Eric the owner and his staff are very honest and reputable mechanics. I had my breaks done a year ago, discovered my rotors were shot. I went back to the shop Eric put in for warranty on parts and backed his service. They are knowledgeable, honest and fair. I will definitely be back.

I remember when Midtown Foreign Auto was Japanese Imports on 17th street. I ve been bringing all of my cars to Eric for over 20 years for scheduled maintenance and any other repairs needed. I ve never wanted any other mechanic service touching my vehicles. He and his brother Rob have always been honest and trustworthy and their pricing is so much cheaper than what a dealer shop will charge. I ve never been disappointed with the quality of work. Now Sage is keeping that same customer service going. I have always appreciated how well the communication of the work to be done is conveyed. These guys are Great!After taking my Nissan Pathfinder to Nissan of Sacramento who tried to rip me off I call David and explained to him what my problem was and he told me to bring it the the next morning. David and Carlos both patiently listened to what my problem was and what I had already done to attempt to fix it, I told them what I thought was the problem but to check it for themselves. After a few hours David called and sure enough the problem wasn't even close to what the dealer wanted to charge me in excess of $1500 to fix. They fixed my car for well under $1500 and didn't charge me a ridicules amount for labor. They also noticed that the part store sold me the wrong belt and took care of it. Got my car back the next day running perfect!Very honest and most of all they really know what they are doing.Definitely my go to shop!

These guys are amazing! My car was badly damaged in an accident, and while I was waiting for the other driver's insurance to come through, I was stuck with a car I wasn't sure was safe to drive. I called Midtown Foreign Auto looking for advice, and even though I had never been a customer of theirs before, they took my car in right away. They were more than fair, and gave me straightforward answers to all my questions. A silver lining of this accident is now I have a local auto shop I can trust. Mechanics like this are hard to find these days, so take advantage of this one!Services: Auto exhaust system repair, General repairs & maintenance

Excellent auto shop! We wouldn t go anywhere else. For over 20 years, we have taken our cars for service and repairs to Eric and the rest of the Midtown Auto (formerly Japanese Imports) crew, first at their J Street location and now at Q and 19th. Their work product and customer service are always outstanding. They do an excellent job diagnosing the problems, explore low-cost options, and implementing solutions. Their costs are reasonable and there are never financial surprises or unexpected delays. We have appreciated their partnership keeping our 24-year-old Subaru and 17-year-old Prius operational with minimal costs. In recent years, we have worked closely with Sage, who has the same excellent skills and standards we have enjoyed with Eric. We ve gone to Midtown Foreign Auto for decades and give them top reviews - honest, effective, reasonably priced, flexible, and great to work with. They helped us keep our Subaru Outback alive for nearly 25 years (we bought it new in 1999) saving us thousands of dollars in avoided car payments. They do an excellent job on our 2005 Prius as well. They are really good at diagnosing problems, let us know what our options are, and letting us know that repairs we thought we needed aren t needed after all. Unexpected car troubles can be so stressful, however the men at this shop really put me at ease. After calling several places that didn t take my emergent situation seriously, Midtown Auto was so helpful, and willing to help in any way that they could even though they were about to close. They were thorough, honest, and genuine in their approach. 10/10 recommend them above any other auto repair shop (I called several in the area with high Google ratings, this one was the only good one who was proactive and sincere)Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Vehicle safety inspection

This is THE best place to bring your vehicle. I've been coming to them for almost 2-3 years. They kept my SUV running despite the age of the vehicle. Edit: I ve never gone back to correct a review , but this felt necessary. I had preciously loved and trusted This shop. But my last experience was less than friendly. Sage was pushy and quoted a $950 brake job. I said it was too much and he said he could do $800. I ended up getting more quotes and did went inspection to find out I don t need new brakes (they re at 6mm). It s hard being a woman and finding a reliable place. I am bummed to feel so taken advantage of.I have been driving more than half my life and I have never had such an amazing experience at an auto shop as I had at Midtown Auto Repair!!! Rob was so kind, as was the wonderful lady at the front desk and the gentleman who checked me in, and fixed my problem and even offered help with a ride (not close). Everyone is so nice and honest. They definitely have a new lifetime customer.

Wow. I rarely get this kind of service. I drove in off the street with a broken taillight and a road trip the next day putting me in need of immediate assistance. They immediately took the time to help me out. Took them all of 10 minutes to fix my light, didn't want to take a payment, and they were so nice about the whole thing. I was really impressed. Will come back!

They ve earned my business for as long as I live in the area.He was honest that it would probably be cheaper to buy my own spark plugs and bring them in. When I showed up with ignition coils, he offered to see if just replacing the plugs fixed the problem, so that I could potentially return the coils. The other guy even mentioned that he wouldn t recommend the brand of coils I bought, and I appreciated his expert feedback. The repair was done quickly, and when I arrived back he identified the root cause. He explained what was wrong, why it caused the issue, explained how urgently it needed to be addressed, gave me a quote, and didn t pressure me to get it done then and there. He actually didn t even pressure me to get it done at his place; he probably just wanted to let his work stand for itself. And it did. Like I said in my first sentence, they ve earned my business for as long as I live in the area.

Do not get your vehicle serviced here.I paid $800 to have a fuel leak repaired, only for them to route the fuel line on top of a line that gets extremely hot. My vehicle could have caught on fire.Sage s exact words to me were to invest in a fire extinguisher If you want to pay outrages prices for terrible and incomplete work, then come here. These guys are incompetent.Fare warning.

I was fortunate when my friends at European Sports Garage recommended Eric and staff at Midtown Foreign Auto to work on my Nissan Xterra. Eric has been a lifesaver! He always takes my calls! He never fails at walking me through car issues on the spot, side of the road, instant problem solving. He makes you feel important! He is truly the last of a dying breed of stellar , quality, fair, mechanics that get the job done right. He combines the tried and true techniques of the past (experience) with has valuable team members that can handle cars old and new with ease and expertise. I highly recommend this shop!!! They treat you like family!

This is a truly honest/ethical auto shop. Even though they were more than qualified to handle my auto troubles, they did some extra research and found out my issue was covered under warranty and called around with local dealers to confirm that they could take care of my issue. The issue I had was one they dealt with fairly commonly, but it was more important to them to make me aware that I could be getting this service done at no expense than for them to capitalize on the need for repairs. I will definitely be recommending this place to everyone I know and be returning should I have other car troubles.

Eric, Sage and Max and all the other mechanics there are amazing and trustworthy from my experiences. I have continued to go back as well as bring all my vehicles to them. I highly recommend this place it gives you so.much piece of mind knowing there honest and great at what they do!

Highly recommend them, they're straight forward and very friendly! Thought I was going to need a pricey repair but Eric and his crew figured it out and saved me a lot of money! Some mechanics would of opted for the bigger payout but they've won my business from now on!

Eric and his crew have been working on my 2003 Camry for the last year. I just had it in for a couple of visits this last month to give it a mini overhaul, new belts/hoses, rack & pinion, new radiator, engine mount replacement and it's driving like a new car. I couldn't be happier with the service I've received from Midtown Auto Repair & Service Center! Thank you Eric!
