SUPER RUDE !I called today and politely asked for a smog check price and a man proceeded to yell and me and scream some kind of nonsense gibberish and ended with RESPECTFULLY I ILLEGALLY PASS CARS FOR 450$, IF THATS NOT WHAT YOURE INTERESTED KEEP ME IN MIND FOR THE FUTURE I was stunned so all i said was okay.. and he hung up. anyways after reading all these other reviews they seem to reply with so and so was NEVER here they wanna tarnish a good name but they seem like a bunch of scummy scammers and rude people overall. don t go here. I called another shop nearby and they were so much more helpful and polite. It s so sad this is what people come to because of their sad lives

Place is affordable with their online coupon but best of luck with them actually being open.. odd hours and seem to be open when they feel like it.

BEWARE SCAMMERS!!! I took my 2011 Honda Civic for smog test . They did the initial obd scan and told me is ready and will pass after which he proceeded to perform the emissions test..After about 5 min of waiting he came back to tell me my car had failed and would need to have a repair station correct the fault and will run in the amount of $300 or he can let it pass since he has the connection with a someone that can issue me a clean certificate of pass and to do this just pay $250 and I will be on my way. At this point knowing my car never had emission issues before I declined the offer and confronted him as this is a SCAM.. HE got abusive and got into a heated argument. To cut the story short I took my car to a different shop and without telling them my previous encounter, the car passed without any issues.. Avoid those two Asian scammers at this facility. When I arrived I asked how much it would cost me to do a smog check and break and lamp inspection. I was told 40 for the smog with certificate and 99 for the break and light inspection, I agreed but when he proceeds to do the inspections he comes back to tell me that the smog failed. I was very surprised because my car fairly new and I never had that problem before. He then told me that he wants to help me out, and that he has a friend that works at the DMV that could fix that problem in the computer but the friend charges $300 and he would charge me 100 for the smog he originally said costs 40. I told him I didn t have that amount of money and could not afford me. He then told me it would cost me more to fix it and to think about it. As I started waking out he said ok I will help you out, just give me 300 instead. But you have to decide now or leave me a deposit. I walked out and went somewhere else and my car passes the smog right away. This place is a SCAM.Service: Smog certification

I went here and waited for 2 hours until the owner for business. There are 2 car ahead of me with an extra 50 minutes of waiting. When I drove my car to the shop, the Asian bald man quoted me 400 dollar for some random friend work at DMV to pass SMOG and 100 dollar for the SMOG service. I refused to paid 500 dollar and the Asian bald man said paid 300 now or walk away. I said I don t have that much money then I would like to leave. He said I can t leave and have to paid right now. After back and forth arguing, I said all I have is 100 dollar. He grab my 100 dollar bill and told me to leave. I told the Asian bald man that I can t leave if you already took my 100 dollar bill. I refused to move my car out of the shop, since I know I am getting scam at this point. The Asian bald man drove my car out of the shop and told me to leave. I drove my car back to block the front entrance and refuse to move my car until he pass my car. 5 minutes later he come out with a SMOG pass certificate and tell me to leave. I would never come back here again. They were honest 6 year ago, but now all they do is trying to scam people.

Disappointing experience, especially after 3 prior positive visits. 1. Website says opens at 9, Google says opens at 10. Actual opening was 10:15am. I was third vehicle in line and was there for over 90 minutes. Definitely not the quick experience I have had in the past.2. Price - in 2019, I had a car smogged for $28. In 2021, I had a car smogged for $41. In 2023, he asked for $168. He did lower it after I said that was too much. I guess that is how they manage to stay open for only 2 hours a day.I hate to say it, but after recommending this place to friends for years, I will not be doing that and I will not be returning myself. The hours here are pretty random. The hours posted are not accurate at all. They seem to open whenever they feel like it. Last time I needed a smog I tried this place multiple times but it wasn't open when it was supposed to be or the line was taking forever. Years ago this was the Go To place - super fast and efficient (at times it was so fast I wondered if they'd even done the test...). Dunno what happened but unless you live nearby and it's convenient to see if they happen to be open, I wouldn't bother.Service: Emissions testing

This place is a SCAM. The average price for auto smog testing in CA is $30-90. They are charging double market price at $220. The unfortunate part is they hook you up to the machine and then have you pay once you re hooked up and that s how they pressure you into the payment. Our family has taken our cars here on several occasions in the past. Previously we paid about $40 so we didn t think twice about taking it here again for this year s smog testing. I hope others read this review so they don t get scammed as well. I reported them to the CA Better Business Bureau. I also find it very suspicious after reading other customer reviews that over the last year. They have charged each person different prices, anywhere from 150-400 dollars. It seems like they are literally making up prices on the spot.Service: Smog certification

