I've taken all three family cars for extensive maintenance and couldn't be more pleased with the shop's integrity, honesty, and work ethic. They are straightforward about their pricing and only recommend what's necessary to get the car back in working order. There are no hidden fees for services you don't need. This is the place you want to service your vehicle. Prompt, knowledgeable, patient, honest and kind. My 4Runner s transmission blew on the way to Tahoe. The Bay Area independent garage that services it steered me to MIA/MIJ to assess and advise. They were outstanding. If I lived in Sacramento this is the only place I d ever take any vehicle I owned. This review goes to the women in need of car repairs. This auto shop is very honest, easy to communicate with via phone and text message, reasonable prices, and the professionalism is top tier. Chris and Alex speak in east terms and are very pleasant to speak with regarding car issues. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!

Being honest and candid goes a long way for me and I have just been thoroughly impressed by the actions of this company.I was able to have a good conversation with the owner that was able to get a lot of things resolved and we both seems to come away with positive vibes. With that being said I do not question the Integrity of this company and I do believe they do good work because most of my experience with them has been positive. I revise my review because they have shown to be a company that cares about their consumers and I will definitely bring my car here again. I believe most of us just want a company that puts themselves in the other person shoes and willing to work things out, which they have.Very cool and professional...

Alex and his team saved me a bunch of money. Not only was the dealership milking me for money, they were making it seem as if my life was in danger but also not wanting to do the work and telling me the parts were unavailable. Alex reassured his work and guaranteed me that my life was save as well as my vehicle and didn't overcharge me for anything and was honest. If you're looking for someone who is straight up, knowledgeable and guarantees their work, look no further. This is the place for you!

This visit I worked with Alex. He was amazing, very polite and super helpful. He walked me through everything, gave me honest recommendations, and took the time to explain the real expectations out of my vehicle. I wouldn't say that my car is as good as new. It is not that kind of a story. Rather, I am super grateful to not be pressured into a ton of repairs that would not solve the overall problem just for the sake of a quick money grab. The mechanics that worked on my vehicle, and every staff member I encountered, in person or on the phone, from the bottom of my heart thank you so much. Whatever my vehicle journey from this point forward, I will always look to these guys.

These guys are awesome! Saved a pregnant lady the headache of wasting thousands on getting a junk car, will definitely he using their services again. Chris has been so kind and the other shop members that I've talked to were patient and explained things to me, made recommendations, talked while I sat in comfy chairs during the pre-sale inspection. Could not recommend them enough!

I called this place because I was getting so much run around with other shops/Honda dealer just to get my car looked at and an estimate. This place had excellent customer service! Alex and Steven were amazing in communicating with me and not trying to sale anything to me at all or do anything shady. I left this place feeling relieved about my car that there was no major damage done and they even were able to get my car back to drivable condition at no extra cost to me. I can't recommend this shop enough! I was having issues with my car randomly stopping even as I was driving it and had bunch of other random symptoms and Made in America/Made in Japan was able to quickly diagnose and fix my car.I was really skeptical after a bad experience at Duncan's when I paid for a diagnostic test that gave vague and inconclusive results.But, Made in America/Made in Japan was an amazing experience through and through. The staff is super helpful and friendly. They ran their diagnostic test and were not able to replicate the symptoms I was experiencing, but they were determined to find a fix so they asked to keep the car one more day. Next day they had a suggestion and gave me the total costs and I happily agreed and it has been running smoothly ever since! EXCELLENT shop, especially for Toyota (I own a 2006 Avalon).I HIGHLY recommend their inspection service... very detailed with photos. Alex answered all of my OCD questions; very knowledgable! Prices were reasonable and the work was warrantied (and completed on time!). This is one of those good shops that won't try and con you into doing unnecessary work. Came here mid-September as I was looking into buying a 2nd Gen Toyota Highlander. I decided to come here to get a pre-purchase inspection done. The first Highlander I brought in I was sitting in their lot whether or not it was even worth having it inspected. Alex came out to me in the lot and free-of-charge looked under the front end of the vehicle proceeded to transparently tell me that I should go look at other options and to "listen to my gut". I felt much better bringing in another Highlander in. As soon as the inspection was done. He sent me a digital copy to my email. Very detailed with pictures and everything. He explained everything to me and the mechanic who did the inspection was very detail oriented. They did not try to "urgently" upsell me anything but rather broke everything down to "if the vehicle is worth purchasing". I ended up purchasing the vehicle and I absolutely love having the security in mind that I brought it here to be inspected before-hand. I plan to bring it here for future maintenance as that is all it basically needs to live for many years to come. After all, it is a Toyota that was well taken care of by its 1 previous owner. :)Service: General repairs & maintenance

