This business is new to me, and as a AAA member I trusted they would take care of my new, used 2004 Subaru Forester XT. Great decision. After a little detective work during my last visit Julio and his crew figured out my cruise-control wasn t working due to the clock spring . Who even knows what that is? Worked great coming back from Clear Lake last week. Looks like I ve found a new mechanic

This place is the worst mechanic shop I have ever experienced and AAA should reconsider having their name associated with this place. We brought our car in to have a diagnostic and we were quoted $6400 to have a transmission replacement. They went as far as saying the transmission was in such bad shape it couldn t be rebuilt, made up an entirely false diagnostic report. Tried to scare us by saying that they couldn t say when, but the transmission could go out completely at any time. I could not believe that and went and got a second opinion. The second opinion said there was NOTHING wrong with the transmission. That the transmission was in great condition. Even the fluids were clean. The problem literally had nothing to do with the transmission. These people are SCAM artists and I wouldn t trust anything they say. Good luck.

Got a AAA tow to this location when my car wouldn't start, and they could take it in and start working on it right away. Diagnostic report was thorough and Joe and Julio were very helpful and patient with all my questions, and helped me with some issues that weren't even part of the original diagnosis. Price was fair to me and turnaround was quick, thank you!

This place is really bad, I wont recommend to anyone, the customer service is really bad but the worse is that they want to change a part that my car did not need it, took for a diagnose and they charge $300 for just to let me know that need to change a part that cost only $1200 and can be more dependent on the time they spend, I did not leave my car, did not have $1200 but if I have at that moment I will, but the thing is my car did not have any issue, I took to another place and the car did not need any part change.I love AAA in all the aspects but this place it is terrible and never recommend.

There wasn't a problem with the repair shop but AAA did me a dirty deal on the towing after their repair shop couldn't fix my car and everyone that i spoke with agreed with me. So i don't have anything good to say about AAA

$75 diagnostic fee to tell me that the engine doesn't turn. Duh? Then they apparently overflowed it with oil to see if that was the problem? If the car doesn't start....................... Why would you put oil in it? Am I just stupid? Thanks for nothing!

I have been a long time customer. Joe and the guys have always treated me very well and the service from oil change to fixing things on my tarsus have been great. They are very helpful and always answers my question. A friend recommended Kniesel's to me for their honest, straightforward, customer friendly service at a reasonable price. I came for my second oil change today and their excellent service is just as I remember last time. Everything was done in a timely manner, and although they had other things they found, they were not pushy about doing it then and there. They even vacuumed my car before returning it! (I washed my car but didn't have the time to vacuum before my appointment, like I usually do. So, that was a nice surprise service!) I like that you get a digital report of the services done, which you can access at any time. Overall, an excellent place to bring your car for service! Definitely recommend it!Service: Oil change

Kniesel's has been my go-to mechanic for about 4 years, and has always made me feel like my car's in good hands. Everything about the place is highly professional: large clean waiting area; coupons; friendly, helpful personnel. They're really good at communicating what's needed, what's recommended, and what can wait, and they sometimes find potentially expensive problems that are easily fixed at low cost or free. They have freebies like local shuttle service, a car wash coupon, 12 months of roadside assistance reimbursement and a 3-year warranty on work, and a detailed inspection report on recommended service, including items that are expected due to age or mileage. I just wish my 17-year-old car had fewer problems.

This is my second time going to Kniesel s (now going by AAA Sacramento Power Inn Auto Repair Center) and the staff is the same: always super helpful, welcoming, and accommodating!I ve gotten a range of services from a SMOG check/certification and multi-point detailed inspection to a tire rotation, transmissions service and oil change. They always finish in a timely manner and go above and beyond, checking other items to make sure my car is in working order or so that I can prepare if anything might eventually go wrong.Pricing is fair in comparison to other shops and the location is so convenient so it s perfect instead of going to my original place in Citrus Heights. Definitely recommend !Services: Transmission, Tires, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Air conditioning, Smog certification

I went there as a AAA member for SMOG. Very helpful appointment intake as there are different SMOG tests and they perform the standard test certification. The appointment completed smoothly, no surprises and no confusion, since everyone I met is very communicative.