5 years ago, my 1st car was passed no problem with them cause mileage was under 100K, and it was 'no coupon needed'. 2 years later, i brought my second car and they got me for $150 to pass the smog check for something minor. However, couple months ago, I brought the same car hoping they will treat me 'long-time-customer', but NO, I had to pay $400.00. to pass the same car that i brought 2 years previously. I was so stupid, and I told him that i won't come back, and he just smirk. They want to get rich fast by ripping me off....NOT ANYMORE. Tried to give them my business today but $200.00 for a smog was outrageous. My car is stock with no lights he told me it would not pass anywhere else. I politely declined and said i would go somewhere else to which he said I was a failure and would never go anywhere in life. Which honestly makes no sense. Going somewhere in life means scamming people? I used to do business with them when they were honest but then they got greedy. I will not be returning I found a good honest smog shop to go to now that won t break the bank. I know they will reply saying I m not in their system but I promise you. I was there today, I have used them before, but now I will never return.

Went for a smog test, first time here moved from out of state. Got charged $230!!!! Absolutely ridiculous and totally overpriced. Didn't know better that normal cost is $40-75. Will never return.

Tried to say my headlights would fail Brake and Light Inspection cause they re not stock. After a 30 minute wait, 5 min inspection, and $200 later, he turned his head the other way and gave me the pass. Regardless, one of few places that can do inspections. I d go to west sac if I ever need another light inspection.7/21 Update to review: I have my credit card statement and inspection paperwork to prove I was at this business and paid for services. I m sure any competent person reading this can see red flags all over this. If you try to call them, you won t get on the phone with anyone. No appointments and walk ins only is for a reason. They wouldn t want to quote you over the phone so they can hustle deals in person. Just read their responses to the negative reviews! They re ridden with typos and spelling errors.

They wanted to charge me $182 for a smog check. They said my car would not pass with someone else because a hose was clear and not black but that they would let me pass if i did it with them. I tried to negotiate , but they continued with their outrageous price so i told them i was going somewhere else. Two employees became agitated and began insulting me. As i laughed it off and closed my hood, one of them slammed my car door as hard as he could and they both continued with their little tantrum of insults. Honestly people should avoid this business for their own safety and to avoid getting ripped off. It is sad to see people turn to these kinds of tactics as i had some ok experiences with them before.

Do not waste your time going here. SCAM! trying to charge $100 for light inspection or $400 for break and light inspection! Rude people that work here don't waste your time going. We know another person who recently went for break and light inspection and it was $200 for both and yet he's trying to charge us $400! And funny thing is we have the same vehicle as our friend!

These guys are always on top of it and give amazing service year after year. I always trust them to get my SMIG handled right so I don't have to worry about it getting to the DMV Wouldn't recommend anyone else, honestly! I was recommended to them back a few years and I'm glad I was.

This place will be shut down soon by the bureau of automotive repair. They end up charging you more than DMV does for vehicle registration. Unless your vehicle has issues I wouldn't come here for a smog check. They will charge you to pass any car. They have a black truck inside the building they can put the tailpipe sensor into.

They open at 9 am but when I arrived at 10 am they were just opening. By 10:45 they still weren't smogging any vehicles. One of the guys said to me "if you don't want to wait, then leave!" So that's what I did. They offered no excuse why at 10:45 they still weren't doing their job!

BEWARE ITS A SCAM!!! They have a bot that claims that "blank "wasn't in the system or whatever but it's false. They charge absurd prices, and their no pass no pay guarantee is also false. I went for brake light, didn't pass from some incredibly minor issues such as light not being flush with bumper. They said i didn't pass and then said for 300 bucks they could look the other way and let me pass. Incredibly crooked, evil minded people that seemed fine at first. After I wanted my money back from their no pass no pay for ANY service policy" they just walked away. I recorded and sent the conversation to BBB and the fraud department. DO NOT COME HERE if you value your time money and mental health.

