SVS service is just BEYOND. I called them in a panic when I was traveling in the area and my Volvo broke down. Despite not knowing me from Adam, Rick went above and beyond to help me analyze the problem and figure out how to move forward with repairing, towing, making a claim with Volvo, etc. In the end, after at least an hour or 2 of helping me, Rick wound up referring me elsewhere!! I have never in ~30 years of car-owning adventures experienced such exceptional service. Lucky all of you who live in the Sac area and can go to them regularly.

I needed a pre-purchase inspection of a used Volvo, and was in a hurry for a same-day appointment, since good used Volvo deals go fast. Rick fit me into his busy schedule on President's Day. I felt secure having the car inspected by a Volvo specialist. Rick was so accommodating, friendly, and helpful. He saw many red flags about the car, so I dodged a bullet. I live in Oakland, but if I lived in Sac, I would definitely choose SVS as my Volvo mechanic!

I was visiting town during a rainy weekend and discovered my 3- year-old wiper blades were shot. Rick was extremely helpful in ordering replacements for my XC60-- which arrived the next morning. Throughout the process, he and his team were very responsive both on the phone and texting.. and he installed the new blades without charging for labor (although I asked him to do so). The takeaway being... SVS provided great service for a measly, no-money job - so I will not hesitate to use them next time for (inevitable) major repairs.

Flew up to Sacramento on a Monday to buy a Volvo XC70. Rick and his crew were well known as a reputable Volvo shop, so I called Rick to schedule an inspection. Monday's are always very busy in any automotive services shop and Rick found a way to fit me in. His expert mechanic found a couple problems that helped me get a fair price for the car. His team performed the repairs and I was on my way home a couple hours later. Thanks Rick for taking care of us so well! Trustworthy and Competent!!!As a proud Volvo Owner, I have always enjoyed working on my own car whenever possible. However, being the owner of an uncommon car model, finding reliable mechanic who understands Volvos can be quite a challenge. Fortunately, I found a trustworthy mechanic, SVS.In October 2022, I had to face a situation where I could not handle the maintenance of my car's cooling fan system, and I decided to give SVS a chance after hearing experiences from a relative. The moment I checked my car in, I knew my Volvo, whom I named lovingly, Franky, was in good hands. Rick and his team showed me their unmatched knowledge and skills when it comes to working on Volvos.One of the first things that impressed me was the open communication thought the entire service process. They made sure to keep me informed about every step they were taking, explaining the issues with Frankie, and the necessary repairs.Being a woman in the automotive world, I have unfortunately encountered instances where I felt belittled or taken advantage of by mechanics. However, at SVS, I felt nothing but respect and professionalism. They are committed to providing fair and reasonable pricing, unlike the Volvo dealership. At SVS I never felt like I was being pushed into an unnecessary services or being price gouged.Rick and his team takes the stress out of car maintenance. When ever I need help to service my car, I am taking Frankie to SVS. If you have a Volvo, take it to Rick. Trust me you will not be disappointed with the service you receive at SVS.

I went here on accident, dropped my car off when they were booked solid and they made it work. It was a roller coaster ride as the issue was more complicated than any of us thought. They offered a loaner car when the job took longer than expected and kept me updated as the work was completed. I'll be going back for future service.

Recently had to bring my 06 V70R in to SVS for a catastrophic transmission failure repair. From the start Rick was very helpful with getting my car into the shop and getting in torn down to find out what happened. He even oversaw the unloading of my precious VR from the flat bed since I was unable to be there when it was dropped off. The tear down was as bad as we thought and it was going to be costly. I was presented with multiple options to rectify the issue and I was not pressured to go one way or the other. They advised me on my best course of action and I chose the right path based on my needs. The estimate they gave me vs. The final bill was actually dead on. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Rick kept me updated throughout the 3 week repair job and SVS had my car ready for me when they said it would be. Even did me a solid and had the car detailed/ cleaned off all the transmission oil that covered the car from the failure at 60mph. ( It was Bad)I would highly recommend SVS to anyone who needs service. They have been my go to Volvo service center for the last 10+ years.Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance

My 2001 S60 stopped on side of freeway 3:30p (I was 150 miles from home). Told them my situation and Rick said get it in here (via AAA) AND WE WILL CHECK IT OUT. Boy did they deliver. Got right on it and determined my 180k mile alternator had enough fun with me. Got the alternator next morning and sent me on my way. Price of invoice was very resonable. Would consider coming from Santa Cruz if service is needed.Bob the mechanic personally saw to my repairs - top notch customer service.Service: Electrical repair

Rick and his team were extremely helpful. My car had been sitting for two years, and they managed to get it completely fixed. They deserve more than just five stars, but five stars will suffice. Their work was done quickly, and Rick kept me updated with everything that was happening. I definitely recommend SVS to anyone that needs their Volvo fixed.