Incredible, honest work, that was transparent the entire time. I came across them by a chance internet search. They went above and beyond what was expected and were thousands of dollars cheaper than the estimate I was given by the down the street Subaru dealer. In a word.....WOW!!! Right off the bat when I walked into their shop, Doc was AMAZING! His greeting, customer service skills were all on point and made me feel very welcomed. Odd for an auto repair shop, BUT MOST APPRECIATED. I have an older car that is a 1999 model with over 278k on her. God bless her she's still going strong and needed to have some work done that I had been avoiding for probably a good 6 years. The dealership total wanted to charge me close to $7000, and well....I just morally couldn't. I'd always seen this shop when they used to be on I Street, so I thought...."why not?". I had emailed information to Sara and she was courteous and forward and personable in her answers. Right from the get go I knew I was in good hands.Cutting to the chase of how well the work was done? Two words; WOW & EXCEPTIONAL!!! I dropped the car off on Tuesday, and it was ready by Thursday 5:00pm. Doc had informed me with the work that was done I'd notice some changes...and boy did I! ALL for the best. I actually was laughing a bit to myself because of the previous problems I was having and FELT during driving time, but chalking it up to "being an older car". Well, these guys did exceptional work, at a substantially less cost. I'm BEYOND happy that I took the chance, got the work done, and what I had felt during previous driving time had nothing to do with being an "older" car. In the future, they will have my business as well as a whole hearted recommendation.Thanks to the team of mechanics who did the work that made such a difference. It's always so easy to not remember them, but shout out guys! This place is super awesome! I knew from the phone call that I was speaking to a business that knew what they are talking about. I also realized that they were even charging fairly as the gave a quote that was similar to another place I've been going to for years. Made in America/Made in Japan provided the absolute best and most thorough service I have ever experienced at an auto shop and I mean every word of that. This is were I'm bringing my vehicles from now on. Quality work by quality people. Doc made me feel like I was in good hands immediately and Sara treated me excellently and even my wife said the same thing as she had to go pick up my vehicle. Thank you!

From the start, the quality of customer care put all of my worries at ease and made me feel like a valued customer. I knew I had found the right place to properly maintain my vehicle for long term care. The staff are knowledgeable and go above and beyond to ensure the vehicle is ready for the road. My car was serviced to repair the initial issue in a timely manner and then they performed an additional diagnostic test at no cost leaving me with a peace of mind while on the road. I did some research on reviews of places first, and frankly, Made in America/Made in Japan had excellent reviews. I made an appointment for my 2006 Camry.To start with, the customer service was impeccable. They were very thorough in going over the entire car, sending pictures with every evaluation. They explained exactly what we were looking at and whether in their professional opinion anything had to be done. Once all the work established, they did not try to up sell anything. Some of the work could be done by my husband. There was no shame or scoff in that. I bought the car used in 2010 with a funny dead spot or lurch in the Excelerator. After years of us playing around with that issue, they fixed it! I can not recommend them enough. Doc took excellent care of us!!!

I did a pre-purchase inspection for a car I was interested in purchasing (which I did end up buying). Doc was really nice on the phone, and we set up an appointment for the next morning. I was able to bring the car in early and talked to Chris on the phone and he told me I could come on in. There was a minor, very slow leak that they pointed out to me in the garage and helped me assess whether they would be concerned - the warranty would cover it, so that was good. They provided photos of the inspection so that I could have these on hand for any future fixes, and made me really confident in going forward with the car. Super friendly, good at explaining things, comfortable waiting area, and really fairly priced. I d definitely recommend them!

