Words can t express how GRATEFUL I am for this place! Best customer service from a repair shop hands down. The owner Dominique was really helpful and looked at my car really quick to explain what was going on. Made me feel like I can trust him and this shop. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Super honest, great service. My car battery kept dying, and the shop managed to find that it was not the alternator like I suspected, but actually just a lightbulb in the glove box. many other mechanics probably would have charged me for something, other than such an easy fix, but Jays shop was so honest I will definitely be back!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnosticServices: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

I had a last minute road trip come up and needed to have some basic maintenance performed on my early 2000s Escalade, as well as a trip check to look for any other issues. My other shop had no availability and suggested I call Jay's. I'm glad I did. Not only were they able to squeeze me in, but they took great care of my car. They fixed the issues, and provided me great insight into the maintenance coming on the horizon. They communicated the cost once the inspection was done, giving me the option to make the judgment calls.I'm a huge fan of Jay's. In a world where a reliable shop is a requirement to keep an older car running (especially to avoid new car prices), Jay's can help.Thanks!

Mercedes A6 Service.We ve been going to Jay s for 30+ years and literally spent thousands of dollars there. We ve always been very happy with Jay. We ve never ever had issues with the many different cars we ve taken in over the years.But, a few times since a change in ownership it seems we ve had issues. And today was the last straw.We called and scheduled an A6 service. He was honest on the phone and said he didn t know exactly what it was but he would look it up.We picked up the car today after the service - and they didn t do the full A6 service only a partial service?My husband called Dominic and asked why. He told him he tried to google what the A6 service was but couldn t find it and since he was also down 2 mechanics they only did a partial service and we need to bring it back.A call would have been nice . Jay would have called. Now we have to go back to another mechanic and get the plugs and brake fluid done . We will go to Mercedes and get the rest of the A6 service.After 30 years it looks like we need to find another mechanic. Communication is key, a simple phone call would have been nice.

My parents and all of my relatives love this place! I will never take my vehicles anywhere else. Dominic is Incredibly kind but more than anything he is honest. Honest. Jay s auto has a strong reputation in Orange County for being excellent at what they do. They are excellent! They Never over charge. Their Prices are beyond reasonable.I love them. They blow my mind! I have been coming here for years. I've been going to Jay's for 20+ years. It's the only place I will take my cars. They're trustworthy, honest, and do the best job. They also work with you on what needs to be done and give you a heads up for the next services so you can save up and know what to expect. When Jay retired I was a bit nervous, but honestly he couldn't of found a better fit in Dominic. Dominic is equally as amazing and takes the best car of my van. My experience with Jay s Auto Repair can be defined as exceptional. Jay went above and beyond to help a Kansas girl (me) out who s car died on a mountain pass (Alpine Heights, CA) enroute to visiting her brother in San Clemente. After a long evening sleeping in my car, and during a 1 1/2 hour tow on a Monday morning, I was able to contact Jay (based on my brother s referral) and explain my dilemma. I only had a few days before I needed to head back home and panicked when he said that they couldn t work on my car (I didn t know it was completely shot yet) till that Thursday. When Jay heard about my need to leave in a couple of days, he said that he would squeeze in a quick assessment/look under the hood that very day. When he informed me (in a timely manner) of the engine s demise, he gave me several options as to what I could do with the car, including the name of a scrap yard company I could sell it to. Jay then allowed me to keep my car in his shop parking lot for an additional 4 days until the scrap yard company could tow it to their facility. Throughout my multi day drama, Jay was accommodating and kind. He did not charge me a penny for his assessment or for housing the car there for several days. His integrity and helpfulness were such a blessing. I even got more money back from the scrap yard company he suggested than I expected. So if you need a repair shop that is helpful and trustworthy, look no farther then Jay s!

These guys are great! I ve taken both my Prius and my Tacoma here and the pricing is fair and they did the work quickly and completely. I used to take my cars to the dealers for service and repairs, but was referred to Jays Car Repair by a friend and have not been back to the dealer since. Dominic, the new owner, is really nice and very helpful. I was really happy to see Jay and Tara sell their company to someone with the same values and business practices they had. It s hard to find a mechanic shop you can trust to be honest and fair, but this is definitely one that is. I ll keep bringing my car and truck here for repairs and service.

