Great work. Great experience. Being new to the area wasn t sure where to go but decided to give these guys a shot. RJ took the time to understand what I was looking for and then explain my options moving forward. Extremely happy with the work. Reminded me of my favorite mechanic back home. Thanks again. Will be back any time I need something done on my truck.

RJ is great at El Camino auto service. I have an 11 year old Mini Cooper that needed a new clutch. He was so professional, got the car done when he promised and was right at the price he quoted. This will be the only place I service my car now!

The Best! I ve been going to RJ for 20 or so years even now drive 30 minutes to El Camino Auto. He is honest and his pricing is very fair if not below market. There is a reason the shop is so busy. RJ does an incredible job and I would trust him with any car I had. He has gone above and beyond what he needed to do and has never tried to "upsell" repairs that I don't need and has made me so grateful that I have a mechanic that I can trust. I would recommend El Camino Automotive to anyone looking for a capable, reliable, and trustworthy mechanic.

RJ is the kindest, most honest person in the business. I have been a customer of his for over 20 years and he has always operated his business with the upmost professionalism and highest integrity. And he never tries to upsale you, always honest and looking to save you money where possible. I would give him 10 stars if I could.

I went here today to have a car checked from a local dealership before I bought it, just to be sure everything was fine with the car. They thoroughly checked the car and gave me a full run down of what was wrong with it. They were very polite and helped me a lot with speaking to the dealer about what is wrong with the car. The mechanic even sent me a picture of the specific engine code lights to bring to the dealership as well (so I didn t have to argue about it with the dealership, with me having no idea what I m talking about). Highly recommend and and will be bringing my cars here in the future.

I read a bunch of reviews for this place and everyone talks so highly on RJ! They are all right! I thought I had a bunch of stuff wrong with it and thought I was gonna pay an arm and a leg but he took my car and inspected the whole thing and there wasn t anything wrong with it and I didn t pay a cent. It s nice to know they care more about your safety then money! Definitely recommend them! Honest and trustworthy!

I brought my car in because of an oil leak. They explained everything they were going to do and made sure I was on board. Even when I brought my car home and there was still a leak, they told me to bring it back and they would look at it to see why it was still leaking. They completely rectified the problem. I never felt like I was being taken advantage of like some mechanics can do. I was very happy with the service and the price was in my budget. My friend also brought her car in for an alignment and was very happy with her service. I will definitely be going back to this shop!

I could not be happier with RJ and his crew. I trust noone else and love them working on my vehicles.They have always done me right and never had a problem with their work. He knows his work and loves what he is doing.I HIGHLY recommend them and i will not use anyone else.

I feel compelled to send a huge "THANK YOU" to the kind gentleman at El Camino Automotive! I was on my way to a concert from Anaheim to San Diego when my car started smoking and I had to pull off the freeway immediately! These guys took the time to help even though it was right before closing to take a look and help me decide if I could continue on safely, if I should park-it, or return home. Turns out the emergency brake did not disengage completely and so the rubber started burning at high-speeds (it did it slightly again later in stop/go construction traffic on the way home). I was ultimately able to continue on and enjoy the concert and also made it safely home later, but if it wasn't for these guys helping to confirm that's what it was, I may not have made it to the show at all. THANK YOU so much! I see by their other reviews that they have great service otherwise, so I will tell anyone... if you are in the area and need a reputable place that actually cares, please consider throwing your business their way! Thanks. :)

Had a problem with my car window not rolling up and this place was highly recommended by some friendly locals. When I called the owner he asked a few questions and offered to help. I drove in and within minutes he had it up and secured so we didn't have to drive home. Offered to pay for his time but he wouldn't have it. So if you have any trouble with your vehicle while your in or driving by San Clemente this is a great place to call. Thanks again, for the help..

Came here for a check engine light and got a diagnose for free and a deep explanation on what could be. They check the whole van without charging me and the most important thing they were able to recommend a coleague if necessary and they were super professional and polite. Would defenitley be back if I need anything around my car. Great people, great shop.

Decent customer service but they are WAY overpriced. Charged my girlfriend $580 to replace her radiator & upsold her to replace the radiator hose (that was in perfect condition) on her 2008 ford. The exact same radiator retails for around $70 and they charged her $200. I know there's an upcharge on parts but damn. Definitely won't be going back or recommend their service. Probably deserve 2 stars but gotta bring down this phony 5 star review average

What could be more ridiculous than towing your car from Santa Ana to San Clemente for repairs? We did and we have been glad ever since to have our cars worked on by the mechanics at El Camino Automotive.Like Jim Smart and his late, lamented Metric Wrench in Santa Ana, Ray and the guys at El Camino are straight shooters who don't cut corners or guess at problems. Nor do they condescend to those of us who aren't wise in the way of engines. You can't go wrong here.

RJ is the best! Have been using him since the early 90s. All my extended family uses him too.