I took my car to AAA in February. Ever since then I have been back and forth to them. Problem after Problem. They're always coming up with something new. I paid close to $4,000 to get my car serviced. I shouldn't keep running into any other issues. From now on, I will go to Dodge. I don't think they would lie and sneak parts on that doesn't fit my car or over look something when should've been addressed the first time around. AAA is out for your money, they do not care about their customers.Update: July 10, 2023My car started over heating again. There is no way I should be having car issues. AAA cleared my car several times saying everything is good to go. If so, then WHY am I still running into the same problem?? This makes no sense.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Auto maintenance

Hector was so helpful and really informative when I needed to get my gas tank replaced. It was a hectic situation, but he was very clear about what would happen, answered any and all questions I had, and was so pleasant to work with. Kniesel s is wonderful...! Joe and Robert were so helpful and professional. They were able to keep my car extra days, saving my butt and we arranged for a safe afterhours pickup. They found an extra issue (aka critter!) in my car and took care of it, I m so relieved I didnt have to deal with it. I appreciated the text from the inspection, and the email quote so i could really look into what I wanted to take care of immediately or wait on. No pressure to do it all then, i definitely felt in control which can be hard with car services. Would come back and I m not even a local!

Great experience, AAA auto center was very professional, they started working on my car right away, they called me every step of the way, they made arrangements when i could not get there before closing time to pick up my vehicle. I will continue to use AAA for all my car fixes and would recommend this place to anyone family, friend or just anyone looking for a mechanic they can trust. I had a couple other things that needed to be fixed but could not do everything at once so they were very helpful in helping me pick what was most important and what i could wait on. I appreciate the help especially being a single woman that could easily be taken advantage of. Thank you AAA for your help and thank you for your honesty!!!! Last Spring, I was concerned that my brakes were making noises and not functioning properly. As the Mom of a 3 year old, safety is #1 important and so is customer service. Kniesel's was incredible in all areas. First, I got an appointment easily, second I was able to be dropped off and picked up so I did not have to wait with my 3 year old nor worry about car seat issues using a rental car. Also, as it turned out, my brakes were fine and did not need to be replaced. Other car services may have done the work any way even though it was not needed. I appreciated their honesty and they even washed my car afterwards. I would highly recommend Kniesel's and plan to go soon for my oil change and another brake check. Thanks Kniesel's!

My car died and was towed to Kniesel s off Bicentennial (Sacramento). I knew it wasn t the battery because it was recently replaced along with my starter. They insisted it was my battery. The battery was replaced and was the only thing they could diagnose. The mechanic that worked on my car failed to replace the metal bar that goes over to battery to keep it secured and left it under my hood; so, when he/she closed it, it caused dents and damage to my hood and driver side above my tire. THEN, my car still doesn t start correctly; so as I predicted it wasn t the battery that was the issue.I brought my car to the dealership as soon as I could and that s when the mechanics showed me how the metal bar was left carelessly under my hood and caused the damage to my car also diagnosing there was a problem that wasn t the battery. So not only did I waste $289 for a battery I could ve replaced myself but they also damaged my car. DO NOT RECOMMEND.Service: Battery

I enjoyed a wonderful experience at the Kniesel's Auto Service Centers located on Bicentennial Drive. Our van required a smog test for renewal, and we chose Kniesel's for its reputation and convenient location to our home. I was impressed by the quick service and professionalism. Even though I didn't have to sit for long, their waiting room was a delight; clean, open, and comfortable. Although my children are older, I would recommend this location to customers with small children. There is plenty of space for children to set up and play while the family waits. The waiting room also comes with a coffee service, television, and beautiful fish tank. I also appreciated the AAA discount on my service. It's always a pleasure to find a business you feel has met your needs and then some. I look forward to returning for future vehicle services.

Customer service is always great. I m a returning customer and always greeted by great workers. Always a clean environment and well organized. Hector was fast and informative very helpful. This place is the best! They really do go above and beyond to help you out with your car. My husband's car had died nearby and their shop was already closed but Robert saw me stranded. I got the car towed to their shop. He didn't have to help me out since they we're already closed but he did anyways. They got it fixed the next day and I had no issues. They even washed it for me. I highly recommend this shop. All auto shops claim they can fix your car but how many can actually fix your car and give you great customer service? Just got my 1990 Nissan pick up back. My brake lights were staying on when the car was shut off. The service I got was efficient and professional. I had a nail in my tire and needed it to be patched up quickly on a Saturday morning. I called right at 8am, when the shop opened, and Matt answered my call and was both helpful and informative. He took my information down while on the phone and greeted me when I arrived. I was told that the tire would be finished within an hour and it was! I could not be happier with my service. They even reviewed my car and let me know what maintenance I might consider given my car's mileage; however, Matt was not at all pushy, he simply gave me the information and let me decide what to do with it. I not only recommend this place but I myself will absolutely be coming back to Kniesel's shop in the future.

