As a woman in a new town it was hard to find a place I could trust and a place that would be helpful. These fine gentlemen have serviced my car many times and were able to help diagnose an issue when the Toyota dealership could not. They also walked me step by step on how to contact warranty. They went above and beyond.

Great service! I brought my Honda Civic in for a smog check and a new headlight at 7:30 this morning. My car was taken in and worked on right away, and I was provided a clear estimate of what the costs were going to be. Headlight is working and the car passed its smog test, so I'm definitely a happy customer! Very friendly service, and very reasonable prices. Thank you!

John has been my go-to mechanic for over 5 years now - ever since I rolled onto his lot in need of a smog check, but finding out that the services Auto Express offers extend well beyond that. He and his staff have serviced both my Subaru WRX and my GMC Sierra 2500 for every need that has ever come up with either of them - smog, oil changes, the random wonky engine stuff that needs expert attention, new brakes - ALL of it. This morning I went by his old shop to do a drop-in smog check and seeing that the lot was vacant - I was despondent - UNTIL I called him and found out that he'd simply moved to his new location (now at 615 15th).It is no small thing to have a mechanic that you TRUST - and that is who John and his staff are to me. Their diagnostic skills are excellent. They always provide options when repairs are needed. Costs are up front. And the work is always prompt and stellar. And they are super friendly to boot! Very, very glad John is in business and he will continue to be my mechanic for the long haul. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My car hasn't been idling correctly and hesitating for a long time. My normal mechanic couldn't figure out the problem. I then got an engine light. I thought that was the end of this car. Junk it! I took it to Auto Express. My car happens to be a 29 year old Infi G20. He put it on a tester made for older cars.Within a short period of time he knew, what was wrong. For a extremely reasonable price. He fixed it and smog tested it too! So I could sell it to friends. His knowledge of vehicles is unmatchable. He knows exactly what he's doing. When, do you ever get a bid for repairs, that comes in $100 less than what was originally quoted. He's not there to take your money, he's there to fix your vehicle! He is so nice and kind to you. It's hard to find a mechanic that you can trust. You can trust. Auto Express!! 20+ STARS from me!!!

This place is where you take your vehicle when the dealer can't figure out what is wrong. They are very knowledgeable and experienced. You are welcome to pick and choose what you'd like to be fixed. Some or all, it's up to you.. reasonably priced, conveniently located.Highly recommend checking for yourself.

I m so happy I stumbled upon this place and right next door to my house no less.I had been having trouble with my jeep leaking radiator fluid he replaced the part and had informed me of a few other things that were happening. I had another emergency issue a couple weeks later and he got me a new starter in and on the road the same day. He is so communicative and really let s me know what s happening with the car and why, which I truly appreciate after being over charged and misinformed at some other places in town..

I called her one morning asking if they had availability for same day for my brakes on my Honda Fit. Jon was very nice and replied with a yes, come on down when I arrived he got to work right away. Jon was very welcoming and professional. My car didn t pass smog and I needed new spark plugs and my 02 censors needed work along with many other things. With all the work the estimated price was $2400 and would be without a car for 4 days. They were really transparent about the whole process. They finished the car in 3 days and the cost was only $1,380. They saved me $1,000 and finished before the timeline. My car passed smog and I couldn t be more grateful. I definitely will be going back, they re a family business, (son&pop) shop, so that s a plus. Also he educated me on car care. I took my car to Midas before and won t be going back to the big brands, the local family, who does honest work is where I ll be.Service: Engine repair

Been having issues with my car so I called John at Auto Express thinking I needed a spark plug change. Right off the bat he suggested to run a diagnostic before I pay for a spark plug change. He saved me a bunch of money by being honest cleaned up some parts, and fixed the hood of my car without charging me. Only cost I paid was $130 for diagnostics and we we were able to find out what s wrong with my vehicle. Will be bringing my car in to get her fixed. 100% go to John if you want good old fashioned honesty and hard work.

Been going to John for a few good years now. A friend referred his services as I really wanted services from someone that I could trust. Since then, I haven't gone to any other mechanicJohn is great at communicating and making sure you know what you're getting. He triple checks that you understand what's being done and why, and gives you a chance to opt out of any other suggested services after explaining the pros and cons. Couldn't recommend him more.

John is an excellent mechanic who took the time to really show me what was going on with my car, and allow me to decide how to proceed. He didn t try and oversell me on anything, and seemed extremely open and honest. Would recommend this place to a friend!