I've used SVS Volvo for a few years, and usually for maintenance and service of my Volvo C30. I had major wear and tear on my vehicle that needed immediate attention. Rick was very professional and provided an accurate quote for service and parts. They made it very easy during this pandemic to get my car into the shop and provide a quote via text. My car drives like a dream once again. Highly recommended for any Volvo owner.

Rick is simply the best! We have an XC90 that seems to need a lot of attention. Rick fully explains what is needed and why. He texts updates and estimates, and the shop is incredibly fast with turnaround time. Hands down the best car shop I ve worked with.

Fantastic customer service. Came in with an overheating issue; the guys were fast to see me and diagnose the problem the day after labor day with no appointment. Ended up needing a new vehicle (repair would've been more than the car) and Robert the owner was quick to help me find something locally. He and Rick kept me very comfortable during a stressful situation, treating me like family. My only regret would be that they didn't get to work on my vehicle more as I'm sure they can fix anything effectively.

The day we took our 65 122s wagon to SVS we were confident we had found the right team.Robert s passion, expertise and enthusiasm was evident from the start to finish of a complete engine rebuild/upgrade.We appreciate his time, information, ability to source Classic parts, and provide advice for keeping our Amazon in great shape. Brought my 1992 Volvo 940 Turbo in with numerous issues. Now my car runs better than ever. The pricing was fair. I was impressed with their attention to detail. They even washed my car! THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST MECHANICS IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. I am retired US Army. I have lived from Stuttgart, Germany to the Beaches of Hilo, BIG ISLAND, Hawaii. I AM TRAINED IN MECHANICAL EXPERTISE. Robert Marcello, Founder of SVS, and his team have DEDICATED THEIR LIVES to mechanical perfection. They want to be the most TECHNICALLY PROFICIENT MECHANICS in the world. They can FIX ANYTHING. But of course they specialize in VOLVO. My 1983 VOLVO 244 TURBO with FACTORY SUN ROOF is the "1957 CHEVY" of all VOLVO. It will go down in history as CLASSIC SWEDEN VOLVO. These guys are the only ones I trust to service it. BRING YOUR CAR TO THEM FIRST. Rick and Robert and the team want to please you in every way. I LOVE SVS VOLVO since 1985.

These guys went the extra mile to diagnose a tricky electrical problem I had with a used XC60 that I had just purchased. They kept me appraised at every step even though it took longer than initially expected. Once they replaced the bad part it was like new! And they got it done quicker and cheaper than the estimate. If you have a Volvo you should take it here!

It s hard to write a review for someone who does not stand behind their work, screams and hollers when you have a legitimate claim only to tell you that you are attempting to get free repairs. With the prices they offer I d rather go to a Volvo dealership because they re going to stand behind what they do , you don t get all the unprofessionalism, hollering and screaming when there s a problem and the service will be good!Service: Auto body & trim repair

I am a lover of Volvo's and have owned several models over many years. With that being said, we all need to know our Volvo and what to watch for as they can tend to have some temperamental things and just like any car they require being maintained properly to last for years. I moved to the Granite Bay area about a year ago. Sacramento's Volvo Service (SVS) was highly recommended to me for servicing or any issues. They are, without a doubt, on top of their game. Honestly, I have to say that they are the most kind, honest, knowledgeable, reasonable and professional group of men I think I've ever dealt with! Over all these years as a Volvo owner I now I am in great hands with them! All of the customers I noticed coming in and out also seemed to have a very nice rapport with the entire staff and many smiling faces! I am a true new fan of SVS and wouldn't consider taking my Volvo's to any other shop after the excellent, positive experience I had with them. Five Stars in my book!

I bought a used Volvo for commuting. I brought it to SVS auto to fix various gremlins. The team at SVS from the owner to the service manager Rick are simply wonderful people. Fair, honest, friendly and competent. 5 STARS!

Don t trust these guys. They knew we were from out of town so charged us for an original Volvo axel at $650 ($900 after labor) but they installed an aftermarket (non-Volvo) axel that sells for $240. This was the day after Christmas, by the way. After driving home 450 miles the car started making strange jerks. A local Volvo mechanic recommended we replace the same axel we just paid $900 for. It turns out that the aftermarket axel did not fit correctly so created issues, otherwise we would have never discovered the problem. We drove the car back 450 miles and they tried to cover up by explaining that the $240 part was the same as the $650 part, but they still charged the full price. They replaced the axel with a Volvo part, but they had the car for 2 weeks. When we picked up the car there were 2 dents on the passenger side fender (side the axel was replaced) that were not there before. We didn t see the dents until we were home and didn t have time for them to fix it. I ve now heard multiple stories of dishonesty on the part of the shop. Beware!