I recently took my car to the dealership for a power steering and instrument panel issue. The dealership said they fixed the surface issues of the car, considered it a patch because they didn't know how long the repair would last with all the other issues they found. They instructed that I needed to replace the entire BCM along with a power steering module +a few other things and quoted me just under 5k for repairs. The cost of repairs was more than the car is worth. To make matters worse, my check engine light turned back on within a day of driving it off the dealerships lot. I was on the verge of junking my car out of frustration, but decided to get a second opinion. Made In America/Japan is the best auto shop I've ever been to. The diagnostic was thorough and the results were sent to me digitally with pictures so I could see exactly what they meant in the report. They do not try to push services on you that you dont need. Communication was on point. I got my car back fixed within a few days for around $600, way below what the dealership was trying to charge. They also offer a great warranty on the new parts they put in. They discussed other maintenance that could help performance but took the time to ensure these issues were not an immediate threat to the functionality of the car. They do not use fear tactics here. I appreciate the honesty, transparency, and prompt service. As long as I live in Sacramento, this is my spot for auto work. I found this auto service establishment online and decided to go with it due to the very stellar reviews that it s received. I was not disappointed. Doc gave me some very solid information in regards to what my car needed. This was free of charge. He is incredibly friendly and professional. I scheduled an oil change for the next day. Sure, you can go ahead and look around to see what other prices are out there for the services you need done on your car, but i promise you they wont give you the peace of mind like they do over here at made in America made in Japan. Truly professional, Doc was there to answer any question i had, and Sarah was more than happy to help me with any concerns regarding my vehicle. Bruce (Technician) was beyond honest and extremely helpful when it came to diagnosing the problem and putting his expertise to the test to resolve the issues i had, they know what they are doing here and they will give you the services you pay for nothing less. Avoid this shop as they engage in taking advantage of people (my sister using my vehicle) , failing to give accurate written quotes and changing quantities without notice, and end up charging +25% markup on dealership MSRP parts pricing. This shop failed to accurately communicate.Also to note the final bill was higher than the nearby dealership and included less services (no wheel alignment) and took a alot longer than originally estimated for the work.Service: Steering & suspension replacement

This was the first time I had been to the shop on Fulton. I worked with Doc who was very professional, listened to my needs and did quality work. When I received the complimentary inspection report Doc didn't push me to schedule a next appointment but respected my need to save money & plan for something in the future when I was ready. I'm a happy customer & would recommend this place for others..

Must be nice there mechanic charge 2 3 hundred an hour I ended up paying 600 dollars for them to tell me I need to get a new engine that would be 9 grand there took it to a real mechanic they did complete dod dalete within a week for 1500 labor and had me buy the kit truck still runs to this day goto Ruben at Fulton auto repair across the street about half mile down he definitely knows what hes doing and dont charge more than the cars worthService: Auto engine diagnostic

My 2013 Prius needed a head gasket replacement. I decided to use them because of their warranty, they stand behind their work. It was my first time ever using them I always used the dealer for maintenance but toyota only give a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty but Made in US give 3 year 36,000. I have not regrets my car is running like new and they did great work.Service: Engine repair

Excellent service... I trust these guys, you should too!Worked with Doc who provided a pre-inspection car purchase. They were able to do it same day and provide a detailed report (using a 3rd party app). I had also sent them a list of 20+ questions about the car... they answered them as well without issue. Will definitely be working with them again!

They are friendly and seem to be priced fairly so i had them do an oil change, transmission fluid change and spark plug change on my lexus. I was happy until a couple days later my car was making a rattling sound and i found out they didn't tighten a bolt holding on a metal bar under my car that covers the brushguard on the undercarriage. This is semi dangerous because if the bolt would have come all the way out the bar would have been dragging on the ground. There was also a metal bar to hold down my battery that was just loose and rattling. Both of these things were not an issue before my car was worked on. Im happy with their service otherwise but was frustrated at them not reassembling the car properly.Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance, Auto maintenance, Oil change