John helped me receive an accurate and honest quote after being misquoted by another mechanic nearby. He told me what really needed to be fixed and did it for almost half of the price. It's hard to find someone you trust in the industry and I absolutely recommend Auto Express for anyone looking to get high quality work done and transparency around billing. Will be going to him from here on out!

I had an ongoing, complicated issue with my car and took it to two auto shops and even the dealership, but no one could figure out what was wrong. Once I came to Auto Express, John was quickly able to identify the issue and presented me with several different options to fix it. He was super transparent about the pros and cons to each approach, also being super clear about the financial implications of each option. My car has been running smoothly since then and I am so grateful! Every time I come back he always remembers me and overall provides great customer service!

Refused to re-smog my car without charging me $60 again even though California Law clearly states he is obligated to. Would not recommend.

I've been an Auto Express customer for two years - regular tune-ups and one part replacement while I've driven almost 50,000 miles in my Honda. Their service for oil change, tire rotation, brake inspection, etc. is consistent and fair. Multiple times John has advised me a filter or brake shoe doesn't need to be replaced yet, rather than charging me for unnecessary maintenance.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Tire rotations, Vehicle Inspection, Brakes, Brake service & repair, Auto maintenance, Oil change

Get everything in writing before accepting any service.Look through the 1 star reviews and you'll see that the owner has a history of advertising one price and then charging another.I had another 1 star review posted and he had it removed. Do no trust the rating! It's skewed from having 1 star reviews removed.

Auto express fixed my power steering leak caused by another shop, they did it in a timely manner, they were honest respectful communicative they explained everything. They didn t try to upsell me on things I didn t need, and the pricing was fair. I ll be returning and am appreciative of the owner

I called needing my car battery replaced and they were able to get it replaced and fixed very easily and efficiently. They are a do-it-all shop and can do it at an affordable price. Highly recommend, I ll be back again soon.

Excellent customer service, fixed the problem exactly, and extremely fair priced. This is my new mechanic, I will not go anywhere else now- Jon is very thorough, explained everything in detail, and I am very very pleased. I needed a timing belt, oil, pump, water pump, etc.. And everything was done perfectly and extremely well priced. I will not go anywhere else .

Been going to John's for over 2 years now. He's now at a new location on 15th street. He helped troubleshoot a check engine warning light and figured out that the thermostat was stuck in the open position and the alternator and belt needed to be replaced on my Honda Civic. Will be bringing my Mazda soon for some more work.

My mom's 1995 BMW was in desperate need of repair. The car had many issues. Other auto repair shops could not rectify the problem; they just continued to charge her high prices, but could not diagnose the real problem. It was obvious she did not have a reliable mechanic. I suggested she take her car to Auto Express, because my past experience with them has always been great. Auto Express was thorough, assess the multiple problems, and recommended the needed repairs. My mom clearly understood what needed to happen, the time it would take, and the cost to get her car fixed.My mom is a satisfied customer. Auto express is a great place to get electrical work done. I had a problem with the tail lights on my Prius and John and his employee fixed my car and I have not had a problem with it. He thought he wouldn t be able to get it done in the appropriate time that I needed it because it is a vehicle that I use for work but he did and he got it done with the end, a couple of days prior to what he thought he could do. I am so grateful that he was there to help me when I need it. Please take your car there and get all the work done. John is fair and he is good.

Auto Express has come to my rescue time and time again. I had taken my Honda Odyssey to the dealership and was told everything was good only to have oil leaks and suspension issues go unidentified. John fixed the issues and saved me thousands of dollars in repairs that should have been caught in the first place. In the past I have had my brakes replaced, axels, regular maintenance completed by John and team and shouldn't have gone back to the dealership. I took my 2018 sonata here after being told by the dealership I needed a windshield wiper arm replacement that would cost over $250 and I would need to wait for it to be ordered. Auto Express fixed the wiper arm and installed new blades in under 10 minutes and for around a quarter of the cost the dealership estimated. Always great service here! I have been coming to John for a few years, first with my 2001 Honda CR-V and now with my 2016 CR-V. John is always friendly and honest, and will tell you if something needs to be done right away or if it can wait. Prices are very reasonable and they always provide an estimate so there are no surprises. Needed an oil change today and John also fixed my squeaky brakes and helped me with a tire issue, and the car was ready right when I needed it.