That was the best vehicle repair experience I've ever had. the easiest, they're very informing they have great knowledge. I gave up on the car and they still kept running a couple extra tests just to make sure and they came up with the problem and they fixed it for minimum amount of money. compared to what I was just going to junk it and they're just really honest and fast they're out in and out that same day and it was just a great experience I'll definitely take my car there again and I recommend it to anybody. Thanks for the honesty and hard work

I'd like to give a Huge shout-out/Thank you to Jay's Car Repair! I was in San Diego for my son's Box Lacrosse tournament this past weekend. On our 8 hour drive back home, my car began to act up. Kids were scared because of the car trembling. I quickly looked for auto shops near by. I arrived at Jay's and explained to the gentleman at the front office (assuming the owner) what was going on. After communicating with the mechanic, he said they would help us to make sure we get home safe. This is hands down the BEST service I've ever had. Despite them being fully booked all week, they found time to help us. I loved how organized it all was, AFFORDABLE, the communication between both the owner and mechanic, plus their amazing personalities. I HIGHLY recommend Jay's Car Repair I wish we had something like this where we live! Also, if you have Instagram, let me know so I can follow you guys and recommend you to other friends!!!

Dominic, the new owner, and the team at Jay's are incredible to work with! They are always done on time, cost estimates are spot on, and repairs costs are very fair. I have had my share of repair shops, dealerships, and even the big name chains that do oil changes try to take advantage of me when I take my car in for repair or service. I have NEVER felt that way at Jay's. The team is friendly, have my safety and the health of my car set as their priority, and their prices were a third of what the BMW dealership wanted to charge me. They have me and my family as clients for life!Services: Air conditioning, Oil change

I am Tara, one of the former owners of Jay's. I now take my car there. We carefully chose Dom, the new owner because we wanted a local who had our same community based philosphy. The mechanics with their technical expertise remain there. I trust my car with them and know they are open to all communication. The one unkind review below was from someone whose father was a long time customer. Jay charged a diagnostic fee which anyone should expect. It had nothing to do with the new owner who was being trained at the time. Writing a negative review so quickly for a new transition shows no compassion. We are very happy with the change as are all the customers we have talked with.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Brakes, Oil change

Came to Jay with an unknown cause of a P219a. A garage previous had incorrectly diagnosed it twice and I was fed up. Within the same working day, they were able to call me and tell me what they thought the problem was. Unfortunately they weren't able to help me with the problem, since it would have required them to tear apart my engine. However, the honesty and helpfulness from Jay, and a recommendation to Ocean Breeze, is the only reason my car is running smoothly right now! Not to mention his diagnosis was spot on even though he didn't even pull apart my engine, I would highly recommend them, as they are a trustworthy, hard working shop!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

1st time customer here ! At first, I called because I had popped my tire and am sort of new to the area & was a little clueless. They highly recommended Hollys Tires and that was my first high point! Then I realized something was wrong with my coolant tank. Either leaking or just something plain wrong bc I just had an oil change. Dominic told me to stop by and they d take a look & top me off and we d go from there. Not 2 days later, my car was sensing that I was out of coolant again. Dominic scheduled me quickly and they had me back driving within the day! Superior customer service! I m really glad I found a local mechanic!

An honest shop, with courteous employees, fair pricing, and no up-sell. I have moved around a lot, and always dread bringing my vehicle to a new shop (anticipating the condescending speak and assumption that I know nothing, with the inevitable up-sell). Jay's came highly recommended by a local friend who has been a customer for years, and I will pass that recommendation to anyone else I know that needs service or repairs. I was impressed, and will be a repeat customer.

Jay's should be a 6 out of 5. I'm serious. I called and said I needed rack & pinion and the first thing Tara said was "Really? that's unusual. What are the symptoms?" My Toyota has been dealer-maintained so I didn't know. I called the dealer back and they said PS fluid was leaking. Tara said to just bring it by and they'd assess. Jay let my husband look under the car and showed him everything was OK & what it would REALLY look like if we needed rack and pinion." Jay's saved me $1600! My husband and I will be customers for life!

I can't say enough good things about Jay's. I had never been there before but after reading all the wonderful reviews I decided this was the place to fox my car. They repaired it in the same day and were very honest and resonable price wise. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an honest mechanic.

Took car in for a pre-purchase inspection. Jays found a way to squeeze in my car at the end of their busy schedule. They seem very down to earth and accomodative. The inspection didnt last the full expected 30 min so they prorated the final cost. Awesome! Will plan to use them in the future

Needed an oxygen sensor replaced in order for me to be able to pass smog. Scheduled an appointment that week. Brought it in the morning and got it back with a passed smog check that afternoon. Great price too, it was $300 less than another estimate I got from a different car repair place.

Caution: new owner. Take into account with prior reviews.New owner did not treat us as well as prior owner. Beware change of management and now philosophy it s not about treating client right.Management needs to check in with client on amount you want to spend before presenting oversized assessment charge.Service: General repairs & maintenance
