I don't usually write reviews but as a local to the area i really recommend this place!Michelle and Christy were super accommodating to my situation, and it's such a great feeling knowing that my car will be back fixed and on the road again as soon as tomorrow Thank you so much to everyone at D&J who worked on my PT cruiser in such an efficient and timely matter. It's greatly appreciated and didn't go unnoticed

I brought my car to D&J after another shop quoted me $3500 minimum to replace and repair my bumper, grill, and radiator.I told the first shop that I didn't care if it looked good, I just wanted the car to be mechanically sound, and asked if it was really necessary to replace all those parts. They confirmed that I did.When I went to D&J, they told me that they couch reattach my grill and bumper in about half an hour and at a much more affordable rate. When I asked about the radiator, they said that the pipe was bent but not likely to break, so I would not have to replace it if I did not want to. I ended up getting the repair they suggested and saved myself several days without my car and literally thousands of dollars. The fix isn't the prettiest, but exactly what I wanted.Thank you so much!

Check them out! They offer an incredible service at an affordable price. I was unfortunately a victim of a crime and my car was out of commission. I explained the situation and they were able to help by not only fixing my vehicle in a timely manner but by installing a deterrent for future thieves as well.

This shop replaced my engine and made sure it was properly done. Did test drive and get truck ready for smog. Guaranteed for 5 years or 50k miles parts and labor. Strongly recommend.

I've been going to this business for ages, and haven't had the best of Service since ownership switched hands.I called yesterday all day to no answer, per their site listing they were open; but seemingly no one was working the phones.Decided to try today, called and a female voice answered. I asked if they're open today, she said yes. Asked if they were open yesterday and she again said yes. I asked why they weren't answering calls, so she gave me a lame excuse of their office phone model giving them trouble.I said okay and asked if they can do an oil change on a Toyota Camry 2001 right now and what it'll cost. She said "sure you can come over now and we can take care of that; we charge around $80-$100 for the job. I think to myself, that's a bit pricey; but I went with it.Drove over to the shop and it's packed with cars. Called asking if they had room since I can't park and if there's a wait currently, to which the same woman said "yeah... unfortunately we're a little backed up and there will be a wait". I asked how long? She said mmm about an hour or 45 minutes. I figure okay and park down at the end of the block.An hour later, I decide to pull in and go inside. The woman at the front desk is busy talking on the phone and to clients, eventually notices me after waiting about 10 min. She asks if I'm here for the Toyota service and I said "yes", so she says for me to sit. I hand her the keys and find a spot to wait.After about 20 minutes, she comes up to me and says, "Sorry, looks like we're all out of the oil for your car and can't do the job today; but you can come back tomorrow or something". I politely tell her, I can't tomorrow; get my keys and head out.The frustrating part here is I called you guys ahead of time, asked if you're able to service the car; and your staff said "sure" without doing their diligence to check with the mechanics. Your staff also tell me "come on in" seeing they are busy with an hour long wait; and then casually tell me they're out of oil.You guys wasted 1.5 hours of my day waiting outside and don't even offer any sort of reimbursement for the screw up, all because your staff don't want to do their diligence with verification.Your prices do not constitute your quality, I don't recommend this level of service to anyone; especially for what you're currently charging.You guys are driving this business into the ground.

The employees at D&J not only never answer the phone, they do not return calls if you leave messages asking them to call you back!�I don't like that at all! They're basically saying that they don't want your business, otherwise they would call you back! Especially if you're calling 2-3 times and you're leaving your name and phone number. It's disappointing too because someone I know recommended this place, which is the main reason why I called D&J. But maybe this person I know hasn't been at this auto shop in a very long time, and is unaware of new problems!

Kristy and Jeremy provided exactly what I needed. I had an issue with my left turn signal. Upon receiving other quotes, Jeremy took the time to understand the issue and resolved it within hours at a considerable savings. I am so glad I discovered this auto shop!

Highly recommend! Had a great experience working with the D&J team. I was having issues with my Jeep's AWD and they did a great job diagnosing the the problem. D&J clearly communicated the issue and their plan to fix it. Because the diagnosis was thorough, they found some other problems and let me know the impact/severity so that I could make an informed decision. They did excellent work and my Jeep has been running great.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto maintenance, Oil change

The team at D&J auto repair made my experience seamless and easy. They quickly diagnosed the problem with my car that multiple other repair shops were not able to. They provided all the necessary paperwork and worked directly with my insurance company. It s rare to receive such an impressive level of customer service in any industry. Thank you!!!

My first time at this shop was 9/27/23. I really enjoyed my experience with Marlene, Michelle, Christy and Jose. Marlene is the owner and the service side is run by her sister Christy which is really cool to see in the auto world in general. <3 #1 They will not upsell you or upsell you & they really put quality time into the repair, plus with Marlene at the helm, you will have clarity without any shame or abuse per the customers level of car knowledge.Carmax is partnered with this location, which is how I ended up at their shop, getting hands on understanding, relief and honesty that would make me come back on my own dime :) The prices were fair any way and I heard their efforts to keep things affordable (& reliable) for every customer.Thank you all for your credible work. It is so important to partner with people you trust. I will certainly be back, but hopefully, not too soon!