This place is fast, but also feels sketchy. They are not up front about their pricing, and you should carefully note the fine print on their online coupons. Because they rush you through the process, it's actually not even clear when you can present the coupon or talk about pricing.I would also note that although they say they open at 9, everyone that showed up at 9 just ended up sitting in their cars for half an hour before they would start.If you want something fast and shady, this place is fine. But there are other places to get your smog certification that are comparably priced and a lot more professional.Service: Smog certification

I believe these guys are dishonest and likes to take advantage of female or people who they think don't know too much. I felt like I got ripped off on a recent smog check that I did with these guys. I paid close to $90 out the door for a smog check. It was a long day and I didn't even question the pricing. I think I'm going to file a complaint against them. I dont like being taken advantage of and I really do not like dishonest business. Someone should look into this. I mean if you're legit and honest you'll actually attract more customer by word of mouth.Service: Smog certification

The workers there are extremely rude and if I could give zero stars I would. I just went to get a smog this morning and I got there an hour early. The first man that walked up to me was nice at first, and then when I told him there is not a current check engine light on my dash board but I had to replace my gas cap yesterday and the code for that might pop up he immediately had an attitude. I told him my dad is a mechanic and has been for years, and that he has checked my car (a 2016 Jeep Compass) and ensured me that the only issue was the gas cap. He explained to me that I have to drive 150 miles for that code to disappear and I said that was totally fine and I would come back, then he proceeds to say that mentioning that my dad is a mechanic is "condescending" and that it was rude and I had an attitude with him and not to come back that he was refusing service. What girl doesn't mention something that her dad tells her at any car shop? How is that rude? I had no issue coming back after the 150 miles at all I got in my car and was about to leave and that's when he said don't return. His coworker then walks up and says "hey you don't need to ruin a good day." It was just handled really poorly, I am not one to leave reviews but when I leave a business crying I am not going to keep my mouth shut. I even tried apologizing and said I didn't mean for it to come off as an attitude and I'm sorry if it came off that way and he said "I don't need you to keep talking you aren't welcome here." It sucks because I have come here before and worked with another worker and had no issues. They need to rethink their employees.Service: Smog certification

What really impressed me is the efficiency to which they operate. I didn't have to get out of my car for more than 5 minutes. Great price, quick service, very pleasant interaction saved me time and money. Would have been happy even if I didn't pass. This is the kind of small business I want to support.

All of these reviews can't be false guys. No one is trying to slander you. I had a monitor on an evap code before coming here and was honest about it, and these guys were trying to get me to pay $400+ to pass my car because they "know a guy in the DMV." They'll use urgency to get you to think about it. I played their game for a bit and they dropped their price to something like $200 for the illegal smog special. I ended up just leaving after feeling really awkward about the whole experience. They thought I didn't know enough to fix the issue on my own. My daughter got a brake and lamp inspection at this business. They advertised on their website and their business cards that the inspection was 99 00. After the inspection, the charges were 400.00. When asked about the 99.00 price he stated we had to ask for their advertised price even though there was no verbiage on the website or business card that stated this. I asked him if he could show me where it said that on the website, he said it is on Google. I said yes but I am referring to the price on your website and business cards. He said if you don't like it file a complaint with one of the companies that does that. Filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and Board of Automotive Repair for false advertising.

I had used this business in the past for smog checks, and it was fine, so recently when I needed a smog check again, I took my car there. As always, I used their $31.99 website coupon, which states "No PASS No PAY! Smog Check: 2000-2020 1999 and older vehicles, diesels, and RV NOT included in price above. Trucks, suvs, vans, and diesels additional $10. Star certified directed vehicles additional $10." But instead of $31.99, they charged me $41.99, claiming that last sentence meant that because they were Star certified they get to charge everyone that extra $10. Whatever. It's Covid and inflation, I'd appreciate an honest "we can't afford to honor the coupon" instead of a made up excuse, but I wasn't in the mood to find another place to go, so I paid it. BUT THEN...my daughter went to get a smog there, and they completely refused the coupon, telling her it was for "people selling their cars, not renewing" and charged her over $80 and my daughter felt they became aggressive when she and her boyfriend questioned it. Disgusting - they were just taking advantage of a young, inexperienced girl. Lesson learned. Don't go here.And yes, I have receipts from both of these visits, as well as the email with the coupon, which I will provide to Google when this review is disputed.UPDATE: Do not believe the business' lies about this being a false review. Receipts have been added showing both visits. It's so sad when what was a good business decides to turn to tactics like this.UPDATE 2: Business has edited their response. First they said they said it was a fake review and they had no record of me in their system, then once I posted receipts they changed it to say I came back the next day demanding the coupon be applied. BOTH ARE FALSE.

I will never bring any of my shops trucks here again because they ripped me off and wouldn't return money taken from me I am telling you don't do Business with these guys because they are shady. They said that they could pass my truck for a thousand dollars and they ran my debit card without permission. Beware scammers . and this is not a false review because I have the charge on my bank account statement.

I never write reviews but Do Not!!! go here UNLESS YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE ROBBED. This establishment should not be open.