The folks at Kniesel have worked on our car a number of times and have always done a good job of diagnosing and fixing some "stumper" issues we have had. They have given us a number of options for repairs at various price ranges which have helped us decide what to do. We have complete confidence in them and our old car is running great!

Jason has been wonderful, we went in to get the oil changed on our Sprinter Van and the guys saw the check engine light on and took a look. We are getting the van back today with new breaks, glow plugs, and a bunch of other stuff. If we would have gone to the dealership, we would have paid five times what Kniesel's is charging us. Great guys and great work!

Paid about 2.9k to pass smog, but smog was still not passing. I applied for BAR Repair Assistance, i took it in again, and all of a sudden it "passed" with the check engine still on.They said for another 1.8k they MIGHT be able to fix check engine, and it's not covered by BAR, because it had passed smog already.If you paying that much for their service and technicians, they better diagnose the problem properly. I think it's a little shady how things happened, and even though it did pass smog i wouldn't go back. Maybe it's just my junk/messed up truck, but beyond all that, it's still so over priced.. they charge me 250$ to change 5 spark plugs.You get what you pay for, expect here.

I own a 1996 Eddie Bauer F150 short-bed pickup, which is in very good condition with only 71,000 miles on it. The A/C had stopped working and I decided to give Kniesel's Auto Service Center in Sacramento a try. The shop itself was originally built as a AAA garage and I had my truck repaired there when AAA ran the shop. They had built a first class repair facility and when I checked out Kniesel's current operation I noted that they were operating their garage every bit as professionally as AAA had. As they were diagnosing the A/C problem they noted a number of things on my truck that were in need. Hoses that were tired (probably original), worn shocks and a number of other things that really did need attention and I had simply not taken care of. I drive the truck very little and it has never given me any problems, consequently I had let things go that should have been taken care of. I asked them to look the truck over thoroughly and give me a list, which they did promptly and then contacted me. There were a number of items in need and so I gave them the go-ahead. Within a few days they phoned me that they had completed all of the work, but they added that when they test drove the truck it was pulling to one side and they were attempting to find what the cause was. The next call I received was unexpected and unfortunate. They had rotated the tires, which apparently had led to the cause of the truck pulling. They opted to return the tires to their original positions which they said eliminated the pulling. This was good news, but there was bad news as well. While their technician was doing his final test drive the left front wheel came loose from the brake rotor and the truck landed on top of the wheel. They had to tow the truck back to the shop. They called and explained the situation and told me they would take care of the damage at no cost to me and asked if I wanted to come and inspect the truck. When I looked the damage over I was grateful that first no one was hurt (the technician was doing a slow u-turn in a parking lot when the lug nuts came loose and the wheel came off), and while there was some obvious damage to the running board and the left front fender, there were some other things that I had concerns about, such as the tie-rod end, the brake rotor, the wheel itself, etc. Their service representative listened to me and made careful notes of my concerns and assured me that Kniesel's would see to it that my truck would be completely repaired and returned to me in a condition that would satisfy me. Being a 1996 model I knew that it would take some time, so I asked them to not rush the work, but rather take the time to do it correctly. The representative said that's what they would do. It did take time (for instance, they had to go through three different running boards to find the correct one), and all in all my truck was out of service for about one month, but Kniesel's replaced everything that we had discussed and sent the truck to an excellent body shop to finish the repair. I cannot say enough good things about how everyone I worked with at Kniesel's went about not just doing first rate work on the things I brought the truck in for, but also for correcting the damage that occurred after the original repair work was done. My truck looks excellent once again, and it hasn't driven as well as it does now for many years. Thank you to everyone at Kniesel's for running a professional repair facility and stepping up and doing the right thing when the unfortunate accident took place. I highly recommend Kniesel's Auto Service and I will being working with them in the future.

AMAZING SERVICE!!! I was on a road trip, my car broke down in Sacramento, the guys accepted my car within an hour, and had it finished just before the closing time! They went above and beyond my expectations. Very knowledgeable staff and super efficient! I would highly recommend Kniesel s car shop to everyone in need of any type of service!!! 10/10

Service was very good and with an appointment My Range Rover was done, cleaned, and got a car wash. there was no pushy sales of things that were noticed in the free Inspection.
