to, and both tucked away against the firewall. WTF! These hoses could not have been disconnected by accident, unless there was a level of incompetence beyond imagination in play here. To me, these hoses looked like they had intentionally been pulled and hidden away... possibly a ploy to force my friend to bring her car back to the "really nice" crooks at Valvoline Instant Oil Change.I was so enraged that I was ready to drive down to Valvoline Instant Oil Change and demand that they perform the complete service, that they claimed took place, over again in my presence under my watching eye... but they were closed. After fifteen minutes I had calmed down. Another friend who was with us then asked the question, "Isn't this the placed that F'd up your tire before?" I turned to my first friend with eyebrows raised, and she proceeded to tell me how she went to Valvoline Instant Oil Change for a tire rotation. Following that service, her right-rear wheel came off of her hub just two blocks away from the "really nice" idiots at Valvoline instant Oil Change..It has always been my belief that these instant service garages all lay on the scale between Incompetent and Crooked. Valvoline Instant Oil Change on Pico is no exception in my opinion.Keep driving... even if your oil light is on.