Since ownership changed hands, their ability to provide even a basic level of customer service has disappeared. They have no idea how to manage their workload, and this results in not calling customers back as promised, or holding on to vehicles for up to a week without even looking at them, then returning the vehicle to the customer without any work being done saying that they were too busy. Parts do not get ordered in a timely manner. When they do give you an ETA, the real time ends up being much longer. Their hours don t seem to be fixed as the front office people come and go at will. This wouldn t even be so bad if they at least checked their voice mail or email, but they don t. They also attempted to charge me double the quoted price not because they re dishonest, but because the people at the front desk have no clue what they re doing. I experienced all of the above the last three times I brought in my vehicle and I will not be returning. What s happened to D&J is a real tragedy because they used to be the absolute best in the Bay Area.Update since first posting this review: it is now going on two weeks for this latest round of repairs. Since no one at D&J ever called me with an update, answered the phone when I called, nor ever returned any of my voice mails, I finally had to drive down there. I found out from the mechanic that the front desk didn t even order the needed parts until my vehicle had been sitting there for a week (these are readily available parts a same day fulfillment for any repair shop). I was then told by the front desk that I was going to have to wait another two days for them to replace a starter and a front axel. They had no explanation as to why it was going to take so long (a lot of muttering about how busy they are). I can only conclude that their biggest problem right now is that they simply don t care able their customers time or inconvenience. If you rely on your vehicle, do not bring it to D&J.

D&J use to have a stellar costumer service and quality of work. I guess this changed with new management?I tried bringing my car Saturday morning since it says online they re open. It was closed. I brought it Tuesday morning to fix my A/C and take a look at the suspension. They admitted that they re busy but will let me know if they can work on it.I give them a call in the afternoon for an update, but no answer. No courtesy call back to let me know that they re keeping it overnight. I call back next morning and they say it s next in line to be serviced. I call 3 times throughout the day for any update and it goes to voicemail every time.I ask my friend to go into the shop to get an update as I m at work. They let him know that they ve been really busy and haven t even looked at it. I tell him to ask for my car back and they give him the keys without question.Pretty bad experience for a shop that use to be good, but with other recent reviews, it looks like I m not the only complaint.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Auto A/C replacement

This repair shop was THE BOMB!! Got stranded at SF last nite, had my Baby towed to them in the middle of the nite. By the next day, we had our car back and fixed with great cooperation from the Owner/Manager Christie!! She's good honest people and we'd definitely recommend this shop!

Daniel and Johnny are the 2 greatest people ever. My dad used to work with them in the 80/90s and I've always taken my car to them. They're honest reliable fast and straightforward. This place saved my car and likely my life! I needed an oil change and had originally gone to ANOTHER shop just down the road who noticed I had an oil leak and told me to get it fixed elsewhere. Despite me asking them if I should wait until I fix the leak to get the oil change, they said no and that it wasn't a big leak and let me go on my way after charging me $85 for the oil change. So I came to D+J Auto Repair since it was close and had good reviews. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE compared to that other disaster!D+J Auto Repair noticed the oil leak immediately as it was clearly dripping and pooling as soon as I pulled in. They told me that in order to diagnose the source of the leak, they would have to remove all the oil to see if it's either the oil gasket or the oil pan. It turned out to be both, but while the pan didn't need to be changed out right away, the gasket had been pretty stripped and luckily they had another one in the shop which they were able to exchange for me. They then refilled my oil and even checked my tire pressure and pumped it on the way out. They also informed me that had the leak continued, if the oil had drained completely my engine would have overheated which would have been extremely dangerous and that oil leaks should always be fixed immediately. Oh and they only charged me $31 for the oil change (as opposed to the $85 from the other place)! It took about 10-15 min from start to finish, and the entire experience was so smooth and seamless.Obviously I went back to the other shop to ask for my money back because 1) why did they not bother to attempt to diagnose and fix the oil leak; 2) why did they do the oil change before I fixed my leak, causing it to drip out slowly and me to waste my money; 3) why didn't they replace my oil change sticker that would let me know when the next oil change was (something D+J Auto Repair caught right away); 4) why didn't they inform me of the dangers of not getting the leak fixed immediately, as I would have continued driving for months if I didn't' have time to get it repaired today?? They had the gall to say that the gasket wasn't the source of the problem and that there was no need to remove all the oil in order to diagnose/fix the problem (ok then why weren't THEY able to diagnose it then and there???) Thankfully I got my money back and the only good thing that came from going to that place was them forcing me to discover D+J Auto Repair.I'm never going anywhere else, D+J Auto Repair has earned two customers for life. My husband and I will now always come here for all our car issues as long as we are in the area. They're honest, competent, extremely skilled and knowledgeable, and go above and beyond to help their customers instead of ripping them off (like the other shop)! Thank you to everyone who helped- Jason, Nikolas, and a few others I didn't catch the name of. I'm so impressed and so grateful to this business.

I have been taking my car to these guys for over 10 years. They re very friendly and professional. It all starts with the owners Danny and Johnny who are great guys who know what they are doing. The customer service representative and the mechanics are great and professional and provide great service.What I really like is the fact that you re advised of what you need repaired and not something you don t want. Again I say very professional.

Extremely quick and helpful service - I called right before close and they were able to get me in first thing the next day to check and fix my brakes.They checked in with clear updates, answered questions, sent an invoice via email, and had my car out in half a day (although I could have picked it up later if more conveient)It initially felt chaotic in the office first thing in morning, but a great experience overall. Really appreciated it!

I can't say enough good things about these guys. They always take care of me, they do great work and are fair.I have full faith in this shop and were anyone looking for a shop, I would send them to D&J.I live in the city, but still come down to San Bruno to have my car worked on, as I fully believe in and appreciate this shop
